Tyrone Shoelaces Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Rest of his contract. Reading an article on Daily Mirror website and they are suggesting that Moyes, Pearson, Dyche and Bruce are on the shortlist I would build my team around Gestede next season I don't see why Chaddy. You want grafters to get out of this league. Even his mum wouldn't say he was a grafter.

47er Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Dyche would be a perfect fit for Villa----from my point of view anyway!
Norbert Rassragr Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 He seems to be a real motivator and can get a team playing to their strengths. And Villa need a load of that.
JHRover Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Hull have already issued a 'hands off' warning to Villa for Bruce. Don't see that making much difference if Villa want him. Bruce has never hung around anywhere for long and would probably jump at the chance. Not sure it would go down too well with the Villa fans with him being twice promoted at Birmingham. A lot of money gone on Mick McCarthy the last couple of days - another one like Bruce with a fantastic record in this division. No nonsense or rubbish, just gets on every season doing a solid job on limited resources, never complains yet always has his teams in and around the promotion picture at the end of the season. Pearson still popular but his assistants are still employed at Leicester. Could be a big gamble bringing him in if he doesnt have his trusted backroom staff with him.
Ribble Rover Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 If I was Villa, I'd go for Big Sam. He's a brummie (or from somewhere round there) and he'll more or less guarantee promotion and get them to safe mid table premier league status.......oh wait.
Husky Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 I don't know if this is an April Fools Day joke or whether Waddle is just a fool, but he thinks Leicester won't even make the top 2. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35938472
Backroom Tom Posted April 1, 2016 Backroom Posted April 1, 2016 If this weekend went wrong and the gap went down to 2 points at any time I would expect them to lose it. As it is I think the gap will be 8 points and game over come Sunday, Spuds will lose at Liverpool tomorrow and they will beat Southampton on Sunday.

Really worked out disastrously replacing Allardyce with a better, more exciting manager didn't it?
philipl Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 Every game now is big but Norwich v Newcastle and Sunderland v West Brom are as big as they come down at the bottom.
Backroom DE. Posted April 2, 2016 Author Backroom Posted April 2, 2016 Looking increasingly possible that Sunderland and Newcastle may be coming down along with Villa. When was the last time all the clubs promoted from the Championship avoided relegation the following season?
Backroom DE. Posted April 2, 2016 Author Backroom Posted April 2, 2016 Us, Bolton and Fulham, was it? Quite possibly. Can't remember it happening after that, though I may be mistaken.
Backroom DE. Posted April 2, 2016 Author Backroom Posted April 2, 2016 Norwich doing everything they can to help Newcastle get back into it.
Husky Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 Norwich doing everything they can to help Newcastle get back into it. That's Norwich down then.
Backroom DE. Posted April 2, 2016 Author Backroom Posted April 2, 2016 That's Norwich down then. Hope so. An easy trip to see the Rovers (not that I may want to next season, if Lambert walks) and the EA derby gives the town a bit of a buzz. But now they're 3-2 up so much for Rafa the saviour.

Can't wait to see the away end full of proper supporters (unlike today).
Salgado Is Still A Hero Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 Newcastle 6 points off safety with a game in hand against City. Away at Southampton next. I know our situation is pretty dire but I'll still laugh my head off if they went down again.
Gav Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 Martin Tyler, who I have some respect for despite being on Sky, has just said what Spurs are missing is a magician like Coutinho Whats a magician like Coutinho going to do for Spurs? magic them minus 17 points so they can sit alongside Liverpool mid table in the league? The standard of commentary in general is absolutely shocking, Tyler is usually good, but with the likes of Ince and Waddle on radio 5 giving 'expert analysis' is insulting, both absolutely useless as managers, Owen on BT Sport, useless and the list goes on, the ex-player gravy train is full steam ahead.

Same with journalism too in most cases - most articles these days seem to be written by school children or at the very least non-native speakers of the language in which they are written. Meanwhile I hope Kane is using up his goal tally for the year. Euro 2016 is coming - we need him.
Backroom Tom Posted April 2, 2016 Backroom Posted April 2, 2016 Spurs only draw so Leicester have the chance to go 7 points clear with 6 games to go tomorrow
Husky Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 It's quite rare to see 2 teams that actually both want and try to win the game for the full 90 mins.
LDRover Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 What a cracking game of football that was. I hate to say it but that is some Spurs side Pocchetino has assembled there.
chaddyrovers Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 Looking like Newcastle and Sunderland are going down. at least that's 2 away games I will be doing next season if they do come down
LewisF Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 Looking forward to Villa away too, providing that the ticket prices aren't too absurd
Backroom Mike E Posted April 2, 2016 Backroom Posted April 2, 2016 Only just occurred to me! If the current bottom 3 come down, that's 3 big crowds at Ewood to add to the coffers a little.
