We have Guthrie and Lowe in midfield who I'd imagine will provide some defensive protection. We have two full backs that have a bit of pace and can get forward so wouldn't that allow Maynard to play alongside Rhodes if we attack down our left with Olsson?

Strange decision to play Maynard on the wing. Not sure it's going to help his game chucking him out wide.

He should count himself fortunate he's not playing right back!

That Bowyer - playing 442 what an effing eejit... Oh wait he's playing a fluid formation with Maynard providing an extra option when marshall goes wide or olsson advances - that Bowyer always messing around - what an effing eeejit...

Repeat ad nauseum :rover:

Players look slow, sluggish and completely off the pace. Similar football to last season. Pass around the back and hoof. Wigan look sharper and are controlling the game.

He's come off

What a shame that is for him and us

Hope the lad is ok but might be a blessing in disguise if we're forced to look elsewhere.

Edit: If Delfouneso looks ok that's him Koita, Brown and Rhodes on the books. Can't see GB selling his pet lummox Brown. Do we need a 5th senior striker? (unless the unthinkable happens)

Maynard crocked already

Tbf he didn't do much and didn't look sharp or fit. He looked quite sluggish. Didn't see much pace. Let's see what Delfy can offer.

Guthrie has had some nice touches and seems slightly more creative than our other CMs, however he has made a few sloppy passes.
