Pedro Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 Big Sam was on £3.5m a year at West Ham. I reckon he'd get this lot promoted in two seasons though. No chance of it happening though.

gumboots Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 I just keep checking whenever I can get Internet access to see if bowyer has gone. I know we could get worse but I can't help feeling it's a roll of the dice that has to be made. I know I'm not there this season, but it doesn't stop the results hurting.
Stuart Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 sam seen having steak at hungry horse Which one?
Stuart Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 There's no answer to that. I'm guessing he wasn't actually in the Fernhurst though.
patrickvalery Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 Short wouldn't be my choice, but I'd prefer him to GB. As a player, Short has shown me:professionalism, determination, pride, courage and leadership. If he brought just a couple of those qualities, we'd improve. What characteristics has GB shown you? I agree that short isn't the right man. But I wouldn't prefer him to bowyer. if we're to change then it needs to be someone totally out of the picture. Someone who will give the players the incentive to give an extra 10% for no other reason than to impress. The key is finding a manager who can continue to extract that 10% for longer than the usual 5-10 game bounce.

patrickvalery Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 Maybe just someone who is willing to let the side off the leash. I thought it was telling that Robinson said "knowing the manager as I do, he'll be happy with a point".
patrickvalery Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 By the way, I don't want people to think I'm some turncoat. I've been one of the few who's backed bowyer. I have the utmost respect for what he's done for our club and it still sickens me to hear people make personal insults towards him. As it goes I think he'll have us safely upper bottom half of the league this year.I do believe the side needs time to get to know each other. But, and it doesn't sit easy with me saying this, I'm not sure that the players in this side couldn't be forged into a more cohesive unit. A club, every so often, needs a change of direction. A new voice and new ideas. I really hope bowyer can prove me wrong because I really like the bloke. But I'm starting to question it.

He didn't know I was a Rovers fan til the end of the night. I judge him on the following: He's an awful football manager. And his ass covering has really disappointed me. People saying "he's got the best interests of the club at heart..." Should look how long he's been at rovers. Not long in the grand scheme of things.
JAL Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 I like Ainsworth alot and he is a Blackburn lad/fan who has managing Wycombe and done very well there considering the financial problems.Your having a laugh !Again

I don't believe he's guilty of anything other than self preservation. Some people feel that's comparable to kean, but keans actions were fraudulent (allegedly). Every manager in the land is guilty of self preservation.

chris_h Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 Your having a laugh ! Again Was that Tourette's or do you actually have a point? What is it about Gareth Ainsworth being suggested as a potential new manager that is 'having a laugh'? If you reply try to give your reply some thought. I understand that is asking a lot of you and will be difficult but give it a go. Have a couple of Neurofen and a glass of water on standby.

Lower league player from a lower league division as manager Chris?Have a word with yourself please.

RibbleValleyRover Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 Short would be an absolute disaster, please just stop that nonsense talk. Promoting from within never works and this club has been burned badly twice in the last 5 years going in that direction. It has to be an external hire this time (if he does ever go).

Mani Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 I'm not sure how many Mcartheys there are out there. Pearson is the standout choice...plays committed forward moving football and has the fire to drive us out of this lull... Failing that, I would go for an established manager in any division with promotions on his cv and an obvious footballing brand. I cannot get over how we still do not have a football identity as a team. I would 100% not appoint a foreign manager or an inexperienced one.
the original david brent Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Lower league player from a lower league division as manager Chris? Have a word with yourself please. To describe him as a 'lower league' player is harsh and arguably inaccurate. He played in the premier league for Wimbledon for a start. But if you don't read the threads you will not find these things out.

I agree so for Venkies it will be an inexperienced foreigner.
