Gav Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 would relegation next season stir the remaining fans into action or not ? Only the game when we went down the fans would possibly kick off and even that games not a given. All this uncertainty could be put to bed with 1 phone call from Pune to Blackburn, job done, get on with next season. Why thats so @#/? difficult is beyond comprehension, defies logic, absolute bonkers

Backroom DE. Posted April 19, 2016 Author Backroom Posted April 19, 2016 It was when he first joined so yes but my initial point is he is doing what he said is wrong to do, this was his quote: The more people talk about the lack of money, theres a negative thing on it because people can use that as an excuse, Lambert added. The main thing for ourselves is to start winning games. Lack of money wont necessarily make you lose games. But if you use it as an excuse its always going to happen. And it has...
Ivorsemion Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Regardless of what Lambert has said in the past, what I witnessed on Saturday was a lack of effort, commitment and belief from almost all of the players. The embargo has undoubtedly had an impact on the level of quality/ability in the team, but I would expect the management team to be largely responsible for instilling commitment, belief etc into the players.

How can you instil commitment when the club shows non back? Would you be risking injury when possibly looking for a new club? Most people wouldn't.
Ivorsemion Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 How can you instil commitment when the club shows non back? Would you be risking injury when possibly looking for a new club? Most people wouldn't. It must be a very difficult job, regardless of how much Lambert & Irvine are being paid. Who knows what the mindset of the players is at the moment - are they playing for the fans (it didn't seem like it), or are they playing for the owners? I'm reluctant to use the term 'club' as that would mean fans, players, board of directors(do we still have any?) & owners are all in this together!
ABBEY Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 The only thing the players are playing for is themselves and not the team
koi Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Michael Gove for CEO? Then we'd never get into Europe.
AllRoverAsia Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 The only thing the players are playing for is themselves and not the team They majority then obviously do not think much of themselves
Speedie Dived Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Passing on a rumour i have heard. Lambert to go before end of season to be replaced by Irvine and Dunny permanently.
davulsukur Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Passing on a rumour i have heard. Lambert to go before end of season to be replaced by Irvine and Dunny permanently. Genuinely, nothing would surprise me with these clowns. In fact, that rumour is very believable.
G Somerset Rover Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 If I were Dunny I'd think twice about tarnishing my legend reputation at the club ala Berg.
Leonard Venkhater Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Passing on a rumour i have heard. Lambert to go before end of season to be replaced by Irvine and Dunny permanently. This would be so typical....and no surprise. It is back to Stuart's frog in luke warm water metaphor. This would be a brilliant, divide and rule stalling strategy, as people split into two camps-one pushing for action/protest etc and the other wanting to give decent guys like Irvine and Dunny "a chance." The chance for Irvine and Dunny message would be supported by the media, who will refuse to see the bigger picture. However familiar and nice the new nurses are, Venky's are a cancer and we need drastic surgery!
Gav Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Passing on a rumour i have heard. Lambert to go before end of season to be replaced by Irvine and Dunny permanently. Just a rumor I know, but..... If thats the case I'm done until those ****s leave the club, they've taken the p1ss out of the fans for long enough. My dad hit the roof when I told him I'm packing it in if Lambert walks, don't let them win, 5 generations and all that, but I'm taking no more. Paul Lambert is the only good thing thats happened to this club since they took over and for them to ferk it up
Leonard Venkhater Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 If I were Dunny I'd think twice about tarnishing my legend reputation at the club ala Berg. Get real !!
Speedie Dived Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 If I were Dunny I'd think twice about tarnishing my legend reputation at the club ala Berg. He would be in the assistant role, not joint managers.
JHRover Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 I've suspected for a number of weeks that Irvine is Lambert's ready made replacement. I suppose it says it all when Irvine would actually represent a decent appointment when compared to Kean, Berg and Appleton, by way of his standing in the game and experience from Preston, Wednesday and West Brom. If Lambert walks then the football world will know that these people are impossible to work for and I suspect that someone like Irvine will be the best we can attract. We certainly won't be shopping around for managers already employed elsewhere. Venkys have always preferred to promote from within at all levels. Kean, Agnew, Bowyer, McPhillips, Myers - all already in place and waiting for promotion when a vacancy arose. Our next manager will almost certainly be one of Irvine, Kelly, Johnson or Dunn. That way there's no need for a proper managerial search and no need for compensation. The circus can continue with little/no input needed from India.

A false dawn when Lambert was appointed. Just how typical would it be of Venky's to make one good decision and then follow it up with so many terrible ones? Fecking unreal.

Imagine 10 games in to next season, if we have a bad start and are languishing near the bottom. Some fans will turn on Dunny and that just can't be a good thing.
donnermeat Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 I've nothing against Irvine but that could be it for me too I think.
JHRover Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Imagine 10 games in to next season, if we have a bad start and are languishing near the bottom. Some fans will turn on Dunny and that just can't be a good thing. No it certainly can't, and I don't want him to be involved in the coaching set up. I could just about live with Irvine and Kelly as our managerial duo had they been appointed immediately after Bowyer as they are experienced and well respected in the game, but to replace Lambert if he walks out would be different. Ultimately unless they pull a rabbit out of the hat and get another big name then it won't matter to me who they go for next, as the big thing for me will be Lambert walking and the impact it will have on the fanbase and club as a whole. It will be devastating.
donnermeat Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Hurts to see the club be continued to run this way.
BlueMonday Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 The touch paper has been lit! They won't be able to give season tickets away if this happens. Simply waiting for administration.
Blandy Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 This was tweeted by Moose the Talksport presenter when Dunn came back as U21 assistant! Ian Abrahams (Moose)Verified account @BroadcastMoose Feb 27 I hear David Dunn has been made Blackburn u21 assistant @AlanBiggs1 I'm told local bookies saying he will succeed Lambert, anything in it?
Roverall Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 The touch paper has been lit! They won't be able to give season tickets away if this happens. Simply waiting for administration. David 'Get Real' Dunn, Blackburn Rovers 'Legend' and Steve Kean Bootlicker. But still the simpletons will renew, sqeauling 'Give Dunny a chance!'
