"With us having played Saturday-Tuesday for the past few weeks it will allow us to get some real work done on the training ground with everybody.

I can just see it now. "Right lads, the training ground's looking shabby, I want some nice herbaceous borders put in, some flower beds and a sunken garden. Lovely Jason, if you could run around making a nuisance of yourself without actually doing anything, it'll give you something to do. Nice smiles everyone, and remember, just put a lot of effort in - if you beggar it up, at least no-one can fault your hopeless toil."

"We are still a new group so this extra time at Brockhall will allow the lads to gel further."

Seriously? Who writes this guy's scripts? Still a new group? No, it was mainly the old failures who played in the last game. It's just a shuffles of a dated pack each week, with some random journeymen bolted on.

"The staff that we have here are always on the phone and chasing things, but it has to be the right fit for us of course."

Where would we be without the noble effort, tirelessly applied with scant regard for awareness of what you're actually doing.

How this guy maintains his self-respect is beyond me.

"We're trying hard, but we're so hard done by." In other words, "I haven't got a bloody clue what I'm doing, but I'll keep shuffling the pack and excusing failure with hard work until I get binned. 'Cos there's no way I'm giving up my compo."

TBH...

I cant believe he has not resigned yet, he took charge on three occasions was it? He (Gary) knows what bad spells do to a club and when managers are out of the depth, he saw enough in that position. If he was sacked his stock is damaged severely, by taking the resignation route now he could easily walk into a league one job in the near future, which leads me into thinking Venky's are pleased with him and this has been fed back to GB.

Make no mistake, i'm grateful to him and Terry Mac in stabilizing us but to be brutal they've served there purpose now and we are going backwards despite "Giving it a right good go".

Bloke needs to leave ASAP.

Mirrors my feelings.

On the caretaker stints,

Think it was after we thumped forest around new year time,

I remember feeling rather suspicious at his insistence that he (paraphrasing)

"didn't want the job and it's pressures and his academy role was rewarding."

People in the car with me agreed he was desperate for it.

A fake humility that just didn't sit right with me.

Who can blame him, but I think my mis trust bedded in then.

Also a few weeks after when we played wolves on Sky, and Murphy was calling him " Gaz" repeatedly.

Didn't think he was cut out for it.

I warmed to him, after he kept us up and thought he may succeed (even with his 1st squad).

It became obvious that he probably wouldn't early on (Doncaster away) and

The fact remains it's been a slow decline with no lessons learned,

And even the fake or uneasy humility evaporated pretty quick too.

I'd like to read or hear his early quotes again,

I bet they'd be comparisons to be made with his recent deflections.

I wish someone had the time and capabilities of compiling a "right good go" count.

See how many times he's said it in interviews over the last few years.

Whilst your at it Mustard, why don't you count how many times he's criticised the players?

If I was GB, and I'd read half of the nasty personal stuff on here, and half of the uproar towards his phrases, I'd be doing it to wind you lot up.

Before anyone jumps on me for that comment, not all criticism of GB is unfounded, unnecessary, nasty and personal, but it only takes a flip through one or two topics to find quite a lot, even 12/18 months ago.

I personally think the interviews and press conferences are just boring. Endemic of a man who lacks confidence and experience of answering questions in front of a camera. When or if he starts criticising players, I'll be more worried.

It still seems like a ridiculous reason to get wound up though. What do we expect the club to say? If they say the correct thing but it's still wrong on the pitch, would it even matter?

If you are expecting frank explanations of what's going wrong and how it's going to improve that's fair enough but I hope you don't mind if I prioritise my opinion around performances and results.

Thus far this season, not good enough.

Meow Jbizzle.

I do think some of the criticism directed his way is a bit much, though I think it's unfair of you to tar us all with the same brush.

I don't judge Bowyer on his interviews. I judge him on what happens on the pitch, his tactics, his subs, his transfers, etc. All the things required to make a manager. I have been less than impressed for a long time.

As for the "right good go"s. I find them infuriating and I don't see why it should be an issue if he's pulled up on it by some. I don't think he's nervous in front of the camera. I think he's a man with (to put it politely) a very limited vocabulary but if he is poking fun at the fans then more shame him. For the record, I think he's cleared 150 in his tenure. Perhaps more.

As for criticising the players, he's done it on occasion. He's always ruing missed chances or defensive errors, often fairytale excuses that the players must get confused over sometimes. He's never once admitted to getting it wrong tactically nor taken any sort of blame for a performance/run of results. Usually he deflects everything that's asked by talking about FFP or something unrelated, very much to the frustration of the fans.

What matters is on the pitch and that ain't good enough, but the man's interviews are still open to criticism. Hell, Kean got it for all the bull he spouted, why shouldn't Bowyer be pulled up for the same? Just because he's supposedly a nice guy?

One that has reared it's head early this year is the fixture schedule. Bemoaning weekend and midweek schedule as an excuse as to why his team look like a disorganised unit on the pitch. The fact that it's the same for the other 23 clubs seems irrelevant.

This isn't even getting into claiming we have a small squad one minute (over TWO full teams plus youth isn't small) then saying because of the numbers we have he just had to give others a run in the cup............

You can get away with bull when your're performing.

Good post there Beans, I would imagine most of BRFCC relate to this in some form.

A perfect summing up of the season so far

It’s come to a pretty pass when the most improved player at the club, among a good number who've gone backwards under Bowyer, has evidently footballed himself back onto the bench.

If only Olsson could cob it 70 yards!

I keep coming on here everyday in the hope that he'll have been potted or someone ITK has heard something about it being imminent, but no, nothing.

In fact I think it sums up everyone's mood with the sheer lack of posts over the last few days.

For me, he has to go now whilst we can still make something of this season and this fortnight break was the perfect window in which to do it and get in a new man.

The football is horrendous and has been for at least the last 18mths. After the Bolton game I was asked on individual occasions by Liverpool, Nobbers, Boro and Manure fans if that was how we usually play. Comments of "Most boring game I've ever watched", "Is that the norm at Ewood?", "How can you watch that sh!t, week in week out?"

Don't get me wrong, I'm used to getting grief about Rovers but it was different, I'd no defence (a bit like Rovers), all I could say was "yep, that's pretty much it and has been for a while"

The way they asked was different too, it was almost like pity for a terminally ill relative!

I'm grateful to Bowyer for what he has done in steadying things but it's now time for change.

Someone please release us from this hell whilst we can still make something of this season.
