[Archived] Lower League Players (Ones To Watch)

I hope Bowyer and his scouts are.

He is defo knows where the net is.

Watched him last night and he took his goal very well. I've seen him a few times and he is a young lad with potential but I suspect he would struggle in the Championship at this moment in time as there are still other aspects to his game which need developing. As we can't pay a fee it's pretty academic as Stanley would want money for him and I've no doubt that at some point someone will be prepared to pay money to take a gamble on him developing.

Port Vale's Uche Ikpeazu looks like a player, 20 years old and very big and strong... 6 goals this season already.

Might be best we steer clear of big and strong for the time being. We are just showing signs of exorcising "Rudyball"

Firmly believe you can't improve finishing. You either have it or you dont.

It's all about practice. GB alluded to the work he puts in. I always remember the early Beckham interview where it's shows his free kick regimes.

I understand what you are saying but I believe you can. Look at how much Walcott learnt from Henry about finishing.

Plus look at the improvement of Gestede under Bowyer and his staff during his time here

I'm not sure either was a case of improvement on finishing.

Gestede was just used properly (put it on his head) and Walcott being used in his proper position (up front).

Re: Walcott I've always said he was a striker. Before last season he'd only ever played up front twice, both for England: Scored a goal against 'someone' and a hattrick vs Croatia :P

Rudy Gestede was always Rudy Gestede just dont see what Gary Bowyer and his staff did to improve him.

To add to K-Hod's post, used him properly by making him a focal point of attack instead just a 'foil' targetman.

Forgot to post someone I'd seen a month ago who didn't actually score when i watched them but has got 9 goals this season... Paddy Madden at Scunthorpe, class act that lad, bags of talent and can score.

Paddy Madden was banging them in when Yeovil was in League 1. Don't know what happened to him when they were playing Championship ball. Maybe above his level?

Certainly looks too good for league 1 to me.
