Mattyblue Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 I noted that Gallacher's column in his LT column yesterday: http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/14129863.Kevin_Gallacher_column__Play_offs_should_be_the_target_for_revitalised_Blackburn_Rovers/ "IT’S only three games ago that we thought we were toiling but, after seven points out of nine, all of a sudden it’s looking good." "But even though I’ve lessened my expectations for Blackburn Rovers over the last few years, I still think the target has to be the play-offs." That's odd as I distinctly recall him saying that Bowyer was doing a good job though we were nowhere near reaching the play offs. As always only takes a few games for the pundits to do a total volte face.

I wish he'd hold his hands up and say he got it wrong with Bowyer and his exaggerations at how poorly Gaz was treated by Venky's. If we had kept Bowyer, picked up two points from three games and sat near the bottom, I have no doubt Gally and the gang would be making the same old excuses. All the while criticising anyone who dare want better or speak a bad word about Bowyer of course.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted December 9, 2015 Moderation Lead Posted December 9, 2015 Gallacher is a bit of a goon as a pundit. He just supports the establishment imo....
Neal Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Bowyer must be having a laugh if he puts in for unfair dismissal... Venkys reaction will be something like this...
Amo Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Every football manager up and down the country would be filing for 'unfair dismissal' if that were the case.
yoda Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Every football manager up and down the country would be filing for 'unfair dismissal' if that were the case. Or signing an NDA with pay off
chaddyrovers Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Heard it slightly different with an unfair dismissal case in the offing Thats not what Ive heard.

Well,I stopped taking any notice of Kevin's comments long ago.Someone posted on here that he commented in a Newcastle paper that NUFC should pull out all the stops to to get Mark Hughes from Rovers, just as he was commenting in the LET that Rovers should move Heaven and earth to keep him. To be fair, though, my abiding sense is that former players generally have too many blocks to telling it how it really is. Mick Rathbone was a notable, refreshing exception on Radio Lancs-even if his words were sometimes painful to hear.
Gav Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Old boys network is rife throughout football, especially when the boots are hung up. Look at the idiots that have gotten cushy numbers on talksh1te and Sky sports, you wouldn't employ some of them to buy your groceries or mow the lawn. Gallagher looks after his own interests like the rest of them, his comments, or lack of, whilst the jock drunk was manager were a disgrace, and he lives in the area also! No morals, it's all about looking after your own interests and remaining part of the old boys network.
Al Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Sacking GB and the selective but drastic clearance of staff was mind blowing Selecting PL and actually getting him in the teeth of serious interest from elsewhere was mind blowing 7 points out of 9 are mind blowing Taking the lead in 3 consecutive matches is mind blowing Looking like we might be able to defend a lead is mind blowing Listening to PL saying sensible things is mind blowing Exiting FFP restrictions is mind blowing Just having the ability to wheel and deal in January with a boss who has the real deep contacts PL has is far out psychedelic, man, type of mind blowing. have all come at once for me and its going to be every day now Praising Chris Brown to the press is mind blowing.
yoda Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Thats not what Ive heard. What have you heard Chaddy ?

I don't rate him as a pundit and I think you are right, it's all about Gallagher himself. Couldn't warm to him as a player as I thought his attitude was poor when not playing and on the bench - IMV, his body language said it all.
booth Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 I thought Gallachers attitude as a player was excellent.
deryck guyler's spoon Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 I thought Gallachers attitude as a player was excellent. Me too. I can't understand why his attitude is being questioned, he never appeared not to be giving his best and wasn't a moments trouble to the club. He was a fine player.
47er Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 I thought Gallachers attitude as a player was excellent. Me too. I don't follow that one. Excellent player for us. Scored some fantastic goals.
Pedro Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Glad you're happy at last philipl. It's good to see...and mind blowing 😃
chaddyrovers Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 What have you heard Chaddy ? I will ask my source whether I can put it on here or not. Depends on that person
only2garners Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Praising Chris Brown to the press is mind blowing. What did you think of Brown's performance at Ashton Gate then Al?
yoda Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 I will ask my source whether I can put it on here or not. Depends on that person You could PM me
Pedro Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 If there is any truth in the unfair dismissal rumour then my respect for the man will plummet and the intuition that he was deluded and more interested in self-saving, rather than wanting the best for the club, will carry some serious weight.
tomphil Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 He'll end up in footballs foreign wastelands like you know who if he's pulling those strokes. Doesn't look like there was anything unfair about it for any of them when you consider the form of the whole last 12 months. Unfortunate yes, unfair no. Wouldn't be the first time they've tried to slither out of a pay out though, wonder if shelf drew up their contracts Hopefully there's nowt in it and they get what they are owed.
OJRovers Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Is there any truth in the rumour that Bowyer had tried to sack some of his coaching staff immediately prior to getting sacked himself? Think I read it on here or on Twitter.
Steve Kean's Hypnotoad Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 I thought Gallachers attitude as a player was excellent. Me too. Loved him as a player, class act at number 10.
BlueMonday Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Is there any truth in the rumour that Bowyer had tried to sack some of his coaching staff immediately prior to getting sacked himself? Think I read it on here or on Twitter. Why would he do that, to take the heat off himself?
yoda Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Why would he do that, to take the heat off himself? Chaddy knows the answer, apparently
