Oh well, at least we had a couple of days of anticipation and excitement.

Now back to reality, everybody join in....,

'Eric Kinder's blue and white army'

Think I prefer my composition from earlier today:

"Red rose on our shirt,

Premier trophy still gleamin',

5 full years of hurt,

Never stopped us dreamin"

I'll leave you wordsmiths to add a couple of verses before we print off the Deepdale songsheets....

I enjoyed it, except that Premier trophy doesn't really fit the song.

Good work GF, though I might be inclined to either substitute the word 'cup' for 'trophy' or remove the word 'still' from line 2 (just because it would fit better with the song)

Cheers guys.

Neither cup nor trophy scan/sound right....

Without full (or other syllable) it would be fi-ive years of hurt.

Twas a throwaway post but would be good if we could invent a ditty to complement/supplement Ale-aleo etc.

Back when we were facing Spurs in the League Cup final I wrote a version of Three Lions about them. It was called "Three Kinds Of Dessert" and centred around their players being so old that they were all in a nursing home. Don't think I have a copy any more but it's a fun song to mess with the lyrics. :tu:

3 Lions stirs the soul, sticks in your mind all day, and is simple enough for a toddler to pick up.

And as you say, so easy to adjust the lyrics...

Nope, not at all, I thought him a poor manager.

I think your reading of the owners' plans wrong though. Indecision and poor decisions always come first for me over bizarre theories that make no sense whatsoever - lose 20 million a year to make six million once every three years.

Well, thats fair comment and we will never know how Venky minds work.

Just happy to accept a wise decision for once.

Still no news?

When is it acceptable to start flipping out about this? I've read all week that the right decision has been taken, but that will be a huge folly if Johnson and Kinder are in charge for PNE.

Any new boss needs to be in at least a week prior to the next game and that gives us 23 hours! IMO.

If we end scraping around for the Megsons and Dave Jones - god help us.

Megson I agree. But why the antipathy towards Jones? The unluckiest manager in football history in my view. Earned a top job at a top club on the back of very solid achievements, then had his career and his life ruined by a total liar.

Why would he be so bad for us?

We don't yet know if a wise decision has been made

I was referring to Bowyer's sacking, definitely a wise decision!

Davies' name crops up every time we have a vacancy but as you say the alleged dislike between him and Shaw probably make that unlikely. I get the impression with him that things invariably start off well but that after a time he starts falling out with his own shadow and things start going South.

Like Souey!

"5 sad years of hurt"?

I hope our decision makers have the savy to make a courtesy call over the weekend. Because otherwise I think we could be facing Roy Keane MKII. Can't say I'm utterly convinced lambert will have all the answers, but appointing him and Irvine would be a huge step forward and represents a level of recognition from our owners that this business and league requires professional people with a proven track record.

I understand and feel the hatred and despair towards the owners. But this would be the first thing in five God awful years they have got right. If they read this or have moles to do it for them. Take heed. Make it happen. It's not a guarantee for success but at long last you'd be on the right lines.
