Fact still remains that we are totally snookered without Rhodes. His goals could most definitely be the difference between staying up and going down this season. Without his poaching instincts today we'd probably be looking at a nil nil again, he must stay at all costs for me.

We used to say that we relied on Rhodes' goals to get promoted.

Now we rely on them to keep us up! Just another example of how the ground moves without us realising.

But always in one direction. (No boy band quips PLEASE!)

Rhodes gives us breathing space to get the top of the Club revolutionised without going down any more Divisions.

He is paid very well and now knows he has to add to his game to get the next move up(so I do not agree with Bruce)

Lets hope he gets to 100 goals for the Rovers before he gets his move!

Technically we relied on his goals to keep our heads above water in our first season too, so we're basically back to square one. Just with far less cash, a worse squad, and a transfer embargo.

All this proves is that having a 25 goals a season man in your squad guarantees nothing. Good FOOTBALLING TEAMS win games. Our results are far more influenced by poor team performances than they are by one player.

A big positive is that we can now surely all agree about the correlation between Lowe not playing and the team style and form. :tu:

You will never give up on that.

It was a good result, but let's not pretend our squad was brought together on a pittance. Our main striker alone cost more than most club's squads put together. Duffy and Marshall were also brought in for decent sums. Our wage budget is still a lot higher than a fair portion of our peers too, even with the embargo in place.

This is the Rovers Fans thread, please oblige :)

Chuffed to see us battling till the end at Hull and sneaking the draw. Decent away point.

Need to build some momentum and build on recent results and performances against Fulham, QPR, Charlton and Hull. Win at home, draw away and we are off and running.

Whatever my opinion about Bowyer's lack of ability, they never give up. They battled at Fulham, QPR and Hull, despite some really bad luck as well as shocking decisions by the officials. Respect for that...

They always battle to the end for the manager and fans and always have in recent seasons we have to give them that. Just annoying that it often takes us to go behind before we make any real attempt to grab the game by the scruff but they never know when they are beaten which is a credit to these players.

It also goes against the grain a bit about the concerns of fitness when we are able to go for it late in games so often. It's more about the style of play employed and some of the players than actual fitness concerns for me.
