Horrible display. I thought we loomed like 11 stand alo e individuals, certainly not a team. Did we ever string 3 passes together. I know Abbey don't like him but I thought Koita gave us some energy that we were seriously lacking up front. I would not call it an open goal either, granted he should be hitting the target but there was plenty of bodies and looked like he was going for the top of the goal to avoid the bodies. Shame about his first touch.

Lowe, what is it he does, he runs around staying just out of reach of the ball never seems to even pressure the man on the ball he's just there.

Why did Bowyer go with that line up at home. Better the devil you know? Playing like we are with Bowyer not even trying to take the game to them at home preferri g to be cautious it all points to relegation fodder. At least we kept a clean sheet albeit against a team who can mot score and had it not been for Duffy Donkey Heskey would have had his obligatory goal. We truly are atrocious.

Ben Marshall looks like he left Ewood some time ago. Looks lime he does not want to be here.

Guthrie looks like he has already lost what he might have had, supremely de-motivated by Bowyer picking Lowe ahead of him I'm sure. Im sure he figures what's the point GB gon a pick JL no matter what. Has Bowyer even once benched lowe.

Change needs to be made in the next day or so and a QUALIFIED manager brought in or we are watching league one footy next seaso

Why do you choose to criticise Lowe and don't mention Evan's performance.

Have you always been this impatient with new signings? Genuine question.

Players need time to gel, they do need at least a few games to get into the rhythm!

By all means 'he's had a bad game', 'he hasn't impressed me so far', but to decide people are useless after one game, I'll be honest is pathetic. Imagine if Shearer had a poor debut!!!

he didn't though did he?

Tell you who was pants for months and came up real trumps though..... Tim Sherwood. Oh and David Bentley too although I feel that was planned by Hughes to diddle Arsenal and get him on the cheap.

He really doesn't have many friends at the club does he. You'd think our director of communications would have a quiet word.

No I don't usually. He was just so appallingly bad, I couldn't see any future for him. After 5, am I wrong?

As for the Shearer comparison, that fails on all levels! Laughed out loud at that one!

I think you might have to eat your words. I see good balance and ability in him plus a decent work ethic. On a couple of occasions last night he simply made the wrong decision to shoot when he should have passed.

I understand they saw lots of potential in him at Villa but his temperament was a problem. Whether he's calmed down by now I don't know.

I'm struggling to come to terms with people arguing that we should keep the man who's taken us into the bottom 3 because if he gets sacked, we may appoint somebody worse.

It's just surreal, there's no other word for it.

Really? Just think Kean>>>Berg>>>Appleton.

If it's generally accepted we improved on Appleton with Bowyer, why would we not continue the upward trend, as we hear time and time again from Venky's sympathisers that they've learned their lessons after being led astray by the bad men at Kentaro/SEM?

Edit!(original post deleted)

I had a bit of a rant their about a particular player for not performing at his best, then realised bollards to that, its down to the manager to get the best out of player, something bowyer is mostly incapable of.

Bowyer out(now whilst there's time to find and bring in a replacement)

Evans had a shot at least and I did not focus on him as I did Lowe. I have never really had issue with Lowe so last night I chose to try to watch him a little closer. However you are right to a degree Evans at least put in a foot from time to time. That midfield as a unit was pretty much non existant and its mere selection is a bit damning on Bowyers defence. Was Hope injured? To me and I could be being unfair Lowe just looks like he is actually avoiding the game. Why was Duffy chewing him out?

Failure to track back and defend properly. It didn't work because Lowe later lost Heskey and Duffy had to make the save again.

Every striker could say that. Also yesterday he did have some decent service. Lots of good balls into the box, and he missed hitting the target with a relatively simple header. If he isn't going to do the spade work and actually make things happen then he has to take virtually every chance that comes his way. By his standards he is having a lean spell there is no question about that and when JR isn't scoring we are effectively down to 10 men. With delfouneso and koite looking lively he has to watch out for his place, GB has to pick his two best form strikers which he hasn't done in the past for whatever reason :glare: Also has Marshall with Lawrence and Conway for me in current pole position.

He wasn't good and he wasn't poor. Average energetic performance sprinkled with a few good things and a few bad ones. The ones I chose to mention were stand out poor.

Think everyone agrees Lowe was garbage - including Duffy. Yet you think he was ok... Don't agree with Parson often but he clearly cares about the club and will say when any player is poor.

Actually I need to stop biting your WUM tactics. Soon as I figure out ignore that'll be sorted.

Bowyer really cannot help himself can he? He has to include the words "right good go" in every interview.

Absolute tosh Gordon, imo you've backed yourself so far into a corner with your OTT criticism of Rhodes that you're now making yourself look rather silly by promoting the alleged qualities of dollops like Brown and Delfouneso in comparison.

Delfouneso "lively"? A blind man on a galloping horse could see he's a complete and utter dud and yet he's the only one of the summer signings getting any meaningful game time. It's almost like GB is trying to get himself sacked.

As for Rhodes, not his best game last night, but crucially at least he was getting on the end of the chances to miss them. I suspect that's not something you'll ever be able to say about Delfouneso.

Similarly, you seem to have backed yourself into a corner by insisting Lowe is a decent midfielder. Everyone else about from you and GB seems to be seeing something different entirely.

Correct. Both he and Evans were ball watching at the time and seemed to be leaving the Bolton player to each other. As for losing Heskey, I'd have to see it again but Heskey wasn't his man to watch really was he? Anyway the fault for that lay squarely with Raya patting that cross down to Heskey. He really should have been aware enough to let that cross go as there was no one behind him and it would most likely have gone out for a throw in.

Judging from the replay Lowe should have been covering Heskey, but he was miles away ball watching again. Wouldn't be surprising if Duffy had another go after that, he and the other defenders simply cannot trust the defensive midfielders to give them any cover whatsoever.

It's quite simple I know what I'm talking about Simon. :tu: You question my judgement how about yours? You really rated John Curtis who left us for a career tramping around the lower divisions and better still you tried to convince us all that we should have binned off Brad Friedel in 2004!

btw it's currently Delfouneso 2 Rhodes 0 isn't it? ^_^

In your opinion....and one that think's were historically a 2nd and 3rd tier yo-yo club....still cracks me up that.

Rovers not currently in the bottom 3. What crisis?

Looks like you're going to find out soon enough. Lets see if you are still having a good laugh about it in 10 years time.

and how many games has Rhodes played so far this Season?

We're currently lying 4th from the bottom, in dire need of quality throughout the squad, and we have a striker who boro were willing to pay c£12m for - when in reality he's worth nothing like that. What a ridiculous situation we've got ourselves into.

If he stays though Den, and he gets some service it could be the difference between relegation and staying up!

So we'll basically be back to where we were before Bowyer took over, except under an embargo this time. Great.

I don't suggest selling him now KH. Well to be honest I'm past caring really. Just had an email from the supporters trust saying basically how frustrated they are - I'm the same.

However, we should have made sure that we didn't get into the position of entering a transfer embargo with a vastly overpriced striker who we could have got big money for, playing in a squad bereft of real quality. Been saying that for yonks and now it's so obvious don't you think?
