VinjayV4 Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Mentioned it a while ago but all he seems to do is tweet pics from holidaying in exotic places every week as does Howard Walker. Maybe a nice settlement contributed towards all that and softened the blow of er...parting from the club ! Indeed they are on twitter... https://twitter.com/HowardW1962 Interesting to see what is on his follow list and what isn't. https://twitter.com/MatthewmanRich Also Richard Matthewman who as mentioned above is married to one of the Walkers.
old darwen blue Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Hi pal, are you bored with Man City now?
JBiz Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Hi pal, are you bored with Man City now? In the famous words of Stuart; "play the ball not the man"...
BiggusLaddus Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 What do you expect with our parochial 80s mindset?
onlyonejackwalker Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 What do you expect with our parochial 80s mindset? It's not him. He'd have risen to the bait by now.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted January 8, 2016 Moderation Lead Posted January 8, 2016 Nope, not Saxo again. The writing style was much different to Saxo's. (IE coherent). :-)
VinjayV4 Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 This is quite interesting Michaela and Ross Walker filed a lawsuit against Paul Egerton-Vernon a couple of years ago. http://www.lexology.com/library/detail.aspx?g=7fed978f-fcf3-4a99-b0c1-a4f4cd9f44c8 I've also sent an email to Egerton-Vernon asking if he has any statement of regret (while admitting I was quite rightly a major critic and pro takeover between 2005-2010) over what Venkys have done. Did say the sale wasn't necessarily conducted in bad faith though. Won't hold my breath over a response. EDIT...Here's another link as well with more information. http://www.jerseylaw.je/Judgments/UnreportedJudgments/Documents/Display.aspx?url=2014/14-01-24_Walker_and_others-v-Egerton-Vernon_and_others_025.htm

It seems the fans aren't the only ones with an axe to grind against the Trust, accusing them of peeing away 130 million in "highly speculative and disastrous investments." Maybe the Trust put as little effort into investing the family fortune as they did into checking out Anderson and Venky's.

It also states in the 2nd link that Egerton-Vernon retired as a trustee in July 2009. So why was he the one who made a statement following the sale as Chairman of the Jack Walker settlement? Just want to add EIT I always thought you were one of the better posters on here

Also seems like the Walkers filed the lawsuit purely in their own interests as beneficiaries of the settlement. So certainly no attempt by them to investigate the lack of funding for their Dad's football club plus the sale proceedings. I do wonder if the Walkers were referring to Rovers as one of the "disastrous investments" despite the legal entitlements in terms of funding the club.
koi Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 I don't think any of the Walker's could give a toss about the club and I very much doubt that their actions followed Jack's wishes after he died. I did once spend quite a bit of time looking into the trust and the individuals involved and I found quite a few people made themselves very rich after the death of Jack.
