[Archived] Official: Paul Lambert Appointed Blackburn Rovers Manager

No, No, No, Yes.

No budgets set, Lambert was under the impression he was getting 10m plus the majority of anything he lost from the wage budget - could still be the case, but nobody can get an answer. Everybody mightily @#/? off.

You seem very certain!

If you think not too long ago, Rovers are said to have come close to appointing the likes of Laudrop and Mancini as manager then I certainly think it's plausible that there was real interest in Warburton just less than 12 months ago. Anyhow, that's history now and we should only be concerned about the future, if there is one.

We're going around in circles here. You stated a rumour, which wasn't true. We are now talking about plausible, hypothetical situations, which may be true. I'm a combination of bored and confused.

Lambert is a better manager than Warburton.. Just my opinion

I agree.

Lambert has managed for longer, took a side from League One to the Premier League and kept them there, managed in the Premier League at a big club for 3 years.

Warburton had a couple of impressive years at Brentford where he got promotion from League One then into the play-offs, before getting Rangers promoted from the 2nd division in Scotland (which at this stage I would say any manager with any idea what he's doing would have achieved this season).

He might turn out to be better than Lambert in the coming years but to do that he'll need to move back down South and get into the Premier League.

Whilst I do think in time Lambert would come good st the moment there is a massive similarity to Appletons brief reign.

Straight talking, not scared to blame the players and criticise what has gone but with uninspired performances on the pitch.

Although I think Lambert has given us more reason to be optimistic than Appleton ever did. I can't remember one good performance under Appleton. Even the fantastic win at Arsenal wasn't pretty. Lambert has demonstrated enough to me to suggest that given a full pre-season and his own squad he could improve our fortunes on the pitch. We've had a bad few weeks, albeit not helped by mindblowing ineptitude from some of our players, but for me the signs are there of a manager with a plan, who now probably knows he isn't going to be here much longer, and so do the players.

We have nobody in Blackburn to deal with wages, contracts, transfers, budgets etc etc, the press is Lamberts only outlet and I applaud him for saying what he thinks instead of hiding behind the usual 'Venkys veil of secrecy'

Paul Lambert is calling these fools out, they need someone to tell them just how it is and if he doesn't get the right answers I firmly believe he'll walk and rightly so.

When/if he walks we'll have the same sections of our support/posters telling us:

"Well what can we do, Venkys are our only option"

If he walks over broken promises I'm done until they feck off :angry2:

Does anyone really think that another change of manager will help?

No, Lambert hasn't set the world on fire but at least give him a pre season and tell him exactly what his budget is, (even if it isn't as much as he wants).

I agree with those saying fair play to him for speaking out. Much rather that than another nodding dog.

If / when he leaves, the club will be in even more turmoil and the plans for next season set back even further.

Those idiots never learn.

Hawksbee and jacobs just mentioned it sounded like lambert had had enough of the owners at rovers

Will he be the first to leave without a none disclosure agreement? If he is and with the way he has been spouting, perhaps we are about to get some information from within!
