I also think it'll be around 4/5 mill which seems like a fortune compared to recent years. I do though think it'll be created from freeing up room in the next years budget by clearing out end of contract players and one or two others or possibly a sale. I don't see them bunging in hard cash but maybe allowing some movement on the wage bill and underwriting it again as normal, one last time perhaps.

I think that's exactly how they do things, all around a table once every few months is the only time any proper decisions are made. If it clashes with festivals, holidays, family or other work then tough it will have to wait another few months.

That's how they roll and I think that has been a major cause of many balls ups, rip offs in their tenure. Hence their need to always have someone they know keeping things ticking over in between instead of a proper qualified football administrator.

I also think that others have taken advantage of the inertia. Knowing they can act with relative impunity providing things work out by the next meeting, or that they have a good excuse and don't get caught out, and as seen to be a "hard worker".

The only way that kind of approach can work is if they have trusted, highly capable people acting in the best interests of Blackburn Rovers working day-to-day at Ewood who can make decisions within a budget. They have a manager now that can look after the playing side. Now we need a proactive, forward thinking, administrator at the helm who is not putting the Summer transfer budget in front of them for sign off (that would already be in the bag), and accepting all of the uncertainty that brings due to timing, but the Jan 2017 one and a draft view of next Summer. With scenarios for Premier League, Championship and League One.

I also think that the cultural differences between them and the U.K., in terms of urgencies and the level of passion to see Rovers prosper on the pitch play a big part. I'm not saying that these are 0% vs 100% but it's a big gap. This [they] needs managing by an experienced, but sensitive hand.

I hope to God that Lambert is backed this summer. With a kitty, I am sure he will get us pushing top 6. There are going to be 3 big sides coming down - but history suggests that only 1 possibly 2 will have a good season- one almost always ends up in a relegation fight. - Villa look like a broken club - they seem prime candidates.

There is nothing in this league that hard work, consistency and a sprinkling of quality cannot overcome. How the likes of Cardiff, Preston, Wednesday, Birmingham, Ipswich are top ten - shows this is a bang average league.

The relaxing of FFP gives Venkys a 3 year window - I believe with a decent kitty and wage structure Lambert will do in in 2. They have nothing to lose (they've lost millions).

It needs a positive summer with a few quality additions - that will boost ST sales. Hit the ground running and I am sure home crowds will rise accordingly. No backing and Ewood will be a morgue next year.

For sure it's made up abs. My gut feel is promises were made to bring Lambert in, Venky's being Venky's will come up short and Lambert will walk away. I had a dream.

Unfortunately , I think you maybe right ...Venkys have previous in lies and deceit...

If I was to guess we will spend £5-£7m

Not a warchest as such but a decent amount to play with

I reckon this too, perhaps even £10m depending on who is available and who leaves. I can't see why they would have spent on bringing him and his backroom staff in if they weren't going to back him.

You're making perfect sense BUT Lambert would not be making the noises he is if he had received the necessary assurances.

I keep going back to this I know but what other explanation is there?

Venkys don't do perfect sense do they?

Venkys make no sense at all...

Depends if he's just replying to questions he wouldn't otherwise answer. I don't know it just seems to be something a manager always says at the end of a season when they are rebuilding. He's more or less saying. "Given the chance I want us to win the league." That's all.

Or perhaps he's worried that results haven't been as good as anticipated and they may have lost some faith in his ability to get them promoted. Even in the Telegraph comments you've got people saying that Lambert's done no better than Bowyer would have done.

I don't believe that at all, I think with Bowyer we'd be in real trouble now. I'm sure Venky's with their lack of knowledge will probably not take anything other than results into account though. Hopefully they keep the faith and give him some money to spend.

The way the teams I'd have expected to struggle are putting together results lately we would have definitely struggled to stay out of the drop zone. Would we have got a result like yesterday's ? Maybe Bowyer would have pulled another Gestede out of the bag to pull us clear. Somehow I doubt it. We'd have been playing Rochdale next season.

I'm guessing Venkys weren't at the game as Im sure someone would have reported it. Pretty @#/? if thats the case, if they are planning to be in the country to supposedly speak with PL.

Well not sure whether its been mentioned on here or not but Lambert's meeting is most likely to take place in Zurich during the international break. According to Kamy on twitter.

If Lambert carries on after that meeting it's a good sign. If the meeting doesn't happen it's a bad one.

But then again, it could just be Kamy speculating about a potential meeting and it actually means nothing at all.

It would be totally in-character for Venky's to finally hire an experienced managerial team and then hang them out to dry.

However, I do wonder what they must make of Lambert's recent comments. We all know they don't take kindly to the 'serfs' forgetting their place.

I doubt they'd hear about his comments unless some minion dares to risk their job/neck by telling them.

Exactly, hence why I never got the "speaking to Pune" comments made about managers interviews in the past.

Speaking to someone in Pune probably, like a receptionist or PA. It's funny how no other manager has spoke of a direct line to the owners since Kean.

I've yet to hear what Mr Babu is doing in regards to his directorship, perhaps he's the line to Pune and is the one who sits in on the irregular board meetings regarding Rovers with his list of questions from Lancashire which he'd probably seriously edit before presenting

I think one major reason that Lambert was so keen to get rid of Rhodes is because he was promised the money to re-invest. Personally I think the money available will be from his sale.

Perhaps this alleged 'speaking to Pune' is him saying 'Boro look like cocking it up, will you top us up £2m if they don't go up?'

I refuse to panic over this until the summer anyway. Not like I can affect anything on the money front.

Does this Babu bloke watch games at Ewood?

Think he starts most of the songs, doesn't he? Everybody should know he's a die hard Rover.

Think he's on a banning order for helping himself to a wooden seat at the Turf. They wanted one for the bog in Venkys towers, Pune.

I'm hoping that it isn't going to be 'business as usual' in the summer and Venky's think Lambert will just magically get us promoted with no money. They owe the club and the fans a big investment in players.

All depends on the motive behind selling Rhodes.

Was it to sacrifice a luxury player to gather transfer funds for the new boss...

...or was it to cash in their last remaining asset as part of a exit/downsize strategy?

Place your bets now!

Or was it to move on a player that didn't fit in with Lambert's ideas regarding playing systems ? The money was just a bonus ?
