Baz Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 You just know we'll wait until the good 'uns are signed up by rival clubs then sack Bowyer.
broadsword Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 I'm trying to imagine a mix of shanks and nigel havers. Would it be a floppy haired Glasgow hardcase one nation tory Hugh Grant kinda guy? A balding socialist in chariots of fire? Having melding issues here
Rover_Shaun Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 This place truly is bonkers. Not long ago those happy with Bowyer lauded our top 6 squad assembled on buttons. Then when he stuffed that up twice it was "give him 10 games". Now it seems the stockholm syndrome truly has set in. The old adage "if you repeat the same thing often enough..." rings true as Bowyers constant FFP bleatings and imagined referee vandettas as a deflection from his total lack of managerial talent have been lapped up good and proper. Expectations. Ambition. And even fan pride is at rock bottom. Bonkers. Truly truly bonkers Will we even have 5 wins by xmas?
47er Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 If the owners are happy with finishing mid table(9th-16th) this season then Bowyer is the man for that. I would let him carry on in the job and I will back him. But if we want promotion then we need a new manager in cos Bowyer has done good job but just CANT take us that extra step and get us promote sadly. wish he could but he cant. I wouldn't be shock to see the Owner's advisors made contact with Jokanovic again(already have once according to media reports) now it's the international break and convince him to take the job. if we can't get him then lets made a shortlist and start speaking with them. my shortlist would be:- Nigel Pearson, Paul Lambert, Tim Sherwood, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Ian Holloway, Stuart McCall, Gareth Ainsworth, Dean Smith(Walsall manager) Deja vu-----again!
broadsword Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 Only one step between where we are now and promotion?

chaddyrovers Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 No Moyes in your list !No thanks..I still remember his comments when Kean was here. I would like Sherwood tbh. He would give the fans/club a lift and bring passion/leadership here. But would be very happy with Pearson, Jokanovic, Lambert, JFH. Unsure on Holloway but he has 2 promotions on his cv
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted November 8, 2015 Moderation Lead Posted November 8, 2015 Moyes would be the perfect manager for us. Though that Telegraph reporter is probably c0ck-teasing us... Sherwood? Have we learnt nothing?
McClarky Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 Moyes would be brilliant. Not a single chance of him coming though as he has experience and expertise. If GB goes I'm certain another novice will be appointed who will fail because the club isn't set up to suceed.
Ewooduknow Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 Moyes would be the perfect manager for us. Though that Telegraph reporter is probably c0ck-teasing us... Sherwood? Have we learnt nothing? Same goes for hasselbaink for me.

T J Hooker Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 why would a still relatively young manager with a cv like moyes(yes he failed at man u, but the fact he got the job there in the first place speaks volumes) choose to go to a struggling championship club? dont get me wrong we should definitely try and persuade him if he's available, but i think he'll just hold out for a prem job to come available jokanovic and lambert are my top two choices but even persuading one of them to take over would take some doing. what i dont want is a fruitcake like holloway, davis, warnock or a coach with no successful management stints on his cv
tomphil Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 That's what I like, logic and cold hard facts. Or, 'spoilt, premiership, spoon fed fans'... I think the spoilt tag could be aimed at a good few thousand stay aways who bailed after relegation and probably won't come back again. The majority who now still actually turn up will probably mostly be made up of those of us who were there pre Jack, taking away the young element and a few others of course. Don't tell Gordon though
gumboots Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 Actually my husband and I were discussing Moyes earlier today and, although we agreed he'd want a premiership job, how many prem teams are likely to change manager any time soon, apart from possibly Chelsea who wouldn't take him. A decent championship club is probably the best he could hope for. Failing that, he just might be tempted by one like Rovers. Doubt it but it is a possibility. and there are some of us who are not spoilt premiership fans, who stuck with things after relegation last time and this, who gave bowyer time but who eventually got so totally bored and frustrated that they couldn't bear to watch the garbage on offer any more because there was just not a single sign things would get better in any way any time soon.
Paul Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 You were right to be sceptical about the Raos but your'e dead wrong now. About what? I knew they were trouble then and they still are.
broadsword Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 They're not trouble , Paul. More like trobbell Or maybe Trroibckle Troobhell Trousers Twazzocks Bad news, that's what they are!
Mercer Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 Wouldn't touch Moyes with a s h I t t y stick. Dislike him both as a person and a football manager. Also, don't forget that this is the man who widely and publicly defended Kean.
Paul Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 I think the squad is a lot better than you portray. However either it is better and GB can't get the best out of it, or he has assembled a poor squad. Which is it? Remember that until last summer we hardly had to sell anyone and we were still failing to achieve getting near top 6. Steele, Hanley, Duffy, Rhodes, Marshall, Ollson, Henley, Spurr, Guthrie - the rest can leave anytime they like. So yes, he's assembled a poor squad Moyes would be an absolute dream Shaw must at least have a chat you think, probably not in Clitheroe though Compared to Bowyer Moyes may be a dream but my recollection is Everton were always the most boring, negative side to visit Ewood every season. I suspect though I'd be happy if he came.

AllRoverAsia Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Is Bowyer ''Agent Lawrence'' - When asked about the link to other clubs, Bowyer added: “Well we’ve started to teach him Spanish as apparently he’s been linked with Valencia. It’s simple – if you perform well, you attract interest, and he’s been playing fabulously for us.” He's trying to loan-out/sell other teams players now - utterly baffling, unless he's just plain stupid. http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/13953147.Tom_Lawrence_focusing_on_helping_Blackburn_Rovers_up_table_after_Valencia_link/?ref=mac

It can't be good for your health Asia, let it go pal, read a book, take up cooking, anything other than obsessing over what Bowyer says in the press. Only one step between where we are now and promotion? That's the spirit Bryan.

It's become addictive and definitely not enjoyable. Best to take an 'International Break' from Bowyerisms or at least dam well try.
Gav Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Try and make the perfect Soufflé, that should keep you occupied!
davulsukur Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 @MOgdenTelegraph: If David Moyes is sacked by @RealSociedadEN, could be bad news for Neil Lennon or Gary Bowyer. Bolton or Blackburn could tempt Moyes... For the love of God shelfy. Try to do your first and last good thing for the club and then bugger off. Not a chance Moyes would come here.
