davulsukur Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 Get Allardyce on the phone. I'm totally serious. We've tried everything else, including what ever the hell that was I've just watched. No way would we have lost that with Allardyce in charge. Kane on set pieces?!? Sturridge, a left footer on the right wing?!? Zero width. Zero confidence. No pace. No plan. Ponderous. Clueless. Speaking of Allardyce, every team we played just packed everyone behind the ball and hit us on the break and punished us with set pieces. Allardyce could beat the England team with MK Dons.

arbitro Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 Absolutely got what we deserved under Hodgsons reign - 6 changes to not win the group, then this - yes he's getting sacked, but his tactics were woeful - yet another disgrace. Fecking losing to Iceland - thier food is @#/?! One big problem though is how the FA pick his successor. It is done by a flaming committee of blazers who really haven't got a clue. Burnley Bob might even be on it. We are run by an archaic organisation who rely on rigor mortis affected men who are elected into their positions.

Stuart Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 "Look what it means to the players" It means abdolutely @#/? NOTHING to them. Nothing. Hodgson got this badly badly wrong. Ignores Noble, drops Drinkwater. Makes Rooney his midfield lynchpin in the first competitive fixture after not even trying it in friendlies. Makes multiple changes in each game for no good reason. He lost the players after the Wales game in my view. No motivation. No organisation. No composure. No confidence. Hodgson has embarrassed his country tonight and it was four games in the making.
Audax Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 It does seem England seemed to overconfident; you need to know what it's like to not want to risk losing like Italy. Too complacent in the end.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted June 27, 2016 Moderation Lead Posted June 27, 2016 He doesn't have a clue, there were no wingers, no plan b, then he just throws a load of strikers on to try and get a goal. He took Dier off who has probably been our best player this tournament. Embarrassing from start to finish.
A cup of beans Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 Players didn't perform. Not sure I'd blame, Woy. Those 2 goals conceded were beyond belief. Awful techically, couldnt handle pressure. Nobody took any responsibility, or played to their minimum.
Stuart Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 I've said it before but I'll say it again. We need a qualifying manager and a tournament manager. Different skillset.
philipl Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 The pundits not holding back in their opinions- crikey!
Blue blood Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 Blimey we were pathetic. A lot of these guys have shown this tournament how overrated they are. Roy had a stinker of a tournament but make no mistake the team were shocking too. Over hit crosses, easily bullied off the ball, no ideas or movement - the players were a shambles just as much.
chaddyrovers Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 I would go for Southgate or Redknapp or Hoddle. Southgate won the under 21's tournment. Redknapp experience
Mr. E Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 The only thing I would disagree with is anyone who follows the English team who is at the slightest surprised at this result.Like, have you not been paying attention for the past couple of years?Forget the qualifying results. Look at Hodgson's stubborn, pathetic mentality. His love affair with Rooney and Sterling, two utterly awful footballers, even if the former didn't do as bad in midfield. His retarded tactics of playing strikers like Sturridge, Vardy out wide, completely dulling their contribution. His insistence on sticking with Hart, a brilliant keeper for City who has been utter and complete dog s*it in every important game for England. It wasn't just me, plenty of people warned about this insanity for years, but it seems that many in the media and amongst the fans just adapted a moronic expectation that "well, but the results are good, I'm sure he has a plan for it to all come good at the end."This result has been coming for years, and absolutely no one with any power did anything to stop it.The FA need to get Sam Allardyce to sort out this mess. But they are too clueless to that.
G Somerset Rover Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 I would go for Southgate or Redknapp. Southgate won the under 21's tournment. Redknapp experience Southgate?! JHC Chaddy.
chaddyrovers Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 Southgate?! JHC Chaddy. Produce results and won the under 21's tournememt this summer.
perthblue02 Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 The pundits not holding back in their opinions- crikey! Don't know what channel you have over there Phillip, but it is the same on beinsports, Souness really sticking the boot in regarding the players attitude
chaddyrovers Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 The FA need to get Sam Allardyce to sort out this mess. But they are too clueless to that. Should have got the job in 2008.
Stuart Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 It's no use throwing names at it. The FA need to cease all player sponsorship arrangements and players being involved for marketing purposes. If Rooney was not leading the attack he should have been nowhere near this squad. He's too big a personality to be on the bench. Midfielders overlooked to accommodate him. Looks like Hodgdon has had the good grace to walk away. He's let us down in the most embarrassing way.
