Gav Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 I wonder whats happened to the nights of violence and thuggary by the England fans in France? Depending on which media outlet you prefer it was disgusting, shaming the country, despicable, send them home, vile creatures, yet not a peep out of the press for days now, you'll be hard pressed to find anything on trouble from England fans, has it simple just stopped, have the hooligans decided its not worth it, or was it all blown out of proportion and England blamed simply because of past history? You be the judge

Audax Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 http://uk.soccerway.com/international/europe/european-championships/2016-france/s7576/final-stages/ You can almost start to visualise some of the possible matchups for the round of 16. Croatia is a good team, I hope they can finish 1st or 2nd in group D, it looks like that would put D2 on a course to face E1, that could be Italy. The Czechs must have played adequate against Spain to hold them from scoring until late or maybe Spain played that match too conservatively. Steward was not hurt in that game. http://uk.soccerway.com/news/2016/June/18/uefa-confirms-steward-unhurt-by-flare-explosion/n801780/ I had a firecracker explode in my hand when I was about 12 years old; no lingering effect but not something I'd like to try again. They said, perhaps, that happened to that stewart, it was a firecracker that exploded one article read but who knows?
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Hope England show the same level of defence as the Union boys. Fantastic win over the Wallabies!
Gav Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Nailed on Belgium win today, not sure if I'd put the mortgage on it, but I definitely put Abbeys on.
Neal Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Nailed on Belgium win today, not sure if I'd put the mortgage on it, but I definitely put Abbeys on. Wow, not sure i would be that confident. Belgium should win but anything cam happen.
Audax Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 I'd really like to see Republic win it but...it's hard to see. I'd like to see Austria defeat Portugal in the 3rd game today, I don't see that nor even a draw. Hungary and Iceland appears to be an interesting match; and just for me, it's advantage Hungary.
Audax Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 My gosh, they arrested 12 people in Belgium, accuse them of plotting an attack on folks watching this match: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-36566336 That's the kind of stuff that has happened in Nigeria, Somalia and Iraq.
Husky Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 How embarrassing for Ireland. The poor man's Heskey with an excellent finish.

You be the judge Quite. Believe it or not a media bloke in Lille offered to pay my mate 100 to throw a bottle at the French police. There's talk of the "scum" that follow England but sadly some of the real scum out there are writing and reporting for our national media. My one regret was not tackling that bloke down to the ground and tried to get him arrested but no doubt I'd have been the one with his collar felt and that would only fuel the story he has obviously been sent out there to get. But hey I'm just glad events on the pitch largely taking over now.
roverandout Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Ireland are mince, championship players against champions league players
ABBEY Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Hope England show the same level of defence as the Union boys. Fantastic win over the Wallabies! ?
Husky Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Lukaku is a poor man's Heskey? Are you high? Come on. He's at least a bit better than Chris Brown.
Stuart Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Anyone else seen this? It's a bit naff but... https://www.facebook.com/joehartofficial/videos/1568367706790219/ When he gets off the coach, I did a double-take but the practise session clips confirm it...

Yes you can clearly see the Ronnie Clayton Blackburn End.
Hasta Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 I love the fact that rather than film him coming out of the tunnel and showing The Riverside, they rather he walked up from the concourse bar so they show one of the other stands!!

perthblue02 Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Do you reckon that they are the Hungarian keepers lucky pants? More sparkly tantrums and tiara's due in the next game from the Portuguese princess ,I hope
Audax Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 The official probably could have given Iceland a penalty at the end but the first call wasn't too strong. Hard draw for Iceland; I watch the international game, they almost got to the World Cup.
BlueMonday Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 After Ronaldo's dummy spitting outburst after the Iceland game, every football supporter in Europe wants Portugal to get beat. He apparently said to an Iceland player attempting to swap shirts 'who are you!' And turned away. Classless Pr*ck, C'mon Austria!!!
Stuart Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 I love the fact that rather than film him coming out of the tunnel and showing The Riverside, they rather he walked up from the concourse bar so they show one of the other stands!!I thought the same. The editor was clearly determined to avoid showing the Riverside and only show the other three stands.I guess the intention was to make it look fairly generic but it was nice to see the backs of the terrace houses to provide a bit of character.
