Damien Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Very interesting and that would fit with the digs he's made at supporters in postmatch interviews. Sounds like he's a touch paranoid. As Shaun says, it doesn't really matter if he's a nice bloke or not, but it's annoying when folk who don't know him from Adam proclaim that he is. Exactly! And up until that game I had no reason to think one way or the other. I was just shocked to hear that he could blow up so easily over such an innocuous comment! Anyway, regardless of his charm or lack of, we still need a 'manager' who can take us forward and hopefully back into the upper echelons of the football pyramid! I am anxiously awaiting Friday's game, we win and we definitely keep GB but at least we have our first win... We lose... And we could still keep GB and we fall further behind the pack!

den Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 I don't know if they said that or not but its implicit in everything they do. However, GB clearly listed it as the vital feature of his job. Some months ago now but attracted many comments on here, and plenty from me! Oh I agree with that 47er. It's obvious they've always planned to sell players as soon as they're worth anything - they sold an entire premier league squad as soon as they arrived. I just don't think it's down in print as Gav says it is.Oh - and I remember every one of those sales being defended by posters on here. They still do defend those sales and even the sacking of the then manager.
Backroom DE. Posted August 26, 2015 Backroom Posted August 26, 2015 I will not join in the hysteria and vitriol surrounding Gaz's tenure because I believe that they've done a good job overall and are undeserving of the abuse. The so-called "hysteria" and suggestions of abuse are total myths IMO. As far as I'm told there is no real dissention at Ewood and I doubt Gary or anybody else at the club cares what a group of 25-30 fans are saying on an internet message board.
mustard Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 I've often wondered whether Gary is such a nice chap. Personally, I think the 'ever so well's and 'right good go's are his way of poking fun at the fans. Maybe he is just terribly limited in his vocabulary, however I'm not so sure.

Think it's just a vocabulary of platitudes he has in his armory when he's on camera. He's very uncomfortable with a camera in his face and often I think his overuse of these terms is almost a comfort blanket for him.
Feniscowles Blue Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 It's the language academy staff use when addressing parents
JHRover Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 We can't have it both ways. One of the criticisms often directed at Bowyer is that he is 'too nice'. That he doesn't have the nasty streak required to be a top manager and that he is too pally with the players and opposition, that this is reflected in his managerial style and is one of the reasons why he has to go and be replaced by someone who can upset some people. Now we're getting rumours that he isn't a very nice man because of something he might have said to a supporter. So which one is it? If he's been horrible to a supporter then perhaps that suggests he can be a tough guy behind the scenes with the players. In the end it doesn't matter. I couldn't care less whether he is the nicest man in the world or a truly nasty piece of work. He's a football manager and should be judged on results on the pitch and league position. At the moment neither are good enough and until they improve then he will be under big pressure.
SoldierMo Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Well shebby just tweeted judan ali on way to a job in uk and #talksinindia
JHRover Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Well shebby just tweeted judan ali on way to a job in uk and #talksinindia Anyone got a link to this as I can't find it? Singh does seem to have about 5 different twitter accounts.
Backroom Madon Posted August 26, 2015 Backroom Posted August 26, 2015 This is his active account and does look very legit. I am seriously worried. Anyone got a link to this as I can't find it? Singh does seem to have about 5 different twitter accounts. @serbgethsingh
tomphil Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Amazing how Ali's name suddenly pops up again. I reckon it's nothing more than an attempt to put the frighteners on fans to stop them having a go at GB. All the stupid @#/? of a few years ago is threatening to boil up again. Fuel for the 'it's better the devil you know' people.
JHRover Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 This is his active account and does look very legit. I am seriously worried. @serbgethsingh His last tweet on that account seems to be from April 27th. Nothing I can see about Judan Ali recently.
Iceman Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Just said on the BBC the Shrewbury haven't won a league game all season, Mr Bowyer that defeat in the cup was an absolute disgrace, you should hold your head in shame. to be fair, we havent won a league game either, but yeh Bowyer will probably say Shrewsbury will be fighting for promotion, and that they spent millions on their squad
Blackpool_Rover Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 His last tweet on that account seems to be from April 27th. Nothing I can see about Judan Ali recently. He has deleted the tweet. It was a picture of Ali's visa into India.
JHRover Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 to be fair, we havent won a league game either, but yeh Bowyer will probably say Shrewsbury will be fighting for promotion, and that they spent millions on their squad There seems to be a recurring theme here. Shrewsbury beat us in the Cup having just won promotion from League Two, yet haven't won a league game so far and look as though they will be at the bottom end of League One. Scunthorpe beat us in the Cup last season having just won promotion from League Two, yet went on a shocking run which saw their manager sacked and spent all season fighting relegation. Carlisle beat us in the Cup the year before and then went on to get relegated to League Two.
Iceman Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 in other words we cant beat pub teams to save our lives
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted August 26, 2015 Moderation Lead Posted August 26, 2015 It's nothing new for us to lose to a guff team in fairness.

G Somerset Rover Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Still no Bowyer interview in the LET or the official site this week. Is his presser today?
chaddyrovers Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Still no Bowyer interview in the LET or the official site this week. Is his presser today? Yes he presser is today. Probably this afternoon. His post match Brighton interview was on the Rovers player site.
Kamy100 Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Nothing weird in the no interviews this week as we have had no midweek game and his pre-match presser is today. The big question is that will they (Rovers press office) tell journos that they are not able to ask able questions RE Gary being sacked or not?
cesus Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Whether they are allowed or not, we could all probably give his stock answers in the next 2 minutes. Mine would be - I've heard nothing from the owners so I've just been on the training pitch working hard doing my daily job. They've all been magnificent this week! No point asking the question really.
chaddyrovers Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 I wonder if Ken Lawrence will be at Bowyer's presser today?
Kamy100 Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 I wonder if Ken Lawrence will be at Bowyer's presser today? He'll be there, he has taken over from Martin Blackburn as the East Lancashire reporter for the Sun so covers PNE, Rovers, Bolton, Burnley and Blackpool,
