Husky Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Oh dear. The 3 extra days rest excuse. How about that Ireland just aren't good enough.

Baz Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 I'm just happy seeing 2 teams having a go, and seeing players picking up suspensions for the next round.
perthblue02 Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Last player to be sent off for Ireland at a major tournament Keith Andrews v Italy 2012
Gav Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 well at least no one will be buying Duffy! Crazy 15 mins from him after an excellent tournament so far. He had no choice Joey, at 2-1 and 10 men you've a chance, at 3-1 you've no chance.
Stuart Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 well at least no one will be buying Duffy! Crazy 15 mins from him after an excellent tournament so far. His biggest mistake wasn't getting sent off, it was his decision making for the French second. Schoolboy stuff.
G Somerset Rover Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 His biggest mistake wasn't getting sent off, it was his decision making for the French second. Schoolboy stuff.Ball watching. Should be eradicated at a much younger age. As I say though it's a shame as apart from the 15-20 mins in this second half he's been fantastic.
Hasta Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Good to see Ireland keeping their shape to protect their goal difference here.
Baz Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 C'mon Ireland, at least take a few frenchies out with you.
Stuart Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Ireland look dead on their feet. Shame. England to be rewarded with a France QF if the get past Iceland then.
deryck guyler's spoon Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 The standard England QF elimination then.
roverandout Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 France look very beatable, when they come up against a Spain or a Germany, they're gonners, I think Kane and Sturridge could have a field day against that defence
grizfoot Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 His biggest mistake wasn't getting sent off, it was his decision making for the French second. Schoolboy stuff. I like the ITV punditry team trying to blame the mistake on the atmosphere at the ground and not being able to communicate, maybe they are just being kind. We've all seen him make similar mistakes on a quiet afternoon at Ewood. It's a shame really because up until that point he was having a very good game.
Audax Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 The announcer did say in commentary, that Shane Long did indeed leave his back leg out there, thus, baiting the penalty. Part of the game I guess.
arbitro Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 His biggest mistake wasn't getting sent off, it was his decision making for the French second. Schoolboy stuff. Completely agree. His positional sense and rashness are what lets him down more than anything but are nothing that a really good defensive coach can assist him with.

philipl Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 The ITV team has previewed Germany v Slovakia without mentioning that six weeks ago Slovakia won 3-1 in Germany after going a goal down early on. I doubt lightening will strike twice but Germany have just scored first again.
roverandout Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Sounded like the commentator on ITV was having some whipped cream on his coffee
AllRoverAsia Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 The more I watch this tournament the more I believe England can win it. I'm of to the bookie, 4 doors down in the the Soi. Chinese but you can only play what's in front.
Audax Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 That's why I didn't want to say anything, Germany score again. Slovakia seems to be playing to set back and on defense.
Husky Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Perhaps this is putting England's performance into perspective. As Slovakia have played largely the same defensive way.
roverandout Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 And there we are Perhaps this is putting England's performance into perspective. As Slovakia have played largely the same defensive way.
Audax Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Until now, Germany hasn't looked totally strong in this tournament, so we will see. Arguably, Slovakia also defended against an experimental squad from England.
RibbleValleyRover Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Germany seem to have gone up another gear today. Frightening for the rest of the teams in the tournament.
