Former #CardiffCity striker Nicky Maynard starts for #rovers today - along with Jordan Rhodes.

ROVERS: Raya, Henley, Hanley ©, Duffy, Olsson, Marshall, Guthrie, Lowe, Conway, Rhodes, Maynard.

Subs: Steele, Spurr, Nyambe, Delfouneso, Tomlinson, Kilgallon, Koita, O'Sullivan, Forrester, Petshi

That looks close to the first team. Bit alarmed Hanley and Duffy start as the CB pairing....

Rhodes starting is a boost.

Maynard had a great couple of seasons for Bristol City back in 2009 and 2010 but has not made 20 league appearances in a season for the last five years and averaged around 1 in 4. Not that promising. But hey...

Edit - surprised Williamson is out. Is he injured?

Could be, I haven't seen him myself. Apparently he's from b*rnly so you're probably correct.

Apparently he did well on trial at Forest but they've got another option but took a few weeks with him so he should be up to speed today.

Guessing McPhillips knew him from Crewe?

Maynard on the left? He's a striker, never seen a winger. If you're gunna give the lad a trial at least play him in his proper position.

He's a striker, so as I've said doesn't make sense to be playing him on the left when he's on trial. Play him upfront and let him try make an impression.

Strange decision to play Maynard on the wing. Not sure it's going to help his game chucking him out wide.

Have to show that you can play in any position because when Bowyer starts tinkering and shoe horning players into the team ..players could end up in any number of different positions ..tut
