Well what a difference a week makes eh?!

So refreshing to hear things like, 'front foot', 'FFP not an excuse' and 'more out of the players'.

Genuinely excited without expecting miracles.

Intrigued to see what his preferred system / XI is, given he's inherited the squad rather than built it.

We have a squad of players who without exception can give 10-20% more in games. A lot of football is all about the mental attitude and bringing in a positive and forward thinking attitude of development and improvement will get that extra.

I would expect an immediate new manager bounce followed by consolidation and steady points gathering over the next few games. Sure there will be some players who either can not or will not demonstrate improvement and they will undoubtedly be jettisoned relatively quickly.

It all amounts to the saying 'sh1t or get off the pot time' Only time will tell.

Out of order that. Parson made it clear that he was quitting the board about a month ago because of the constant abuse from people like yourself, so highlighting the lack of comment from someone who isn't there to answer is below the belt. His match reports were great whatever you thought of his other opinions. What have you contributed to this MB which is comparable?

Get a life, it was just a joke, I used to enjoy his unbiased match reports until bowyer came on board, I would welcome parsons reports again now that bowyer has gone

"However, although Bowyer often cited the embargo as a reason for Blackburns struggles, Lambert wants to adopt a more positive mindset."

"The more people talk about the lack of money, theres a negative thing on it because people can use that as an excuse, Lambert added. The main thing for ourselves is to start winning games. Lack of money wont necessarily make you lose games. But if you use it as an excuse its always going to happen."

Like a breath of fresh air this man....bring it on!

Time for the fans to unite, forward and up we go.

Wheelock will have to remove the template at the top of every single article he writes which reads "(Insert name of manager) who has been restricted by (Insert excuse) / being subject to a transfer embargo / unable to sign players for a fee / unable to pay more than 500k p.a./ for the Club failing to comply with FFP regulations."

Lol.

Just watched the press conference, said the right things, in a quite understated way.

Impressed that he's spent time watching training sessions abroad with quite a few teams over the past few months, shows a lot about the type of person he is, not resting on his laurels and wanting to improve. I think that will help him develop some of our squad too. The time in Germany may also help him bring in one or two players from these clubs too.

It feels great to actually feel positive about the club again. New manager starting from scratch with everyone, fanbase unanimously in favour of the appointment, the works. We've had fractures in the fanbase for 5 years now and this seems to have brought everyone together. Almost feels alien doesn't it?

Agree with the sentiments on his presser and interview, great to see a manager talking about getting more out of the players and winning more games. He looks genuinely happy to be here and driven to get results and move up the league. He looks to me like he has it in him to get the extra needed out of the players, he has a job on his hands though. Don't know if it's been mentioned here already but doesn't he look far healthier than he was at Villa?

I think the appointment will get a couple extra thousand on the gate to begin with, if he hits the ground running then I hope that will be sustained and even bettered.

Reminded me very much of Kenny. I think he will keep his cards close to his chest which maybe the press wont like, but who cares. They don't like us anyway.

I noted his comments about how the players need to believe in his way of working and how both he and the players all need the fans.

Well lets all do our bit from the terraces (stands, showing my age there.) and see what the players can deliver from their end. I suspect it wont take Lambert long to sort the wheat from the chaff.

Just watched the press conference then watched a post match interview near the end of his Villa tenure ... like 2 different people , his whole demeanour has changed at villa he was pale , shrivalled shoulders and spoke quieter and mumbled like he'd lost all confidence in what he was saying , today he was sure , refreshed and determined

I just hope if he feels the likes of Lowe and Williamson has a place in his plans that fans don't abruptly turn on him.

Let the manager manage, and the supporters support.

I think that will get answered soon enough

He came across excellent,

Im actually buzzing about the amount of positivity that appointing an experienced management team has brought.

Have not seen a single comment anywhere from anyone , which is against this appointment.

With the embargo also close to being lifted, there is much to wet the appetite for the remainder of the season and beyond.

Its going to be electric at Deepdale on saturday , and I for one cannot wait

Only joshing Not heard that for years!

Don't get too cheeky, you just spent the best part of 18 months trying to convince everyone there was absolutely no point in sacking GB as the V's we're bound to appoint someone worse! Lol.

Good to hear you and Debs might be coming up for games. Hope you enjoy them.

Not correct, but having just listened to the press conference for the first time I'm not going to get drawn into a ruckus.

We've been up to a few already this season, I'm sure we'll see a few more.

Just watched his press conference. Comes across as realistic but also a winner. The amount of times he mentioned that the first thing is to win football matches and that they would give everything to do so, was great to hear.

No talk of improving player values or making a % profit on players.

Won't use FFP as an excuse either.

Also, as others have said, impressed with how he's spent his time away from management. Going to other clubs, like Real, Dortmund etc. and watching/learning can only benefit us on the training ground.

Excited about the team and where we potentially could end up. I won't be expecting playoffs this season but I'm quietly confident we will be there or there abouts come the end of the season.
