AllRoverAsia Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Try and make the perfect Soufflé, that should keep you occupied! Apart from the Sharpe stories I haven't read much Bernard Cornwell. I like historical novels so that should keep me occupied for a while. Problem is I'm a speed reader but better Cornwell than Bowyer I think.

47er Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 About what? I knew they were trouble then and they still are. Edit, not getting involved!
Amo Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Not a chance Moyes would come here. Not with that attitude.
Mattyblue Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Wouldn't touch Moyes with a s h I t t y stick. Dislike him both as a person and a football manager. Also, don't forget that this is the man who widely and publicly defended Kean. Be amazed if he'd be interested, but this Kean stuff? For christ sake, it was the same guff pre and post match with every opposing manager, I couldn't care less. And on him as a manager, I recall the BRFCS brain squad pooh-poohing every possible link pre and post Ince; 'Allardyce?, long ball Bolton b*stard' 'McClaren? Wally with the Brolly' 'Laudrup, never done it in England' Moyes would be a real coup and a great statement of intent by the owners, ergo it won't happen.
Gav Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 David Moyes would never come here in a million years, it's the stuff of fantasy to even give it a moments thought.
gumboots Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 David Moyes would never come here in a million years, it's the stuff of fantasy to even give it a moments thought.I'm into fantasy. I've just come back from Disneyland Paris
Reedy You're A Star Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 David Moyes would never come here in a million years, it's the stuff of fantasy to even give it a moments thought. Good job noone thought like that in 1991 or we'd most likely not have had the best spell of success for many a decade. Not saying Moyes is in the same league as King Kenny, but if you think big and have a bit of ambition then you never know. The worst that can happen is he says no and we get stuck with Bowyer for a bit longer.

I would take 9 out of 10 available managers over Bowyer. We want some charisma, raw passion and enthusiasm to fire both the club and fans alike. Add a modicum of football nous and you then have a huge improvement on Bowyer.
A cup of beans Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Be amazed if he'd be interested, but this Kean stuff? For christ sake, it was the same guff pre and post match with every opposing manager, I couldn't care less. I admit I was more than irked at Moyes' criticism of us Rovers fans, and I took great satisfaction at his failure at Old Trafford. Even though it is pure fantasy land, for Rovers fans to not want Moyes to manage us on any basis is beyond bizarre.
JHRover Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Any highly rated manager would take a lot of persuading to come here. Not because of us being in the Championship, or even our financial state, but because they would want to be sure that the setup was right before coming here. Somebody like Jokanovic or Pearson will have offers coming in left right and centre over the course of this season, and therefore have no need to rush into joining the first club that makes them an offer. They can take their time before deciding on a club that they think will have the best conditions to work in. When you have clubs like Fulham and QPR on the look out for new managers, and compare their structures to ours, its absolutely laughable. They both have football people involved, like Les Ferdinand and Neil Warnock, clued up administrators like Alistair Macintosh, owners with passion for the sport and the wherewithal to progress their clubs. An aim and plan and money to bring in new players. What do we have at that level? Absentee owners might not be a problem to most managers, but who would want to work with the sham board of directors who don't know what the owners want, don't know when we'll be out of the embargo etc? Imagine Nigel Pearson sat round a table with Shaw and Myers. The meeting wouldn't last 2 minutes. Somebody like David Moyes will have numerous Premier League offers coming up over the next 12 months. If he gets sacked at Sociedad he can have a nice break in Spain before going to somewhere like Newcastle or West Brom or Norwich. His reputation might have been hurt over the last couple of seasons but he will still have a good name and has no need to risk his career further by dropping to basket case clubs like ourselves or Bolton, unless he's desperate for a new job. So Pearson/Lambert will go to QPR/Fulham, Jokanovic will stick it out at Maccabi before getting a top European job, and we'll plod along with sporadic news stories about our owners contemplating making a change that will probably never happen, and when it does we'll end up with some joker from League Two who is desperate for a crack at the Championship irrespective of the working conditions.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted November 9, 2015 Moderation Lead Posted November 9, 2015 He's mates with Shaw, so for Shaw not to even ask the question would be astonishing tbh. He's obviously got his number, Shaw was there at the Emporium with Moyes when that there was that altercation. Degsy, give him a text!

tomphil Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 You wouldn't want to be leaving Derek alone to sign off a David Moyes contract
Backroom Tom Posted November 9, 2015 Author Backroom Posted November 9, 2015 He's mates with Shaw, so for Shaw not to even ask the question would be astonishing tbh. He's obviously got his number, Shaw was there at the Emporium with Moyes when that there was that altercation. Degsy, give him a text! Exactly - it wouldn't ever come off but given they are Mates you have to think he'll ask cheekily!
gumboots Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 How would you ask a question though about a job that's probably not going to exist, unless you can somehow get a certain Indian woman to get rid of the present incumbent? btw If youve got a son or daughter who is star wars mad they can now train to fight Darth Vader at the Jedi academy at Disneyland. Best bit of the hols for my 7 year old star wars mad grandson

He has passion, man management skills, and would lift the club/fans as soon as he was appoint.
JHRover Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 I don't think the answer to our current situation is to appoint an inexperienced manager who has never worked at this level and never lasted more than a few months in a job. Same goes for a whole host of League Two managers that have been mentioned. A Premier League club wouldn't appoint a League One manager (apart from us with Paul Ince) so why should a Championship club appoint a League Two manager? Only one that has worked out is Rowett at Birmingham.

A Premier League club wouldn't appoint a League One manager (apart from us with Paul Ince) so why should a Championship club appoint a League Two manager? Only one that has worked out is Rowett at Birmingham. The most obvious reason is that they have possibly served their time and shown signs that they can replicate being a decent manager at a higher level, don't forget not all managers who were possibly coaches have the good fortune to have crackpot owners who promote them above their means because they are nice men, some have to work for it. Not thinking of any particular manager in league 1 or league 2 but some are working under real restrictions where the paying of 10k a week would see them get half a dozen players in for that, yes it's a different standard but you can only work with what you have and some are over achieving, its a gamble but so is appointing any manager
martonrover Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Personally I would take a risk on a manager who has won promotion with his club from League Two and then has them performing well in League One.
RevidgeBlue Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Is Bowyer ''Agent Lawrence'' - When asked about the link to other clubs, Bowyer added: “Well we’ve started to teach him Spanish as apparently he’s been linked with Valencia. It’s simple – if you perform well, you attract interest, and he’s been playing fabulously for us.” He's trying to loan-out/sell other teams players now - utterly baffling, unless he's just plain stupid. http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/13953147.Tom_Lawrence_focusing_on_helping_Blackburn_Rovers_up_table_after_Valencia_link/?ref=mac I don't think I've ever read anything quite as bizarre as that. Good job GB wasn't at the Club when Shearer was here, he'd have been taking big Al househunting in Cheshire and Newcastle after his first few months here.
broadsword Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Just goes to show what his priorities are.

I think it was another attempt at humour from him, i wish hed jus shut up and kean off.
mustard Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 I'm not a fan of Bowyer and think he's made some very poor comments recently, but I can't criticise him for this attempt at a bit of humour. Perhaps it's up to the reporter to clarify the tone used as I'm sure it wasn't serious. 90% of what he comes out with winds me up but this falls in the 10%.
