Stuart Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 No problem with it at all, hate Spurs but this isn't a reason to moan about them. I think Arsenal had a similar agreement for champions league games, the place needs using and thousands of glory hunting Spurs fans will now get in for games instead of having to watch it on TV Tosh. It's like hiring out Buckingham Palace for weddings.Nothing is sacred any more. RIP Football.

Gav Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 Your brother showed me the photograph of the "doll" you will be watching the Sheff Weds game with; it is far better looking than you are Gav :-) Tosh. It's like hiring out Buckingham Palace for weddings. Nothing is sacred any more. RIP Football. Plenty to moan about Stuart, but this isn't worth it.
donnermeat Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 Why is Harry Kane wearing goggles? Is he going (muff) diving? Have you seen his face without it? He's doing us a favour.
Husky Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 Sheffield Wednesday were a bit of a disgrace in the final. Did they even have a shot on target? If you can't get up for the biggest single game in English football then you may as well retire. They were like Rovers under Kean and another indication of how easy it should have been for our shambles of a team to have finished in and around the top 6 (also still can't believe a team we dominated finished up as Champions). Hull were more than worthy winners.

Hull were more than worthy winners. They froze on the big stage. A shame for the fans that traveled, but their season has exceeded expectations overall and assuming there isn't any major upheaval during the summer they'll be right up there again. It'll be interesting to see if Hull stick with Bruce. It would seem harsh to sack the manager who got them promoted - but it worked for Watford, and if you were the Hull owner would you be confident Steve Bruce could keep your team in the PL?

A shame for the fans that traveled, but their season has exceeded expectations overall and assuming there isn't any major upheaval during the summer they'll be right up there again. They didn't really DE, just not good enough, been the same all season, came a season to early for Wednesday.
Backroom DE. Posted May 29, 2016 Author Backroom Posted May 29, 2016 They didn't really DE, just not good enough, been the same all season, came a season to early for Wednesday. How many chances did they create? None from my recollection, and the talent is there in that team to produce. There were a lot of misplaced passes too, far more than Hull, who were solid and looked like they belonged on that stage. I think the Wednesday players had the same opinion as you - they shouldn't really be there, and it was ultimately reflected in how they performed.
Backroom DE. Posted June 4, 2016 Author Backroom Posted June 4, 2016 Arsenal have met Vardy's release clause, said to be around £20m. It's a lot to pay for a 29 year old and completely goes against their traditional policy. Can't help but think this is more a case of Arsenal paying £20m to take Leicester's talisman and ensure they aren't a threat next season.

Norbert Rassragr Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 Arsenal might actually look like scoring a goal with a forward if he makes the move. Walcott is a winger, Giroud is a dobbin, Welbeck is always injured and Sanchez is not a full striker. They need better defenders and a midfield too. the newspapers are full of Southampton losing Koeman and all their players again. Can't see Everton as much of a step up unless that new part owner is insanely rich, builds a new stadium and lobs loads of money on transfers.
Backroom DE. Posted June 4, 2016 Author Backroom Posted June 4, 2016 Can't see Everton as much of a step up unless that new part owner is insanely rich, builds a new stadium and lobs loads of money on transfers. I believe he is rather wealthy. It remains to be seen whether he makes money available for transfers.
Norbert Rassragr Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 Being Walker rich is nothing nowadays. You need to be 'Arab Sheikh' rich, so this guy has to be a multi-billionaire. Football knows the cost of everything but the value of nothing.
Backroom DE. Posted June 4, 2016 Author Backroom Posted June 4, 2016 Leicester and West Ham did OK this season on moderate budgets. The crazy new TV deals are changing the landscape across the PL. With a decent amount of cash behind them, and if they keep their best players, there's no reason Everton can't be challenging top four next season. Martinez was a mistake from the off as his teams can't defend to save their lives and it inevitably causes them problems once teams figure out how to beat them.
chaddyrovers Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 Keoman moving to Everton due to the financial backing of the new owner and willing to give 100 mil to improve their squad. plus he is building a new stadium aswell

gumboots Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 Keoman moving to Everton due to the financial backing of the new owner and willing to give 100 mil to improve their squad. plus he is building a new stadium aswellI really don't get the idea that Everton are a step up from Southampton. Down there you're in a one club city whereas Everton, in the recent past, have always been the second team in Liverpool. Southampton already have the stadium. Everything they achieve is great whereas at Everton anything less than winning the league is failure and, barring extreme good fortune, they are not going to achieve what Leicester did this season. You'd think, after all these years, that some footballers would have learnt that the reason people say the grass isn't always greener is because it really isn't, but no. Evolution just hasn't happened in the football world.
koi Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 Nothing to do with Everton being bigger than Southampton etc etc, he'll have been offered a massive pay rise that Southampton can't or wont match.
chaddyrovers Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 I think Everton's plans are bigger and more ambitious than Southampton's plans. Wonder if Southampton will go for Frank De Boer?
Blue Cabbage Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 I think Everton's plans are bigger and more ambitious than Southampton's plans. Wonder if Southampton will go for Frank De Boer? Pellegrini according to one of the papers Chads.
G Somerset Rover Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 I'd wager that Southampton will finish higher than Everton. Strange move for me.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted June 5, 2016 Moderation Lead Posted June 5, 2016 It can only be money the reason he's going there. Can't blame the guy to be fair, he's done very well at Southampton and perhaps doesn't think he can take them much further.
islander200 Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 I'd wager that Southampton will finish higher than Everton. Strange move for me.Maybe koeman has been told players will be leaving Southampton again this summer?Widely speculated that Mane and Wanyama will be on the move Apparently the new owner has pleged to put 100 million towards player recruitment and Everton already have a decent squad that under achieved last season.
Backroom DE. Posted June 5, 2016 Author Backroom Posted June 5, 2016 Southampton are continually selling their best players. Eventually that will only lead to one thing, Koeman is smart to get out whilst he and the club are at a peak.
