Really glad to see King doing well in the Premier League, potential to be a cracking player it was clear to see even when he frustrated.

Play him through the centre and he's a real handful - cup games aside we wasted him on the wing the few times Bowyer decided to play him, where he's much less effective. Obviously his fitness here was poor too, but you have to ask how much of that was down to King and how much of it was down to the club?

It was down to bowyer to grow a pair and do what Lambert did straight away and sell JR. bowyer let us down big time with such wicked pace and finishing available to stick with a laboured approach.

Not having Benitez. He lived off the signing of an unplayable Torres and the best 45 minutes of a club player ever (Gerrard v Milan) to make his name.

Spent fortunes on dross like Kuyt and Aquilani (remember him) and shunted Alonso out the door to make way for Barry (who signed for City instead).

Newcastle are welcome to him and it's no lose for teflon Rafa as he can sod off and blame the previous regime if they go down anyway.

He will sort of that defence quickly. He always had a good defensive record at Liverpool.

Not sure these players are the quality of carragher who was there when Rafa arrived at anfield. Plus he spent on his defence which he can't do now.

I think they go down.

On his day kuyt was a very good utility player

Glad we never played that Josh King lad while he was here.

How bloody stupid was that? Can't get over it. Just another example of where ordinary fans on here saw more than the manager did.

And he was paid to do it!!

Ah but apparently Josh King was a headless chicken and Rochina was nothing but a show pony.

Funny how Lowey & Hanley always got the nod no matter how bad their form was....

Josh King fair enough, but Rochina didnt do anything to warrant the bizarre iconic status that the fans gave him.

No doubt playing under a top manager is making a big difference for him, but still, it's a travesty how little we used him. He's scaring PL defenders to death, let alone Championship plodders without a turn of pace. GB dropped a huge b*llock there.

Didn't King have two long injuries whilst here?

Wasn't he also pretty damn useless in most games bar 1 in 10? Brum away and the cup? One of those players with a serious lack of end product?

Rochina may have had the technique to whet your appetite Toppers, but his decision making never improved. Include a bit of bad luck (the dislocated shoulder in first ten minutes of that season) and that' sums up his career here.

Under someone like PL, different story but let's not bend the past. Both has plenty of opportunities and failed to grasp them.

The Rochina debate has been done to death, but are you trying to tell me that Rochina isn't good enough for a top six Championship side?

Iconic status? No. An erratic flair player who was poorly managed? You betcha.

If I were fighting relegation I would much prefer to have an expert like Allardyce as manager than someone like Benitez. Especially with only ten games to go.

If I were top eight and wanted to go a step further and compete for cups and challenge for Europe then I'd be delighted with Benitez.

Can't remember anyone saying Hodgson was an expert at avoiding relegation when he joined Fulham...

If Allardyce takes any shots at Benitez the retort should be quite simple...Adam Johnson. Don't really think its the time for Sunderland to be getting involved in petty feuds with their PR right now. Is Agnew working there?

I'm sure Rafa is better than that.

My husband will start throwing things at the tv again. Benitez is a pet hate of his. No logical reason. Just one of those people who drive you up the wall.

He couldn't get any more dislikeable if he helps keep that lot up and also helps prevent an end to 21 years of glory hunter team dominance.

Oh Gol Foxes!
