Stuart Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Some immediate observations: - Bowyer sent out a team to get a 0-0 - I honestly think that Bowyer sees the team that started tonight as his best XI - We threw the kitchen sink at it from the 70th minute rather than the 80th so that's progress - Duffy got MoM because of that clearance, Conway was head and shoulders above everyone else on the pitch - Bolton are awful and must be amongst the favourites to go down - We are unlikely to play a worse team this season but still can't beat them - Our immediate future is utterly dependent on who replaces Bowyer and how quickly - Relegation is a very real possibility
Blue Cabbage Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 What an awesome player shearer was And we had him when he was quick! The ultimate scoring machine. His all-round game wasn't bad either
SoldierMo Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Shearer was rhodes gestede and few others just rolled into one
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Following the abysmal game on Sky is a piece on Big Al. Hide your razors. I just felt like crying.
Ossydave Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Rhodes should have scored 2 first half then went awol second unfortunately. Guthrie decent when he came on and must replace lowe. He won't though obviously. Ref terrible all game although thankfully didn't fall for their penalty dives. The points tally is alarming it really is but in fairness it could easily have been much better with better luck. Not suicidal just yet but on the verge.... Oh and Lennon is a winker
SoldierMo Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 What can rhodes do if there is no bloody service he cant do the midfields job for them...the team dont know what they doin all down to GB
Backroom DE. Posted August 28, 2015 Backroom Posted August 28, 2015 The points tally is alarming it really is but in fairness it could easily have been much better with better luck. So people have said after every match so far this season. At this point it has to be clear that it isn't bad luck that's the problem. Our problems go way beyond that.
roverandout Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 If anything rovers got lucky today, Bolton should have had a penalty and a better striker than heskey would have put that chance away
ABBEY Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Time to go for bowyer , Shaw & venkyscum enough is enough . Mind you bet came in
magicalmortensleftpeg Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 The lack of composure on the ball from both sides was shocking. Guthrie had to start. Rhodes thrives off good service and tonight he got maybe two half decent crosses all night. He can't be judged on that. The team selections are concerning. Playing two DMs at home against a poor outfit in Bolton does not inspire confidence. I'd also like to see Olsson at LB again. Worried. Very worried.

Our problems go way beyond that. The problem goes a lot lot deeper than bad luck But A couple of bits of good luck would leave us with a better points tally
scotchrover Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 In the words of Gary, "I thought we have it a right good go." When Bolton did come into it, it was because we sat off, such as the start of the second half. Overall, we just lacked that end product. One thing that did concern me is that we're missing Gestede's height. At times we bombarded their box in the air, only for the ball to fly over our players' heads. I have to say, even though we didn't win, it's the happiest I've come away from a game since the FA Cup games last season! On another note, I heard Bowyer directing the team tonight. I also heard the Blackburn End, from the Darwen End tonight. That's the first time in a long time.
Backroom DE. Posted August 28, 2015 Backroom Posted August 28, 2015 The problem goes a lot lot deeper than bad luck But A couple of bits of good luck would leave us with a better points tally Like the good luck of the ref not giving Bolton a penalty, or not sending Hanley off? The good luck of Heskey firing his shot straight at Duffy's foot at the end of the game? It goes both ways. Teams that constantly bemoan luck are the ones that go down.
JBiz Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Hanley was awesome tonight I thought chaps, good to see he's kicked on from a mare last season. I thought we played well, needed a bounce again and need more composure. I think it will come.

You're missing the point completely As for the 'penalty'? Eye test for you in the morning....
adsfortheblues Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 The performances are getting worse there is no denying that, had enough now, bowyer has to go.
roverandout Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 You're missing the point completely As for the 'penalty'? Eye test for you in the morning.... I think you need the eye test, it was stonewall
Backroom DE. Posted August 28, 2015 Backroom Posted August 28, 2015 As for the 'penalty'? Eye test for you in the morning.... And a lot of others, apparently. No need for the insult, just my opinion. If I'm missing your point then please explain it again.

Guest Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 If something doesn't change soon, whether it's on the pitch or off it, I'm in agreement with Stuart... We will fast become relegation fodder. At least we did better than my prediction.
Don Said Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Criminal not to score against that absolute shower of a Bolton side. Game was there for the taking, Bolton would've rolled over but we didn't go for it, angrier than I would've been if we'd have played badly and lost 2-0. Going backwards, BOWYER OUT ASAP.
