Ewooduknow Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 I'm relieved he's gone as it would have made me cringe when he put Lowe straight back in again once even remotely fit.

LewisF Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 Just been on the tour of Ewood Park and in Gary's suite (or what was) he had a photo of Lowe The tour guide said that when the bald @#/? was in charge he had photos of himself.... Arrogant @#/?
Ewooduknow Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 Will be interesting now to see what Lambert makes of Lowe. If he plays him too then it really will be a case of people within the game seeing something us humble fans cannot.
Backroom Tom Posted November 14, 2015 Backroom Posted November 14, 2015 Hope Akpan tweeted a few emoticons the other day - faces neither smiling or frowning, but has since deleted it. The absolute silence from the players makes me think they have been asked not to comment. I expect we will get a letter from Gary to the fans in the local paper this week at some point.

It's strange that there's been absolutely no reaction from any of the players, or any comment from Bowyer. I remember when Allardyce was potted quite a few of our players came out and expressed their disappointment - Ryan Nelsen was one, if memory serves me correctly. I assume an NDA wouldn't stop the players coming out and expressing gratitude or well wishes to Bowyer, or the man himself giving the standard LMA issued response to his dismissal. Not that I'm especially bothered, it's just odd.

Said the players were surprised but gave no indication they were particularly unhappy. Said a few would probably be disappointed, some the opposite but the majority were ready to just get on with it. He had no idea who was coming in but was hoping for an appointment that would give young players a chance and seemed excited at the prospect.

Despite his young age, he and his team mates will realise that is football for you, especially nowadays with the high turnover of managers. The sort of reaction I would have expected. Most managers aren't universally liked (or loathed - even Warnock has his fans). Will be interesting now to see what Lambert makes of Lowe. If he plays him too then it really will be a case of people within the game seeing something us humble fans cannot. I had exactly the same thought. Can't see a fit Lowe getting into the midfield if all other personnel are available, but could see him getting the odd game either at RB or if squad was depleted.
tomphil Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 Maybe a manager with a gameplan could utilize Lowes limitations in his team, especially if he surrounded by some better players and just does the water carrier role. Trouble is Gaz put far too much stock into Lowe seeing him as a main man to build his team around and often trying to play through him as if he was Tugay. Totally the wrong way to use a guy like him but he was blinded by loyalty or something. I've no problem with Lowe being the squad man at Rovers that he should be. Maybe he'll prove a lot of us wrong and good for him if he does.
Pedro Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 Has he released a statement or anything because I haven't seen it? A lot of fans were very patient and very supportive of him. I hope he has acknowledged that.

If he plays him too then it really will be a case of people within the game seeing something us humble fans cannot. If he gets him to pass the ball forward its be a start. The problem with Lowe, in my view, was that he did what the manager wanted from him. "Caution, caution but if you are ever in doubt... caution".With the right motivation, he has/had the fitness levels to be the new Robbie Savage.

chaddyrovers Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 I wouldnt be surprise if Bowyer got the Barnsley job if Lee Johnson does get the sack shortly
oldjamfan1 Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 I wouldnt be surprise if Bowyer got the Barnsley job if Lee Johnson does get the sack shortly I could see him at Forest as well, with his connection to the club
tomphil Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 He wont last ten mins at a place like Forest where there is expectation and pressure from the off. Totally the wrong job for a guy of his ilk although he'd love to be there no doubt.
till i die Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 I'm relieved he's gone as it would have made me cringe when he put Lowe straight back in again once even remotely fit. It wont be a problem if Bowyer gets another job, Lowe will be his captain!
dr who true blue Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 Lowe is the poor mans Nicky Reed, another issue the new manager will have to deal with is what to do with Chris Brown.
tomphil Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 ,another issue the new manager will have to deal with is what to do with Chris Brown. Say thanks and put him in a taxi.
Guest Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 I wouldnt be surprise if Bowyer got the Barnsley job if Lee Johnson does get the sack shortly Funny you say that, as I mentioned him to my Baansley-supporting mate yesterday. He'd be a good fit there, I think.
Waggy76 Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 Lowe is the poor mans Nicky Reed, another issue the new manager will have to deal with is what to do with Chris Brown. Terminate his contract !
imy9 Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 Random question. Did Bowyer have his pro license or UEFA A?
Backroom DE. Posted November 15, 2015 Backroom Posted November 15, 2015 There's nothing online to suggest he had any such qualifications, though I'm not sure where specifically something like that would be listed.

There's nothing online to suggest he had any such qualifications, though I'm not sure where specifically something like that would be listed. Forgive me for using the Football Manager 2016 database to answer the question but they have it down as him having a UEFA A licence. Perhaps he was studying for Pro? Even though it's a game, they tend to have very accurate data.
Darwen Rover 007 Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Thanks Gaz and all the best for the future think you'll do well at a lower championship club with ambitions to stay in the championship... Unfortuntaly your 'happy just to be here' mentality was not for us
Roverthechimp Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Thanks Mr Bowyer for being a big part of making it about football again. Thanks for a some decent players bought for peanuts and getting the squad somewhat fit. Sad you didn't/couldn't push on further but some have "it" and some don't. Good luck in the next job but maybe a step back would be wise...
