yoda Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Derick Dougan, this going to be a long topic !
Rover_Shaun Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Santa Cruz? Rudy Gestede? Chris Sutton? To partner King Al Tim Flowers? Brad?
Waggy76 Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Derick Dougan, this going to be a long topic ! Suspect, Cheyenne was the original Judas !
jim mk2 Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Didn't Chris Sutton win medals with Celtic ? Craig Bellamy - brilliant for us, disappeared at Liverpool. Hoilett - one of highest rated young players in Europe with us, now QPR can't sell him. Samba - took the Russians' filthy lucre and disappeared off the football map. Bentley must be the best example though - from England squad with us to Tottenham reserves and oblivion.
Rover_Shaun Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Scotland isn't really an improvement on winning league 1
wolfie Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Santa Cruz? Rudy Gestede? Chris Sutton? To partner King Al Tim Flowers? Brad? Rudy? They've only played 4 games
yoda Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Rudy? They've only played 4 games It's the hope that gets you
T J Hooker Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Im going to throw a couple of managers into the mix, souness and also hughes(until he got back to basics at Stoke)
yoda Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Im going to add souness to that and hughes until he got back to basics at Stoke er, its ex Rovers players !
T J Hooker Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Eeer! Well one of them still counts then doesn't it.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted September 4, 2015 Moderation Lead Posted September 4, 2015 Hughes won the League Cup here didn't he? Then he finished playing as I recall.
yoda Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Eeer! Well one of them still counts then doesn't it. No, see K-hod's post
T J Hooker Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Stephen Warnock, probably our best natural left back since le saux(imo obviously) and was on the fringes of the england squad.
J*B Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Damien Duff Yeah, other than the two Premier League medals and FA Cup (?) Medal. I'm sure he looks back, knowing he was managed by Mourinho, won titles, was paid handsomely and played win and against the best players in the world, and thinks: "shouldn't have left the Rovers"
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted September 4, 2015 Moderation Lead Posted September 4, 2015 Duff won a couple of trophies at Chelsea I think, but by and large that's right. Good shout with Warnock TJ!
Pedro Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 I'm sure Duff won back to back Premier League titles and Bellamy won the league cup and was runner up in Champions League. They did well after leaving.
T J Hooker Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Hughes won the League Cup here didn't he? Then he finished playing as I recall. Sorry for the confusion, i meant they where theyd both done exceptionally well as managers here then both left for "bigger clubs" with more money to spend and both failed(though like i say hughes did regain his rep after leaving city)
Baz Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Stephen Warnock, probably our best natural left back since le saux(imo obviously) and was on the fringes of the england squad. He went to the world cup after signing for villa.(Admittedly didn't play, but at least he went).
