Hard to keep track and hard nowadays to feel any affinity, to any player. Especially when so many have been unfit to wear the shirt. How many players have come and gone since this shower arrived? Someone make a list!

Bowyer's rattling them along merrily as well. We know he did 3000% magnificently with two of them. What about the other 34? He's hardly a sourcing specialist, just rang the bell with two of them at a relatively low level in footballing financial terms anyway.

I'd like us to get a decent right back and would make that a priority. Or a better goalkeeper.

Leaving aside any question of quality in terms of numbers we now have:

3 keepers

2 Right backs Inc. Nyambe plus Lowe who can playthere.

2 left backs

3 centre halves

13 midfield options

4 strikers

In terms of numbers the only area we look light in is CH. GB must be hoping Lenihan or Lower can fill in there in case of emergency.

Would you say there's any area in which we are particulary over-endowed?

Frankly that's hilarious.

Have I missed something here? Are Huddersfield prepared to let him leave for free?

Huddersfield chairman confirmed last week that they won't be offering Vaughan a new deal when his contract runs out at the end of the season. Mainly due to injuries and because he's a top earner there. So would appear they are keen to get him off the wage bill

Simon Cox ? You can shove that one although we've shrunk to that level now and he does plunder a few goals I suppose. Dread to think of the agent connections in background on that one. Vaughan is decent at this level but injury prone and are any of these two better than the Fonz ?

Are there no half decent young strikers with a bit of potential somewhere who'd love a crack at trying to make it at a club like Rovers and earn potentially a 10k pwk contract ?

Blackburn Rovers trying to do a deal for James Vaughan at Huddersfield. No idea how that can happen. But there we go ...

Decent player with an acceptable scoring record - 1 in 3- but terrible injury record. Wort a punt as an alternative but a gamble, nothing to depend on.
