Backroom Tom Posted September 19, 2015 Backroom Posted September 19, 2015 Get in Exactly the result we needed My thoughts on the manager stay the same but can stay on ice for now Lawrence looks like a better Cairney
G Somerset Rover Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Pleased with that. We need to wrap Rhodes up in bubble wrap, cotton wool, the lot. Because if he gets injured then we're beyond screwed. At least we can all enjoy a Saturday evening for the first time in a while.
Backroom DE. Posted September 19, 2015 Backroom Posted September 19, 2015 Performance here was irrelevant, we needed the win. Much like Tom, my thoughts on Bowyer haven't changed, but as far as I'm concerned he's here for a while yet regardless of results, so three points is very welcome. God help us if Rhodes gets injured.
Backroom Tom Posted September 19, 2015 Backroom Posted September 19, 2015 First half I felt the only way was down, smiling now though amazing what a good win does!
matt83 Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Changes nothing for me vis a vis the manager who is on borrowed time and has been for some time but good to put 3 points on the board.
West Yorks Rover Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Promotion push starts here! Only 5 points off play offs. and no negative GD. How bad are Bolton lost 4-1 at Hudds, going down that lot.
Lhrover Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Only 5 points off play offs. and no negative GD. E I E I E I O Up The Football League We Go!
Doaksie Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 What is this happy feeling on a Saturday afternoon? I was expecting a 5 o'clock ritual kick in the balls. Very happy with the urgently needed 3 points, and also the clean sheet. Seemingly we continued to press for more after going ahead, anyone who was present? A very positive development under GB, after doing similar during the week. This is a pre-requisite of any chances, however slim, we have of finishing in the top 6.
BigBar Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 What is this strange sensation I'm feeling...is it a win ??happy days pleased with that...
Backroom Tom Posted September 19, 2015 Backroom Posted September 19, 2015 Did I say I really like Akpan?
A cup of beans Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 I'm not going to dwell on negatives - Charlton are the worst side I've seen at ewood in years, and couldve scored a couple- We created bag fulls of chances. Rhodes could've had 6. Lawrence looked class, did more than Koita. Evans had his best game in a rovers shirt. I'm just enjoying the win. Forgotten what it feels like.
Darwen Rover 007 Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Were we that good or were they that bad lol Thought Guthrie was mega today, forward passing forward thinking player... And Lawrence - sign him up!!
scrumpyblue Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Actually looking forward to the Footie league show on channel 5 for a change! Well done Rovers for making this a happy weekend indeed!
Backroom DE. Posted September 19, 2015 Backroom Posted September 19, 2015 Judging from today it seems like we should be starting with Guthrie/Akpan in the centre, with Lawrence playing behind Rhodes. Koita is a good option to come on and harass tired defenders towards the end, but doesn't seem to have the creativity or goalscoring instinct to merit a starting place.
joey_big_nose Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Strong win though Charlton did sound abysmal. In regards to Gaz, this time last week I was all for him going. However three good performances later I am beginning to wonder if we can put a run together.
gumboots Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Gumboot's daughter is reporting for BBC Final score, seem to remember we had a good win last time she was at Ewood.perhaps we need to send her to more games!

Evans was excellent I think? Guthrie evans partnership is here to stay. Akpan might have had a good cameo but I can't see him getting a spot off those two
Backroom Tom Posted September 19, 2015 Backroom Posted September 19, 2015 Akpan for me is better than Evans but Evans and Guthrie have to keep their places on merit. First time in a while we have had strong option there.

Darwen Rover 007 Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 If Lowe and spurr retain their places bowyer needs shooting!!
West Yorks Rover Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 perhaps we need to send her to more games! Definitely ! BTW she is very good at her job.
