[Archived] Former Rovers Star In Court Over Pub Dog Incident

Recommended Posts

Gav your just trying to stir up trouble with your anti-dog remarks(and its not the 1st thread youve tried it in)

If you think I'm taking a lecture of you you've another thing coming sunshine.

Leave the debate to the adults.

You're wading into a conversation half way through as usual with some half baked logic, try reading the thread for once not just the last page.

How did the child get her injuries? that seems to have been lost on this thread in support of an ex Rover and his dog. The parents probably saw ££££, but that doesn't take away from the fact a child was hospitalised with head and facial injuries.

I think you might try reading the thread Gav. I've been in from the off. ... http://www.brfcc.com/mb/index.php/topic/30670-former-rovers-star-in-court-over-pub-dog-incident/?p=1562950

Well you waded in saying:

She'll heal and she'll have learned a valuable lesson that dogs can bite if they feel threatened. All kids should be taught that by any caring parents anyway. My Dad drummed it into us many times when we were kids never to put our faces near a strange dog.

So basically the dog bit her.

Then you said I've got an agenda and there's no evidence to say the dog bit her

As you can imagine I'm slightly confused Gordon..

Spot on 47er, but the girl had injuries, nobody else is being sought for the attack, that seems wrong to me.

She could easily have done it on a nail under the bench she was crawling around under. I've got a lovely big scar on my head where I was chased by a horse and I dived under a barbed wire fence to get out of the way of it. Thinking about it, I should have blamed the horse and it's owner.

You should have grown a pair and not run in the first place :tu:

In the eyes of the law there was no evidence that the dog bit her, however there is evidence that the child was injured.

I'd say the parents are at fault and if we are to be as strict as you in your sentencing, they should have their child taken off them till they learn to look after them properly.

Gav, if that same child climbs into the bear pit at the zoo and gets mauled, do we ban bears?

So we've got bears and horses now......

With respect booth I think I've made it clear what I think on the subject, but I do agree that the parents have to shoulder responsibility here. They seem more interested in ££££ than anything else, typical of todays society.

I wonder if the dog will be allowed in the pub again.

Yeah but you got my point. You can't just go round banning things when it's human beings that are at fault.

My little girl, who is two, bit her own hand in anger the other day but my first thought wasn't that we should ban teeth.

Yes I get you're point booth.

But you only need to look at the amount of dog sh1t around the place to know far to many people own dogs that really shouldn't and that's not taking into account the dogs that decide to chew on kids.

Everyone's a dog lover these days, plenty are fashion statements, me I'd ban dogs until people can learn to look after them, buts that just my opinion.

What about the majority of people who do look after them?

Do we also ban cars because they don't just hurt people they kill? Or is it the people that drive them. I can see why it's so confusing Gav.

Cars don't go 'rogue', dogs do and often, thats why certain breads are banned, not the best comparison really.

Have a read of the report i posted at the beginning of the thread about Ava Jayne-Corless being killed by a dog in Blackburn, it may give you some perspective.

You won't change my mind booth and its just an opinion.

Car's can actually go out of control. They do and like dogs are owned, cared for and controlled by humans so it's not a bad comparison at all. Of course it would be insane to ban cars but that was kind of my point.

I knew of the sad death of that little girl beforehand and I would say it supports my view that human neglect is to blame in most cases. The thing is, people who own and don't show due care to their dog would own something just as dangerous and likely to harm someone if dogs were banned. It's because they are idiots, they will always be idiots and they will always be capable of harming others no matter what you ban.

I wasn't intending to change your mind but I just find it extreme that there are thousands of dogs out there who haven't done anything wrong, never will, provide companionship for many, in some cases provide medical and military service, and your answer to the problem is "ban them", which would surely mean destroying them. I guess that puts you in the dangerous breed category of humans Gav.

I've blamed the human element from the start also booth so we agree on something.

As for me being in a dangerous breed category, its just an opinion, I'm not campaigning for execution just yet, so your labrapoodledoodlebunk_um is safe :tu:

Thousands of dogs, try millions, 9 million in uk at last count. Which illustrates just what a tiny percentage these isolated cases are that people try to use as ammo against the animals.

But hey, we live in a society where we have to pander to minorities and make allowances in our personal lives to compensate for morons.

Shame really that it's always the sensible majority that have to suffer because of the few imbeciles. See the derby match day arrangements as a perfect example.

"She banged her head or something" :(

Or

"The dog bit her on the face and head"

We'll never know Mike, but I'd wager she was bitten, you don't get injuries to your face and head getting out from under a table, thats just insulting peoples intelligence.

Trust me Gav. Had the dog "Attacked" her and bitten her head and face, you'd be in no doubt what so ever.

The dog bit her, no doubt about that in my opinion, sadly the parents were more concerned with making a few quid than the welfare of their kid.

Just as a side issue, I wish people would get wound up about Venkys ruining the football club like they do about someone criticizing dogs!
