I wonder whats happened to the nights of violence and thuggary by the England fans in France?

Depending on which media outlet you prefer it was disgusting, shaming the country, despicable, send them home, vile creatures, yet not a peep out of the press for days now, you'll be hard pressed to find anything on trouble from England fans, has it simple just stopped, have the hooligans decided its not worth it, or was it all blown out of proportion and England blamed simply because of past history?

You be the judge

You can almost start to visualise some of the possible matchups for the round of 16.

Croatia is a good team, I hope they can finish 1st or 2nd in group D, it looks like that would put D2 on a course to face E1, that could be Italy.

The Czechs must have played adequate against Spain to hold them from scoring until late or maybe Spain played that match too conservatively.

Steward was not hurt in that game.

I had a firecracker explode in my hand when I was about 12 years old; no lingering effect but not something I'd like to try again. They said, perhaps, that happened to that stewart, it was a firecracker that exploded one article read but who knows?

Nailed on Belgium win today, not sure if I'd put the mortgage on it, but I definitely put Abbeys on.

Wow, not sure i would be that confident. Belgium should win but anything cam happen.

I'd really like to see Republic win it but...it's hard to see. I'd like to see Austria defeat Portugal in the 3rd game today, I don't see that nor even a draw.

Hungary and Iceland appears to be an interesting match; and just for me, it's advantage Hungary.

Quite. Believe it or not a media bloke in Lille offered to pay my mate 100 to throw a bottle at the French police. There's talk of the "scum" that follow England but sadly some of the real scum out there are writing and reporting for our national media.

My one regret was not tackling that bloke down to the ground and tried to get him arrested but no doubt I'd have been the one with his collar felt and that would only fuel the story he has obviously been sent out there to get.

But hey I'm just glad events on the pitch largely taking over now.

I love the fact that rather than film him coming out of the tunnel and showing The Riverside, they rather he walked up from the concourse bar so they show one of the other stands!!

Such things have been going on for years matt, keeps the daily mail readers outraged at the scum following the national side

After Ronaldo's dummy spitting outburst after the Iceland game, every football supporter in Europe wants Portugal to get beat.

He apparently said to an Iceland player attempting to swap shirts 'who are you!' And turned away.

Classless Pr*ck, C'mon Austria!!!

I thought the same. The editor was clearly determined to avoid showing the Riverside and only show the other three stands.

I guess the intention was to make it look fairly generic but it was nice to see the backs of the terrace houses to provide a bit of character.
