Absolutely it isn't going to be easy. If I'm honest, I not 100% clear on the nuts and bolts of what happens when the embargo is lifted Re: signings, wages etc. I just have more confidence in Lambert during a transfer window and spending wisely. I'm not saying when the embargo is lifted we go out and get another Etuhu and Murphy and put them on huge contracts. If the owners can find a way of getting out of it without selling players then you have to take your hat off to them (can't believe I've said that). I think we'd all agree that's the perfect outcome.

During the phone in on Wednesday night Niko Nixon said the venkys believe from their Lawyers that they can get out of the embargo WITHOUT selling, now how that is going to transpire who knows but they are confidant, so lets wait and see.

From their lawyers? I had assumed we had found a way to shift the accounts around, but if it's the lawyers telling them that then it can only mean a legal challenge is on the cards. If Nicko has finally found some decent sources again that is...

Sorry it could have been finance my bad, but still could do it without selling first

....dont get me wrong, I'm as susceptible to the wave of optimism as anyone, currently blasting 'footballs coming home' very loud right through the office....

"Red rose on our shirt,

Premier trophy still gleamin',

5 full years of hurt,

Never stopped me dreamin"

I just wonder how many Rovers fans will actually enjoy not being able to blame Venkys for everything in the world that is wrong...

Time will tell.

Seriously... What is the point in posting that?

Is Sky Sports News in anyway related to SkyBet?

They might/might not be correct. But I can't believe that conflict of interest can be tolerated never mind discounted.

Yes indeed they are, with the latter sponsoring our league. It is allowed because the FA are corrupt and in bed with dodgy agents and Sky.

It will be interesting - how many that said they weren't attending because we didn't have an experienced manager and the Venky's showed no ambition will be attending at Ewood if Lambert is signed ?

I took it as more of a comment that was alluding to "what will the fans moan about now?"

Yep you are correct.

It could be argued that they have an interest in keeping it vague till a signature is on a contract.

I just took it as dangling a whopping piece of bait out there, there's no way we've been unreasonable in highlighting the grievances we have in the way we have.

We've been too restrained if anything!!

At one end of the spectrum we have stories that the deal is done and dusted, or that it is all but done, and that an announcement can be expected either today or tomorrow. This is the gist of Nixon's Sun article this morning, which ties in with Lambert being odds on favourite since the moment Bowyer was sacked, and makes sense so that he can have a full week of training next week ahead of the Preston game. This also ties in with the abrupt sacking of the manager and four coaches and suggests that a firm target was all but in place prior to doing so and that only the minor details needed to be ironed out.

Down the middle as usual we have the Lancashire Telegraph who concede that Lambert is the clear favourite and is expected to get the job, but that 'nothing is imminent'.

Then on the opposite end of the scale we have Sky Sports, who are clearly keen to keep Fulham and QPR in the betting stakes, who are now saying that there will be no announcement today and that we are still interviewing various people for the position. I find that very hard to believe given everything else I have heard this week.

Edit: could easily be fake/joke/hoax

Love it. That must have taken about 2 mins to set up. Look at all the microphones :-)

Of the 10,000 or so we've lost, a hell of a lot of them will be gone for good. Whatever their original intent was, once people get out of the habit they aint coming back.

Though just to get a couple of thousand more through the gate on a regular basis would be a start.

I can't understand why they would do that when they have a full media suite already in place at Ewood Park and Brockhall. Unless the above isn't at Ewood, but then where is it and why does it have Rovers paintings on the wall? Odd.

It's a valid point, however for some, they haven't attended for so long that I think they have just lost the appetite and found other things to enjoy, it's a shame but that's how it is, the club will have to work extremely hard to get those back.

I'm sure that photo is bs when the media room at Ewood would already be set up

Times are tough!

Maybe they are renting out the media suite to Barry White for karaoke and that's how they've got out of the embargo.

Tell you who I would like that isn't on the poll. Simon Grayson.

Fill your boots.

There are some really stupid names on SkyBet, with higher odds than most in the poll. Robbie Fowler, anyone?

Didn't mean I want to bet on him lol. It doesn't sound as if he is in the running. Just think it would be a shrewd enough move. Will be happy with Lambert though. Who I've already placed a bet on.

Did mention yesterday that I'd heard a presser for today had been pencilled in. Clearly, not quite there yet.

IMV, Wheelock hasn't a clue what's going on.

Think his favourite school subject was history because, IMV, that's all he writes about.
