Of course there are better managers out there. Do I trust the owners to find one? Not at all.

I think Bowyer is good enough to keep us in the league and I would have taken that at start of season.

Where do you think we will be at the end of October given the fixtures we have? I think we are in real danger of becoming isolated in the bottom three by then if nothing is done.

I think not trusting the owners is a ridiculous excuse for keeping Bowyer who patently isn't up to the job. As I have said before using that logic means that you (and others) would keep Bowyer as manager as long as the Indians are here.

Bloody hell.

How much money would be reasonable for him to spend? We're under a transfer embargo and he's brought in player after player after player. That's pretty much a free rein. Has he been forced to sell anyone other than Dann and Gestede

still after all that we have no established first eleven, no pattern of play and NO CLUE.

Three points from fifteen and still people try to ratio rationalise it as poor hard done by Gary bowyer.

come on now

Not saying he has been hard done too, just trying to point out that he has not been throwing money around like Scrooge McDuck. Marshall is his highest buy at 1.5 million, be interested to see where that ranks in transfer values over last few years.

Think we will be between 17th-24th. I agree it is twisted logic, but I think he will keep us in the league and that's all I expect this team to do.

Yesterday was absolutely awful yet again. If my itinerary of going to rovers consisted of simply that, I just wouldn't bother at the minute. It's abject and woeful. Thankfully I meet up with mates, go for a beer etc and that's what keeps me going.

Couple of things I noticed yesterday. I was waiting outside the JW stand after kick off for my father who was late. Lee Williamson walked out of the players entrance in his rovers tracksuit and boot bag and walked off to his car. He looked upset. He probably feels somewhat aggrieved at not being able to get into the squad of a relegation threatened team when he hasn't done anything wrong from last season.

Secondly I thought the telegraph did a good and noticeable back page headline yesterday re cranking up the pressure on bowyer; I'm surprised it wasn't referred too on here. Back page headline was Crunch time for bowyer, and the article said his future is in the spotlight after 5 game winless run. I read into it that if we didn't win the telegraph believe bowyer should be potted, although the article didn't use those specific words. For once the telegraph stuck their head above the paraphet and conveyed exactly how the majority of rovers fans feel.

Be interesting to see what their headline is this morning, although I suspect I will be disappointed!

He walked down the tunnel before the end of the game that's for sure I saw that from my seat in the riverside. The snub was very clear too!

What made it worse was that the way Bowyer gestured to Marshall was almost as if he knew that he would get snubbed by him. Meaning he didn't want to go and greet him because he knew Marshall would blank him.

All is certainly not well in the camp.

This swapping and changing everyone doesn't keep them all happy. Its annoying them all. How the hell must Olsson feel?

' Don't bother kicking a ball in training Ollie, just learn to throw it further, there's a good lad '

So after 5 years of Venky misrule, this is what we are reduced to-----from a comfortable place in the Premier League to hoping we can stay in the 2nd tier.

Utterly shameful by all responsible. Utterly shameful by all who keep making excuses for them.

£25million+ a season for that

Surely even the loons can see that someone else could do better

They couldn't see it with Kean - is there any indication they've learned a thing from that period?

Lets put all the woes into some context - yes as an attacking force Bolton were woeful - however you have to acknowledge their defensive prowess. So far only Boro away have scored more than one past them - and those fixtures include Derby and Forest. They came with a game plan - and in truth it worked.

I know some people on here wouldn't give Lowe the time of day - but personally I was shocked last night at his lack of confidence. Yes he had a poor match - but I don't think I have ever seen him so lacking in confidence.

Personally not too worried about possession stats - as lots of Bolton possession was from keeper to defenders and back again.

Penalties - first have seen given, but he was easy to go down and it looked more of a stumble - second was cheating.

Second half atmosphere was best or a while - but very quiet first half.

Bowyer - should he go - of course, I believe we still have some decent players - but doubt they are being used in the correct way. Having said that - some interesting changes this season - like leaving Conway and Marshall up front when defending corners. Last point - for all those that think Lowe is GB's favourite - personally don't think he would have played if Apkan had been fit.

Of course he would. Evans would have been the one dropped if Akpan had been fit.

Also, Bolton are not the only team we've struggled to score against this season so I think it's a stretch to suggest their defensive prowess is the reason we looked poor going forward, even with our top scorer back in the team.

Why is everyone happy with avoiding relegation . After the Ipswich game we got told top 6 and hopefully top 2.?

I'd wager that is a comment which will have been made by half the clubs in the land. If you chose to swallow it Abbey then that's up to you but you really are old enough to know better.

As for the match. First half was dire, second half was better and more exciting but only because the tempo was raised and not the quality. Rhodes, Evans and Marshall were absolutely abysmal throughout. Embarrassingly so too! Steele meanwhile must have spent the close season having it away with Mrs Bowyer. I was told Akpan is injured but I've really no idea why Evans was selected before Guthrie and Williamson. Ben Marshall looks like he has 'gone' imo. He seems to be a shuffling disinterested figure and did anybody think the sky audience could see a £14m striker anywhere? Steve Gibson should be having a show down meeting with Karanka asap to question his thinking and ask him why he wanted him to stump up a King's ransom for JR! No good crying over spilt milk but we are putting some good crosses into the box which would have given us a comfortable win if only we'd sold Rhodes and doubled Gestede's wages. Years ago it was drummed into us that the best way to beat the keeper was to head a cross downwards! Nobody had any silly useless badges then either! Our lot appear to possess the sloping brows of neanderthal man.

The Ref was hopeless. No doubt cos of the Sky TV cameras he felt the need to get on the box by issuing cards like confetti. Has nobody told him that the best referees rarely need to use them and are rarely noticed?

To summarise if that's what a Quarter of a Billion pounds thats £250,000,000.00!!! looks like these days then the world has gone stark staring mad and I can only admire and applaud the Walker Trust for getting themselves out of the asylum. Jack would surely be proud of them.

Not making any excuses for the owners. I despise them and want them out ASAP. I would sooner side with Bowyer than the owners, that's all.

Indeed so. I doubt anyone is making excuses but we have to look forward. Recriminations like this now are pointless. We can only change the future NOT the past. I and a few others were looking into the future 5 years ago and we were loudly shouted down.

What I don't get is how people can say that there are many teams similar to us (which I agree with) but the best we can expect is bowyer yo just keep us up. Surely if many teams are similar standard to us we should be aiming for a top half finish. Can't for the life of me see why bowyer isn't expected to perform decently if teams are no better than us.

Bloke at work said he would take 4th from bottom a few weeks ago..I couldn't believe my ears, baulked and shook my head in disbelief at his suggestion.

This is what we have been reduced to,expectations and standards have gone through the floor.

What the hell does that mean? Is this cops and robbers? Cowboys and Indians?

They're on the same bloody side. If you're content with Bowyer and narrowly staying up, you're happy with Venky's.

Are you sure you're not on the wind-up? I see you still have your dumb tapatalk signature.

I never said that we should by 2 or 3 goals firstly.

We have tried and put the effort in.

Marshall was awful and thats a concern.

I would start Barrow on the right and Lawrence in the hole. Guthrie has to start.

Effort FFS that was absolutely garbage and we deserved to get beat

Unfortunately under this clown it will be Fleetwood Wigan Bury next season followed by Accrington Stanley a few seasons after he needs to go asap

It means I trust Bowyer more than the owners to pick the right successor.

In our current predicament I am happy to stay in the league but like anyone I want a promotion push. I don't think Bowyer is the man for that but we are far from a promotion side.

And a lovely final point on my signature, gutted I don't know you in real life, really am, you seem like such a wonderful individual.

Correct but it is what we are. We have to deal with it and not constantly look back and seek recriminations..

Is he beyond criticism then?
