We've probably just about had the better of the opening 15 minutes... not much quality on display from either side at the moment though. A lot of long balls and flick ons from Burnley, which aren't working at all.

The amount of misplaced passes out to the flank is ridiculous. Isn't passing the ball to a team-mate one of the basics at this level of football? It shouldn't be going so far from the intended target that it's going out for a throw on a regular basis.

It's the state of the English game, mate. In Spain and other parts of Europe, passing and ball-retention are paramount. Over here, as long as you're above average height and can run around a lot, you're a shoo-in.

It' amazing how our defence just suddenly seems to disappear at certain times. Even Steele looked utterly bemused at the latest parting of the blue and white sea.

Should be scoring that. Looks like it might be a non-scoring day for Jordan, unfortunately, which means a non-scoring day for Rovers. Hopefully not.

Not a great game they are winning the midfield battle but overall we've had the better chances

A bit tame with not too much hostility in the stands yet

Poor play from both sides throughout the first half. Akpan or Evans need to come deeper and be a short option when our back four have the ball, Burnley's high press forces us to play too many long balls as is.

We are playing pretty well, although passing it too much across the back and sitting too deep, but when we do get forward nice little short passes. Laurence has been excellent. Rhodes had all the best chances for either side, and we have really restricted Burnley to a couple of pot shots. Each side should have had a penalty. Marshall excellent at right back.

However do feel Burnley could step up a gear so wary.

Also a word on Hanley. He gave away what should have been a penalty and then ludicrously kicks Barton while walking back up pitch for the goal kick. Not how the captain should perform.

Otherwise he's been good but that kind of petulance is totally unacceptable.

We've had the better of the half, but Hanley's clumsiness could have given away a penalty. His deliberate tripping of Barton afterwards sums him up, totally irresponsible and in no way captain material.
