There is a great quote from the film "Looking for Eric". United fan saying you can get divorced, move houses but you can never leave your club. An FC united fan pipes up "My club left me".

It's past the stage of the owners having to go a long time ago, my only decision now is will my continued attendance keep them here longer? If so, it will be time to not go.

Love that film and that's a great reference.

It's hard to put into words what the Indian half wits have done to this club, but they have succeeded in taking it from the fans and the town. With Hughes in the dugout and John Williams looking after the books we were a decent mid table premiership side with an occasional cup run, and maintained premiership status seasons in and out (unlike the Orcs from Mount Doom managed by Radaghast the Ginge).

Where are we now ?, inexplicably dismantled and a laughing stock. That observation is spot on, the club left us.

no surprise to hear this rumour tbh. I have been saying it for a few weeks that I thought Irvine would be interested in taking over at Rovers if Lambert does leave

I think Irvine will be decent appointment if he does but I think would much rather keep Lambert as manager tbh and I really hope he does

don't see him as manager but as a coach

Lambert signed a 2 and half years contract when he became Rovers manager.

Lambert wanted Irvine as his number 2 at Villa but couldn't due to he was still under contract at WBA on Gardening leave

I think he will aswell cos he hasn't set the world on fire since coming here. don't see him getting the Celtic job tho

I can see Moyes being 1st choice there and I can see him taking it. no Premier League jobs available and a chance for him to rebuild his reputation there

And like I said what happens behind the scenes and what gets put out in public often aren't one and the same. You'll never learn though............

Lambert's comments after the game yesterday.

Interesting that his 'recommendations' to the owners are thought to include proposals to revamp the pitches at Ewood and Brockhall.

This is a manager who is looking right across the board to improve the club. He's basically saying that the club have neglected their pitches for the last few years and that money will have to be spent on revamping them to get them up to Championship standard.

I thought the pitch at Ewood was terrible over the winter, although this could be down to the huge amounts of rainfall and lack of sunlight as much as poor maintenance. I noticed in the game against Huddersfield that the pitch is looking a lot better than it was a few months ago but is still some way behind those seen at Forest and Sheffield Wednesday recently, who have both invested heavily into their playing surfaces whilst Ewood has seen minimal investment. Such a shame because for many years Ewood had a fantastic playing surface.

They re did the pitch properly last time though didn't they rather than just a cheapo reseeding job ? The unreal wet weather of the last 12 months has been a major factor in that. A more average British summer this time and it should come to a bit by next season.

The increasing demands he's making seem to be gathering pace. Is he after the sack or what ?

Hoping PL sees this as the wrong time to manage Celtic. Celtic is a big rebuilding job and the return of Rangers, added to the improvements of Aberdeen and Hearts, brings more pressure. I doubt the SPL will be the procession it's been for the last few seasons.

I'm probably clutching at straws, as he's got to prefer Celtic to Rovers, sadly.

  • Moderation Lead

Nixon is firing up the rumour overdrive machine as we speak no doubt.

I'm picturing Nixon over a cauldron with a big wooden spoon, in his element. He's like a teenage girl.
