JHRover Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Brentford have just sacked their manager. Always a bizarre appointment but they are mid-table at the moment so seems odd to sack him right now. Wouldn't be surprised to see them go for a Poyet type new manager. Actually seems like they have decided to appoint Lee Carsley until the end of the season.

Warburton and Big Sam, brothers in arms, both sacked without good reason both clubs now suffering as a result.
AllRoverAsia Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Do you actually follow football? WHU suffering in 3rd position in the PL? I'll have some of that. (and I'm a Big Sam fan!)

AllRoverAsia Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 I was talking about Blackburn Rovers and Brentford, why would I talk about West Ham when they're manager Bilic? Oh I see now. Sorry but you're wording was not at all clear, to me anyway.
Walney Blue Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Oh I see now. Sorry but you're wording was not at all clear, to me anyway. My fault I need to be clearer.
Amo Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 My fault I need to be clearer. I'd say you're pretty transparent as it is.
Walney Blue Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 I'd say you're pretty transparent as it is. I have no idea why you keep trying to fight me, but if its pistols at dawn you will lose me hearty.
martonrover Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Well I did say sacking season in the Championship was upon us ;-) The two clubs concerned don't have the pulling power to bag one of the decent out of work managers though. As much as our star has fallen I still believe we do.

Not my cup of tea, but his record at Rotherham isn't shabby at all. Who's gone? Brentford and Rotherham bosses.
martonrover Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Who's gone? Dijkhuizen from Brentford and Evans from Rotherham.
JBiz Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Does Khod still have his Brian Clough quote? The brentford chairman should especially hang is head in shame.

Some of the players would get a hell of a shock at training, that's for sure! Think, a little like Ince (though with more success) that style works best with lower league players in funnily enough lower leagues. But it did keep Rotherham up last season and our players definitely need something a lot less nice and pally down at Brockhall. Certainly someone I'd investigate if I were the powers that be at Ewood.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted September 28, 2015 Moderation Lead Posted September 28, 2015 Does Khod still have his Brian Clough quote? The brentford chairman should especially hang is head in shame. Yep
Amo Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Does that mean Uncle Jack should've resigned after sacking Hodgson?
chris_h Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Agreed, Not mine either but has something concrete on his CV in terms of achievement, which is more that can be said of Bowyer. Correct. Bowyer doesn't have tax evasion on his cv.
joey_big_nose Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Two wins in the next four games and I flip my vote to keeping him. What's other people threshold to change back to wanting him in the job?
Waggy76 Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Beating Burnley and Preston ....Would make me consider !
RibbleValleyRover Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Two wins in the next four games and I flip my vote to keeping him. What's other people threshold to change back to wanting him in the job? Promotion. If he can't get this team promoted then I can't back him. Mid-table mediocrity isn't good enough.
joey_big_nose Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Promotion. If he can't get this team promoted then I can't back him. Mid-table mediocrity isn't good enough. Well, that's a tough ask with our owners and situation. I doubt we will get anyone who will guarantee us promotion. My rationale is more along the lines of "is Venkys choice of a new manager likely to be an improvement on Bowyer?" Which is currently yes, but if we continue the run into mid table and look promising will switch to no.
Backroom DE. Posted October 4, 2015 Backroom Posted October 4, 2015 The squad we have is capable of a playoff push, and unless we're there or thereabouts my thoughts on Bowyer do not change. We have 2 wins out of 10, and only one player who can score goals on a consistent basis. That's a fragile situation.
