If any of you were the new manager, name some of the changes you would make to the first team? Recruiting youngsters (Nyambe, Mahoney, Tomlinson?), dropping some of the regulars, switching formations etc...and where would you strengthen in January? What kind of advises do you have for the new man coming in?

I think this would be a good idea for a new thread?

1) - I'm your new gaffer and that's how you address me

2) - Everyone starts with a clean slate, there are no automatic selections and selection has to be earned

3) - If you are good enough, you are old enough

That would be a nice start.

Sherwood with two months contract could do nicely. His honeymoon record is awsome.

I just hope he doesn't come in and lose 8 matches in a row. His Aston Villa tenure is giving me nightmares...for him to join us on the back of that might be a bit terrifying.

Funnily enough, he has 0 votes so far. So does David Dunn.

Followed by Lee, Jason, there's the door.

Still no news?

When is it acceptable to start flipping out about this? I've read all week that the right decision has been taken, but that will be a huge folly if Johnson and Kinder are in charge for PNE.

Any new boss needs to be in at least a week prior to the next game and that gives us 23 hours! IMO.

If we end scraping around for the Megsons and Dave Jones - god help us.

Didn't even know he had been linked. He should be so lucky.

We'll let you know. Definitely not yet though.

Jason Lee? Couldn't fit through the door with that hairdo.

Think if there is no announcement by Monday tea time, then its time to start panicing

Mirror reporting that Lambert is mulling over things this weekend, from Germany.

Might explain why there's no unveiling.

I hope we tie him to a deal, he's my pick over Sherwood now the hotseat is actually available.

I forgot about Billy Davies. Let's say we're in cloud cuckoo land and Lambert has bigger fish to fry... Would Davies be an acceptable choice? Here's why he could be.

I'd prefer Lambert/Pearson, but after those two Davies would be my choice.

Available, experienced, point to prove, excellent record in this league at Preston, Derby and Forest. 5 play-offs and 1 promotion in 6 seasons in the Championship? Can't really argue with that.

Don't see how him and Venkys would work, and him and Shaw hate each other by some accounts.

Another who knows this division inside-out and has promotion on his CV. His personality doesn't win him many fans, but the last ill-tempered Scotsman we had in charge wasn't too shabby.

To be fair Phil Neville appears to be to punditry and coaching what Chris Brown appears to be to goalscoring. He's only had 2 coaching roles at Man Ure and Valencia and the first ended in disaster so I wouldn't be losing too much sleep if he didn't pitch up at Ewood.
