I've been scathing of the England team for many years now, mainly because of the John Terry era where they cared more about themselves and money than the national side, hated them, and it meant I couldn't watch the national side with anything but disdain.

But over the past 12 months I've started to take an interest again, this group seem genuinely interested in playing for the national side and thats refreshing for me,

I've seen many many England teams in tournaments over the years, both live and on TV and this is one of the best. The performances have been excellent, we should have topped the group with 9 points and I never thought I'd be saying that after the group stages.

This side has improved so much since the Holland defeat at Wembley, its good to see, but is still struggling to 'pick that lock' and thats my only worry so far.

What I would say is the site suffers from posters being unable to back down, change views and opinions, I'm not putting this at your doorstep necessarily Stuart, but you had a real downer on the national side before the tournament, as did I, maybe thats your position and you're sticking to it, I think we're playing really well and could go all the way with a bit of luck.

Defense hasn't really been tested yet, and no manager in the world can allow for wastefulness in front of goal as its across the entire front line, not just one player.

Great post Gav, I was the ultimate pessimist in bygone years when it came to England especially during the so-called golden generation.

I think we've played very well so far, need to find the key to the door but it will happen - especially when we play teams who want to attack now and then.

I also find it strange that no-one wants to mention the nailed on penalty for the challenge on Clyne in the 2nd half.

What do people think about this extension of teams in the Finals and 3rd placed qualifiers.

It's good to have more football to watch, but part of it is all a bit meh! With some of these last group games feeling more like 'friendlies'.

Kalinic having a good game. Good striker shame he was never used right by us.

ITV commentator: "There'll be a few Blackburn Rovers' fans at home scratching their head"

We have been for the past flipping five and a half years pal!

Well done Roy. Now in our half of the groups we have: Spain, Germany, Italy, France.

Was it really worth it?

Yeah but at least we won't be tired.

Congrats to N'orn Ireland who are now through to the next round too.

Just look at Wales' probable run to the final and think that could have been us.

Woy Bowyer says we don't fear anyone - that's why he's not phased by it (supposedly).

Though as a fan I know I'd much rather be in Wales' side of the draw.

So Roy can't cut it at the top of English football but Allardyce can  Utter Bunkum.

Roy Hodgson has a managerial record Allardyce could only dream of, but we digress, which I'm sure was your intention :tu:

I don't like that word bunkum so my response is "rubbish". Saw both of them at Ewood in very different circumstances and it wasn't Woy who performed miracles! You're blinkered Gav.
