I still remember the treatment that Andy Cryer got from Messers Agnew and Kean after the LT's front page lead "time to go Steve". I doubt that Ken will get any such treatment under the current regime.

That was a great front page, albeit many months too late.

Nothing weird in the no interviews this week as we have had no midweek game and his pre-match presser is today.

The big question is that will they (Rovers press office) tell journos that they are not able to ask able questions RE Gary being sacked or not?

If you're going, Kamy.. it won't be dull.

Shame you can't sneak a body language expert in with you :P

What treatment did Cryer get from Them please?

Derek sat on him while Paul flicked his ears, Steve gave him a rather nasty Chinese burn. All rather unseemly and another low point in Rovers recent history. It's no wonder the LT didn't repeat that front page story.

Brilliant Bob :)

Not sure that the affair is relevant to the upcoming game given that it was a cocked up piece based on a hunch given to a journo 230 miles from the action

Thanks Kamy.

Are you attending today?

Unfortunately not, Rovers no longer allow freelancers or websites like this to attend, even though I have accreditation. This increasingly the case for a lot of clubs, they just allow the established press/writers.

Not that I am bothered as we can get the content from other channels and bar the odd exception what is asked at these pressers is very tightly controlled.

Really ? Freedom of speech . I'd ask the questions .

Back in reality..... Hope they don't bar any questions related to that; would be interesting to hear Bowyer speak about it. Although, I imagine it will be the same old platitudes of 'it's been business as usual' etc etc.

This is really funny. They are football clubs not the UN. They really are a deluded bunch.

Bowyer at press conference

Gary Bowyer says 'sacking report' came as 'complete shock'. #rovers boss, who was in good spirits, says he has not spoken to owners Venky's.

Gary Bowyer: "Not at all (spoken to #rovers owners). It was a conversation that didn't need to be had so we've not had it."

A conversation that didn't need to be had? Okay then.

If I was GB I'd be quite concerned by the lack of communication from the owners. No interest in seeing him during the summer, and now no reassurance despite widespread rumours he is due to be sacked... doesn't bode well.

How arrogant, it's not for him to decide if the conversation needs to be had.

Glad he's in good spirits whilst we are In the bottom 3.

Self preservation mode engaged.

I think it's all bravado and bluster from our erstwhile leader. I don't really think he will have endured anything like this as an Academy or U21 coach. I think the pressure will be too much to bear for him if we lose tomorrow.

What a strange comment.

I think if I was Bowyer I would be on to 'Boss' pdq asking WTF is going on.

I think it suggest that he knows he's on borrowed time.

What do you expect him to say? "The report was almost right. If we lose this game I am out. Triffic. Magnificent"

Agreed. Any manager in the same situation would have said exactly the same and played it down. Bottom line is that he is not sacked so for him there is no need to discuss an inaccurate news report. The only time to comment is when you are sacked.

Something reasonable such as.. "Football is a results business, results haven't been what we wanted and obviously must improve. I haven't spoken to the owners so I don't know where the story came from"

Simple, stop arselicking the owners and just be honest and grow some balls!
