Next 3 games vital for Rovers.

A decent points return with play-offs looking a realistic opportunity then I think we will be pleasantly surprised at just what support PL is given in the window. Make no mistake, he's not come here to tread water and I think it's safe to say he's been told he will be backed significantly.

Onwards and upwards.

Anthony Pilkington,a Blackburn boy and Rovers Supporter, now with Cardiff.

Signed by Paul Lambert when Manager of Norwich, from Huddersfield Town in 2011.

Also played with Jordan Rhodes before.

This would be a great signing. A dynamic attacking midfielder who scores goals; we haven't really got one of these. Local lad and Rovers season ticket holder growing up. Previously starred under Lambert. Surely fits all the criteria?

I appreciate he is doing well for Cardiff but if Rovers came calling, you would like to think he would kick up a bit of a fuss to play for 'his club' and previous manager.

I suspect that Boro may be reluctant to do deals with us at the moment.

Who the **** are Boro anyway?

Once stood outside The Albion pub as 40 Boro lads came walking past, one asked our firm, 4 strong.....if we wanted to 'Go' we replied:

Who the **** are Boro?

As we quickly squeezed through the half a door that led into the pub, the 2 doorman had fun keeping them out.

Sometimes you have to know your limits 😂

Apologies as I digress, but Middlesborough are a tin pot club really.

Reading match is critical to maimtain the momentum. 14 out of 18 points is brillient but 11 out of 18 less so.

Still way better than GB was managing though.

Late 80s, Boxing Day, Ayresome Park. One of the roughest away games I've ever been to. A Rovers fan lost a bollock that day after they dragged him out of his minibus at traffic lights and gave him a kicking. Awful place.

Exactly my thoughts. £3-5m

It went off in the ground straight after the game when a corrugated partition that separated the two sets of fans was kicked in. Very tasty.

Our coach had a tree stump thrown at it on the way out. Fortunately just cracked the window rather than put it through.

The game was good though, we were into our long unbeaten run and they were riding high in the league with players like Slaven, Pallister and Hendrie. Garner equalised in a 1-1 draw.

Did he not have any balls for the fight?

I agree.

With that sort of money Lambert is more than capable of bring in 3 or 4 players.

I would like to Josh Windass come in from Accy Stanley. Scoring goals and is an attacking midfielder

We need somebody to come in and make an immediate impact. I don't think the guy at Stanley is ready for the step up yet. He's one for the future I think.

I expect us to sell Rhodes in the transfer window and strengthen the squad. Some will scoff at that but we need pace and power up front in this league as we look to implement Lambert's style. We are stronger at the back and no longer need to score two or three to win. If he doesn't move on, I can see sense in flogging Marshall instead. Both players aren't making an impact that justifies their place in the team. I reckon a very decent loan signing will come in.

Tin hat is firmly on.

Rovers chased Boro through the fence, it was like the 70's all over again, but once outside the locals picked us off, hostile day and a steep learning curve for us young lads, I have to admit I sh1t myself! Never put me off though, young and daft.

Crazy day, great game and atmosphere. Boro's highest crowd for about twenty odd years I think it was. 4k Rovers, it seemed the whole town turned out to welcome us :o

We ran out when they came through the fence, nearly trampled by police horse and dogs piling in then outside a huge mob of them kicking off so we went left up the side of the ground only to see a mob of them flying towards us from that end. No idea how we escaped unscathed, maybe they left us cause we were young or maybe we were just quick lol

Tough day out, can't remember a rougher day since.

Spent some time working up there in my younger days. Relatively, never known a place with so many nightclubs. Rock Garden and Astoria were certainly places to forget. Not my favourite place !

I remember trips to Man City & Stoke being interesting around that time but never seen anywhere as hostile as that since. I include Leeds, Millwall and West Ham in that although Oldham could be fun :rover:

a bit scary that day. You could see their end empty about 5 mins before the end of the match...soon to appear outside our end, I'm sure a couple of theirs jumped the big gates and into our lot. Didn't realise that about the lad getting done in but i remember there were loads of them hanging round on a junction on the way out of Boro...bricks in hand. Nice lads.

Think that was the game we got back to the car with our scarves well covered and saw the local mounted Police gallop past towards the Boro fans. Two minutes later they were galloping back in retreat, never seen that anywhere else!

Anyone remember "Who hung the monkey" and the Boro fan who climbed those massive fences to try and get into the Rovers fans? He was kicked off the top and fell back only to try and climb back up again!

Crazy that lot were

Lower Darren isnt he Andy?

Nup, his family home is behind me on the estate by Darwen Cemetery :) met him once or twice when I was a teen, walking the dogs. Decent guy. They had a party when he got to play at Wembley :)

I'm not advocating it. Just saying that might be their condition for any other deals. And by give I don't mean give away - rather allow them to purchase

I'd rather we did not do any business with the mighty Boro if there conditions to buy players they don't want is we have to allow them to buy our only decent striker.
