I do hope that there is some way to get this online - live audio or live audio/visual even better, I'd happily pay a Fiver to listen/watch it live.

What attendance is expected?

I note it's being held on Rovers property hosted by the BRFC Action Group, attended by Rovers fans and the panellists are Rovers employees - did the event organisers get good rental terms? Just interested and not making any issue about it, it would just be nice if the Club did offer good terms so that more was available for good causes.

We are hoping it hits the capacity of 400.

The club have no involvement in the venue as the suites are owned by northcote and not blackburn rovers but the going rate has been charged.

QUESTION: Do any other Championship clubs operate with no Chairman and a part time Managing Director?

(Answer is no)

FOLLOW UP: Is Rovers exec structure putting us behind everyone else in the league? Is it not the job of the Board to recommend the optimum Management structure to the owners?

Also note that as it is a private booking with Northcote the club will not advertise the event or sell tickets, so we are reliant on as many fans as we can reach taking up the event.

I personally believe that the board would love to see a half empty room, as an empty seat will be seen as one more happy supporter.

My question will be simple for bowyer. Is his remit to raise the value of players or to win matches? If it is the latter, Why does he always refer to the former when interviewed?

I think we need about 5 questions, just like this with the questioner allowed to probe the answers/prevarication/avoidance- rather than having it watered down by a protective chairman or another unconnected question that takes the focus away at the critical moment.

Good point, fans should be able to ask follow up questions if they feel they haven't had answer to their question first time around.

Ah, classic Tris, classic FF ethos. All out to get personal and undermine the fans who want better. Those who won't just "get behind the lads" - even though they do.

It's about time the FF was disbanded as they have sat back and let the Action Group take all of the flak these last few years. FFS, you lot have a direct line into the club and once again it takes the AG to get everyone in a room to face the music.

Stick to leaks and pies and let others deal with the important stuff.

I can't see anything which gets personal in my previous post Jisty, other than the observation that you label people you don't like and then attack them. You've just proved me correct with this unprovoked attack on the Fans Forum, as if it's an entity with a single voice and single purpose which can be shot down with a single bullet.

It isn't that now and it never has been. It remains what John Williams set up in the late 1990s - a diverse group of unrelated Blackburn Rovers fans which the club can ask for views (about leaks and pies for example), but which at the same time is able to bring questions from the fans to the club.

When John Williams set it up, the initial FF members mainly came from regional groups and individuals who had taken the trouble to write to him about any issue which might have concerned them.

JW would welcome any fan into his office to discuss any sensible gripe - as many people on here have testified over the years. Setting up the FF was his way of making this process more formal and more organized, although to the best of my knowledge he never turned anyone away if they preferred a private conversation.

The composition of the current Fans Forum has remained true to what John Williams started (ie diverse), and I for one am determined that it will survive through these bad times as it did through the previous better times - ironically it's from those better times that the jibes about leaks and pies originate because there wasn't much else to discuss!

You are correct on one thing - we do have a direct line into the club to ask questions. Every couple of months we do just that, it's all minuted, published and available to be read. Before each meeting cycle, there is a well published open invitation to submit questions, gripes, problems, moans, groans and wants, and an open invitation to attend our pre-meets.

This has been publicized through the LET, big screen, match programmes, this forum, other forums, Twitter, Facebook and for all I know Snapchat Tinder Myspace and LinkedIn. That's how the FF has always approached the club and will continue to be - it's not the FF remit to organize public meetings and never will be - however we'll always welcome anyone and everyone to our pre-meets.

We take each and every contribution from any fan into our meetings with the club - usually represented by Alan Myers, Derek Shaw and Lynsey Talbot.

Sadly, the reaction we get to our modus operandi is mainly similar to how you have reacted to this Action Group initiative. I already made it clear in my earlier post that I'm full of admiration to Mark, Paul and co for organizing this, so I'm not sure why you're trying to create a division where there isn't any appetite for one.

You've labelled this as a "sycophants tea party". Most of the time you criticize those on this MB who in your view sit on their hands. Now it's you sitting on your hands because someone has given you the platform your online ranting craves, but you don't seem to want the platform any more.

You really are in a bubble, tris. Your first paragraph alone is tosh, given the final paragraph of the post I responded to, and sets the tone for the rest of the waffle. But given your history on the mb, it's not really a surprise, so enough with the "who, me?" crap.

The AG have done what you and the FF have not - and not for the first time. The fact that it is likely to be full of 'Club men' is not the Action Group's fault, and I doubt they will vet the applicants first.

At least it's one better than the "secret old boys network, fans forum and friends" (don't tell a soul) 20 year anniversary celebrations that were set aside for the elite and secret handshake brigade. I must have missed that in the FF minutes. But THAT is what the FF are about, whereas the AG put things into the public domain in advance.

Back to the real point though - before YOU made it personal - does anyone think that this event will change anything? Of course it won't. Fine, it provides an opportunity to make the panel uncomfortable - if people choose to take it. However, the very fact that it has been planned for a month ahead - at the current time - means the Bowyer has no fear about being dropped in the mean time.

By the way, you don't know if I'm going or not.

Guys let not turn this into a FF v BRFCAG and take the thread off topic, both groups are made of of fellow supporters, both groups want what's best for the club and we have both made mistakes in the past and probably will do in the future.

Some supporters prefer to approach the FF with issues, whilst others approach the BRFCAG. This goes to show that there is room and a need for both groups.

Sorry Paul. I certainly don't want to make things difficult for the AG. But if I am described as being damaging to the messageboard then I will respond.

The way this board is seemingly heading at the moment, with certain voices being drowned out and even banned, there's a danger of it becoming Roverstalk2.

If they AG say no vetted questions, then I believe that to be the case.

Knowing the guys and girls on the AG committee they wouldnt have it any other way , especially with the organising which goes into this type of event.

Im not sure who will compare or chair the event as this is something which will need to be done to prevent it turning into a free for all, which will dilute the content of any questions.

It cannot be left to the panel to look around the room for raised hands on who they take questions from. They would of come across a number of our supporters and will be able to navigate around certain people who they feel may ask the difficult questions.

Have the club indicated how long the Q and A will last?

I would be hoping the group has asked for a minimum time scale, as it would be easy for the panel to call a halt on proceedings if they do not like the line of questioning.

We hear talk of the mess created by others, but the fact remains , Derek Shaws signature is on every contract given out, the board of directors are accountable for income and expenditure. I wont accept them pointing the fingers on the departed as ive previously read via the comments planted into the media.

Our current position is down to irresponsible spending by the board on second rate players. This is why we failed the FFP and this is why we have signed some poor players this summer.

Bowyer granted has not spent anywhere near , than those before. However sometimes its about quality and not quantity and to date over 30 players have walked through the doors at Ewood since he was appointed.

For every Gestede, there is 5 or so Marrow's

Im under no illusions , we are in a relegation battle, todays game is a must win.

If things have not turned the corner by the time this meeting comes around, then it will beg the question , why is Bowyer still our manager.

Stuart without wishing to involve myself with the discussion between you and Tris I have to make one comment. You're description of and impression of the Fans Forum could not be further from the truth and you should offer an apology to the many fans who have worked hard in the group for 20 or so years.

To me the remarks are a sad reflection of the divisions which have arisen out of the Raos stewardship.

New poster but avid reader, felt compelled to reply.
I find it astonishing the levels of sustain being shown, is it not the very platform the 'Brfcc directorate' have been screaming out for? Now it's not worth attending?
I was observing the chat for bolton at home, 24 posts fired across the bow as I fetched a gill, all calling for pitchforks and revolution, not 1 post on this thread?
'I can't help you, if you won't help yourself' is the old adage.

In your haste to keep this personal and to carry on driving a wedge between fellow fans Stuart, you have completely lost the plot and are now defaming people who you don't even know, and making statements which are entirely false.

I'll wait for your retraction and apology regarding the 20th anniversary event which was arranged by the Former Players Association.

And apologies to everyone else that this thread has been dragged off topic.

...

{Just to further set the record straight, here's the extract from the Fans Forum minutes regarding the Former Players event :}

http://www.rovers.co.uk/documents/ff-minutes-9-3-15195-2339972.pdf

7. 20th Anniversary Plans

AM confirmed that the Former Players Association was planning a

celebratory dinner towards the end of the season. He was conscious that

the cost of this event would be beyond the means of many fans. The

club was therefore planning three nights in Blues in April.

I couldnt agree more with that one..

The 20th Anniversary event was in my opinion very poorly organised, leaving many people to only find out about it well after the event had happened. It wasnt really targetted at the average fan on the street (or messageboard), and more of a corporate audience. If this had gone through either/both the FF and BRFCAG then i'm sure that it would have been given a much wider audience.

The only people who have been banned (all 2 of them, and only temporarily) are the ones who chose to discredit, undermine and insult the people who run the board, without whom it WOULD be roverstalk or roversmad.

Its not fan vs fan here, the FF fully support the BRAG initiative here and a few members are likely to attend as well. Lets get this back on topic anyway..

This event seems like it could be a terrific opportunity to get some answers vis-a-vis what Venkys 'strategy' is... (fully aware that word is rather ironic given the 5-year shambles they have presided over).

Like other overseas supporters, I would be more than happy to pay for a ticket and watch via an online stream if it could be set up.

Personally, although I've never supported the action group from day one I believe they should be congratulated on organising this event. People have been asking for communication and the Action Group have gone out and arranged an event that provides fans with the very opportunity that so many have demanded. They deserve the highest praise for organising this.

Haven't they asked for communication from the organ grinders, not the monkeys?
