[Archived] Bowyer Most Likely Not Sacked

Recommended Posts

Agreed. Any manager in the same situation would have said exactly the same and played it down. Bottom line is that he is not sacked so for him there is no need to discuss an inaccurate news report. The only time to comment is when you are sacked.

For the sake of our club, let's hope that is sooner rather than later.

Morphing into Kean by the day.

Let's face it, whatever Bowyer said today was going to be twisted by most on here. If he had said he'd spoken to the owners then next question would have been "what was said". Keep stum, talk about the game tomorrow and get out - that would have been his game plan. By the sounds of it that's exactly what he has done.

Still, "Haters Gon' Hate" as Abbey keeps churning out.

You are wrong, nobody really hates GB just the fact he is as many say morphing into Kean, not once in the last six months of playing has he ever said sorry guys i picked the wrong team my fault, that's what we as fans cant stand, we know he is out of his depth/ comfort zone now, as does he, but hey i would not want to give up a reported £600.000 a year, honourable my backside.

Fixed. I wonder if he could answer? ;)

Then again he could have said, I am still here, the owners have not sacked me yet, I will try and beat Bolton on Friday by being positive.

So if GB keeping his job means you are right I can see that not lasting too long now.

The so called haters probably want what is best for the club, unless some are off the digitally challenged variety

What did you expect him to say? "yes, I was very worried and got on the phone to Mrs D straight away"?

His time is nearly up but let's not pick up on the petty things.

Something less arrogant would have been advisable.

The lads have been magnificent this week according to Gary, what have they been doing?

Cutting down on the Haribo and fizzy pop so they are not ill for Friday, and apparently a couple of them didn't concede on the foosball table at Brockhall , Browny managed to score on FIFA with his Real Madrid team against Southport and fonzey won the dancing competition.

If that interview makes it onto the official site then those who want Bowyer gone (me included) need to worry. For now it's just comments with regards to Rhodes.

Not really, it won't be up to him to decide whether and when he should sacked.

Usual platitudes from Lennon, eg doing a good job, doesn't deserve sacking, blah blah blah.

Crunch night tomorrow and inspite of his trying to shrug off the speculation, I'm sure Bowyer realises it.

Good job I (and my partner in crime) weren't there then, they would have got battered out of sight

How arrogant, it's not for him to decide if the conversation needs to be had.

Glad he's in good spirits whilst we are In the bottom 3.

Self preservation mode engaged.

It probably is bravado but you could argue that he's showing that he trusts the owners.

The conversation that "didn't need to be had" was probably "have I been sacked" rather than "are you happy with how everything is going or should I be sacked".

But in fairness it could be either, such is the seeming impunity that Bowyer enjoys at Ewood (far more than any other manager at any other club). A brass neck in a cut throat business, one might say.

I don't think Bowyer is morphing into Kean but I do think that the fans' perception of Bowyer is rapidly morphing in the fans' perception of Kean - which is potentially just as bad.

Maybe He had already spoken to Mrs D/owners after the Brighton game but before the Sun Story(which alot of fans believe including me) and she back him.

Kamy, do you know how the Sun Reporter Ken Lawrence was treated by Bowyer, Myers and Rovers today? I hope not like Cryer was by Kean and Agnew.

Listening to the interview, i think it's just bad wording by GB, i think he meant that it's not something he would ring the owners about - more that they would be contacting him if there was a problem.

I don't agree that theres no more pressure than normal on tomorrow's game, although I can see why he'd want to say differently.

Very much doubt he spoke to her on Saturday at all.

"Hi Gary, just calling to say that despite losing today and the awful start to the season I just wanted to say that we really really back you"

Nah.

Nah.

It wouldn't be the first time would it?

We spent an entire season in the bottom 3 under Kean, faced protests, boycotts, negative press coverage and she didn't sack him.

Who knows whether things will be done differently this time if we're fighting relegation.
