Stuart Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 It would seem so. Perhaps we should ask why? I agree but our track record in dealing with unfair application of rules isn't great.

Rover_Shaun Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 When Rhodes leaves the haters can all lament watching lumps like Brown and Delfounso running the line. What a goal fest that will be. We'll miss more chances than Hanley loses his man.
Reedy You're A Star Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Spurs can sign a south korean footballer and we cant - work permits are different for London clubs Fixed..
broadsword Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Any transfer news? Gary Bowyer is rumoured to be interested in a midfielder. Reports suggest it may be the Algerian playmaker Rait Guudgoh.
Gav Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Gary Bowyer is rumoured to be interested in a midfielder. Reports suggest it may be the Algerian playmaker Rait Guudgoh. Go on then I'll admit it, I ALMOST googled it
Backroom Mike E Posted August 27, 2015 Backroom Posted August 27, 2015 Wrong Right. .................. Actually it's about having better "players" than the opposition. That's what the top managers are trying to accumulate. From there results under a good manager should follow. Having Jordan Rhodes in your team - as we all know - doesn't guarantee anything. Wrong. It's about having a better, more cohesive unit than the opposition rather than a better player-for-player team. As we know all too well :/

Rover_Shaun Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Blueyedboy on Twitter thinks his agent is Eva Sowell so there could be something in it. Only according to the nice man and lady in the PR debt Terry Iffic and Mags Nificent
LJW Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 I am friends with a Sun reporter and I have just messaged him to ask whta the difference is between us trying to sign a South Korean and being declined a work permit to Spurs doing the same. I will post his response when I get it
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted August 27, 2015 Moderation Lead Posted August 27, 2015 I could have saved you a job LJW- it's because Tottenham are based in London.
imy9 Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 I am friends with a Sun reporter and I have just messaged him to ask whta the difference is between us trying to sign a South Korean and being declined a work permit to Spurs doing the same. I will post his response when I get it The Korean we were trying to sign was on a free looking to play for a championship club. The Korean Spurs are trying to sign is for upwards of 20 million plus at least 50k in wages and he has played 75% of matches in the last 2 years.

Rover_Shaun Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Hasn't he played enough internationals? Without being churlish but football should be the same as any other industry as far as non-eu employees are concerned. Only the best should be allowed, no 2nd raters, or even 3rd raters. The lad Spurs are after plays in arguably europes top division whereas the one we were after wasn't good enough for Wigan in tier 3 of English football. Move on

Not sure why people are getting confused or angry over it. The way people are crying over Kim you'd think he was the Korean Messi. He may have added to our team but we have 13 bloody midfielders already, we don't need any more.
JBiz Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Simple. Rules changed to accommodate non eu players over 10m.... Why? Because they are generally paying 40+ percent tax whilst they are working here and it'd be stupid to turn millions away. However, a short contract with no subsidies, signing fees, low wages etc...what has the country to benefit from this? Crooked system where ultimately money talks.
Rover_Shaun Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Tin foil hat off: I think you'll find a lot of footballers who pay 40% tax Rovers wanted to sign a 2nd rate non-eu employee and rightly got turned down. His protential place can now go to a youth player...........oh wait, we signed a cast off from the French regional leagues. If only we could do the same with EU players
Salgado Is Still A Hero Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Kevin nolan anyone? If we still had Gestede and the plan was to hoof it up to him while Nolan could feed off the knock-downs then he would be useful. But that's all he's really good for. And I doubt he'd only want 10k a week.

Think with his experience and goal knack, Nolan would be a great signing for an aspiring Championship team - possibly the difference between auto promo and top six.
AllRoverAsia Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Bowyer doesn't do attacking midfielders, he would have no idea how to play him. Would he be any good to fill that 'hole' in that I hear about a lot. A bit unfair to compare him with Murphy. I think Nolan would put the effort in.
Neal Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 I'd think Nolan would be a certainty to go back to Bolton
beanie Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 I'd think Nolan would be a certainty to go back to Bolton Are they not struggling for cash big time?
McClarky Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Nolan will be a superb signing for a team in our league. Unfortunately well out of our price bracket I'm afraid.
RockinRover Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Wouldn't be surprised if we were interested in Nolan. British, experienced, good attitude - everything Bowyer looks for. Attacking midfielder - what we're looking for right now. Like McClarky said though he's probably outside our wage budget, but would be worth it!
