Oh dear. This is an old argument and has been debunked on many an occasion:-

1) He had to start from scratch so he had to bring in a lot of players.

2) Some of these were loans, some youth players, some back-up. Bowyer's record in the transfer market was good.

3) 40 (if it was that number) isn't a lot in the Championship over 3 years. Other teams brought in more. Rover's released over 50 players during this time, some of them on ridiculous wages. it was a massive rebuilding job, unprecedented in Rovers recent history.

4) If you think Bowyer not having much money to spend is 'utter tosh' then i suggest you do your own research on how much other Chamionship clubs spent in the 3 years he was here. Many team spent more on one player than Bowyer did in 3 years. Our 'beloved team' is made up of cast-offs, Academy graduates and a big-money signing who looks like he can't be arsed.

5) yesterdays result was because Lambert couldn't get a tune out of the players that beat Ipswich 3-0 a few weeks ago, and that the players Lambert prepared were out-fought by a team that hadn't won for 18 games.

Blimey Blueboy, your posting has gone into overdrive after this defeat.

As I've got a bit of time on my hands I thought I'd check if you were as prolific following a defeat under Bowyer. Funnily enough you weren't.

And the most biased claptrap post of 2015 goes to ..

Wigan thought they had taken on a "proper manager" with both Coyle and Mackay (both of whom had taken a club to the Prem) and look how it worked out for them. Why is PL any different? It seems he's trying impose a playing "style" that is not suited to the players currently at his disposal and, by yesterday's disinterested display, not accepted by them either.

That's why (if we are serious about promotion next year) they need culling. Not enough effort and fight in them.

1) No he decided to start from scratch, no-one else. Unprecedented in football not just Rovers, not even Wolves Kenny Jackett released as many of his high earners as we did. But the real question is why did he have to do what no other manager in footballing history has done.

2) Gestede etc were highlighted by the scouting team before GB took over, fact. How did he do after those ones?

3) All his choice, all down to him, what is the point of signing players who will not improve us? surely as opposed to 40 players who are in your own words not good enough he should have combined the money and signed 4-5 who were good enough to improve us?

4) He spent all his available funds on paying players off and then signing others to replace the ones he couldn't motive/handle. As stated it has never happened anywhere before, why did he have to do it??? All that money wasted paying off 80% plus of people's contracts or millions we could have spent elsewhere and on better players.

5) And each and everyone signed by your messiah, players who won't challenge him, push him and just come along for the ride. Yes PL should have gotten more out of them, but those are their personalities. They turned up expecting to win, just as they did under GB many times.

PS all of the above is your opinion, nothing more and nothing less, so far your opinions have reaped poor returns as GB went the way of to dodo.

He's gone deal with it, he failed, you backed a dead horse and now flip to critiquing his successor in the manner you spent ages berating everyone on here for.

Below are the only facts that matter:

3 wins in 7 eclipses GB's 3 in 17 and thank god for that!!

Of course it's my opinion. What a silly statement. Just like the highlighted part is your opinion.

I'm fine with Bowyer leaving, he had probably done as much as he could. He did a good job though so stating i backed a 'dead horse' is nonsensical. He did sign players that improved us which is why they got sold for big money, and why we finished in the top ten in his two full seasons in charge. Not a bad effort really in a very tough division.

I'm not berating anyone, just putting forward my opinion on a public forum. Don't take things personally on behalf of other people. You aren't a mod.

How could we afford to 'buy' better players if he kept the high-earning dross he inherited? The money was gone, we're a £100m in debt. Which players should he have kept? I don't see any of them doing well elsewhere. Anyway, i keep being told on here that Bowyer had nothing to do with getting rid of the big earners and that he can't take any credit for it?

By 'critiquing' Lambert I am just pointing out the hypocrisy of those that claimed Bowyer was a dud who should have got us promoted because we had a 'top 6' squad, and who have now changed their tune to 'the players aren't good enough and it's all Bowyer's fault again cos the players aren't good enough'. That and the fact Lambert has taken us backwards performance-wise and is getting less out of the players than Bowyer did. It's a good job Lambert had took over at a point when we had some favourable fixtures. He won 3 and thank god for that like you say, but i remember Kean starting well in the Championship. It really doesn't mean anything if you get a few lucky wins in your 1st few games, it's how you do long-term that counts. I'm still hopeful he'll do well but no goals in open play from 7 games is frankly pathetic, and rather telling of the 'style' he wants to play. The 'fact' he says we've been playing well seems to suggest he's more than willing to 'accept mediocrity'. Fast, attacking football it aint...so far. Lets see how Lambert does against Cardiff? Reckon we'll score/have a shot? Beyond that the fixtures in Jan and especially Feb look very tough.

I'll take your word for it on Gestede, can i ask how you know though? Perhaps you work in football?

Anyway, you sound familiar. Did you use to post under another name (or 3)?

I get it. Bowyer Good Lambert Bad. Repeat Repeat f'ing Repeat.

''Massive demolition job'' more appropriate.

Yesterdays result due to Lambert not getting a tune out of a bunch of 3rd raters assembled by ................... Bowyer the Good.

Lambert isn't Merlin the Magician. He's not an Alchemist who can turn Bowyers Turds into Gold.

Indeed I was but even I gave Bowyer more than 7 games.

My posts on the need to remove Bowyer were borne out of a love for the club though, one would have to ask what your motives are?

I'll engage with you for a moment. Bowyer was good, he's gone. Lambert had a good start but the performances have been atrocious. He talks a good game but the polar opposite seems to be happening on the pitch the more games he has. He is getting no more criticism than Bowyer got repeatedly on here. Fair's fair. Managers who walk into a club giving it the big I AM tend to get a rougher ride than those that just get on with the job. Maybe he shouldn't have shot his mouth off about 'accepting mediocrity' and 'moaning about the embargo' before he'd even taken charge of a game. I personally think he's a bit of a gobshyte. This is fine if you've actually achieved something at a club like Big Sam and Souness, but lambert has achieved the square root of feck all at Rovers. Maybe he just annoys me like Bowyer annoyed you. Is that a problem for you?

It's the internets. Most of the people on here are protected by anonymity. Wouldn't surprise me in the least if the likes of Blueboy3333 & Roverzee turned out to have ties to the old regime. Not because I disagree with their views but because of their double-standards to the current manager and their vociferous defence of the former incumbent.

Jeez. The paranoia is rampant. My 'liking' of Bowyer was also borne out of love for the club but let's not engage in who the loves the club most eh? My annoyance with Lambert comes from the lack of respect he had for the man who preceded him...and the abject performances that have followed.

I'm using the same standards for the new manager that you and many others used for the last one. This seems to upset you to the point you think I somehow have personal ties to Bowyer

Double-standards indeed.

You're judging Lambert after one month, we judged Bowyer after 30 months of mediocrity.

It's no wonder I'm questioning your motives.

The problem is blueboy you are saying over and over how you are trying to point out the hypocrisy but it's as clear as day you are loving it when we lose, you are as bad as every single person you criticised for being critical of Bowyer. You are desperate to be proven right even at the detriment of the team and I would say your posting has doubled in the days following a defeat.

When it gets to that point the best thing to do is take a step back. I did it myself once when I found I was more invested in the bickering than the game itself then again I found myself feeling very distanced from it all under Bowyer

People are seeing through the act, a lot of words and a well written a post don't change the underlying aim.

It still amazes me that after decades of being THE team who is kindest to strikers on a massive barren spell, or teams who haven't managed a win for months...that this loss came as a shock.

We're the gift that just keeps on giving.

McDermott has managed 3 games since he returned to Reading and won one, lost the other two. The solitary win was against us.

Bolton not won in seventeen league games. Win against us.

There's two examples from our last two matches! We need players in the blue and white who refuse to roll over and let their belly's be tickled. For my money only our centre halves would sweat blood for the cause - and that's at a push.

Thank you I thought it best to articulate at your level.

At the very least Lambert should be given time as Bowyer was. To be pilloried within a few weeks of his appointment and before he has had any chance of using a transfer window is vindictive in the extreme.

Just to set the record straight - Lambert took over a Wycombe team that had finished in the play-offs in the previous season and achieved 2 finishes outside the playoffs (12th then 7th). He took over at Colchester following relegation from the Championship and they finished 12th before he went to Norwich. He has had success at just one club - Norwich.

Seventh in League Two is the play offs as there are three automatic promotion places. Wycombe were disappointed that Lambert resigned which suggests he did a good job.

He wouldn't have got the Norwich job if he hadn't impressed at Colchester.

Looking at Villa today I'd say him keeping them clear of trouble for his first two seasons was a success. His third season was a failure.

You keep quoting my posts in what i assume is in a 'mod' capacity, yet you fail to do this to the number of WUMS on here who post one-line pithy nonsense about 'Rhodes-haters', 'Bowyer-ettes', 'happy-clappers' and the like (maybe they are the kind of post's you encourage and think better reflect BRFCC.com?) I say you're posting in a 'mod' capacity because otherwise you just seem to be getting annoyed at another person's opinion on football, which differs from yours, and then making it personal. You don't seem so quick to jump on your board 'chums' so let's assume i'm getting a friendly warning.

If i had done anything other than offer my opinion on football-related matters i might take you seriously. You're only annoyed because you don't agree with my posts. I'm taking a few personal digs from other board members and replying in a measured fashion, yet you have a problem with me? Is there a party-line i should follow? maybe 'pin-it' so i know what i need to say. I think Lambert's a bit of a tit for the reasons i've posted. Nothing more.

I don't love it when we lose. It costs me money to feel miserable. It also makes me angry when i see a performance like yesterday's.

I get loads of things wrong. My 'opinion' being proved right or not is pretty meaningless as it's only my opinion. I'm surprised it matters on an MB but it obviously does to some. The need to be proved right has been pervasive on this board for two years or more. Why didn't you mention it before?

The increased number of posts following a defeat has also been pervasive on this board for the last 2 years. Again, why didn't you mention it before?

I take offence at your last line. An act? Which people? I just post what i feel within the guidelines set out by the owners of the board.

Bottom line: My opinion differs to yours and your board friends. That's your problem. All that you have just accused me of has been going on for the last 2 years. Please don't patronise me and tell me to take a 'step-back'. Ban me if you like but in the words of Groucho Marx 'I don't care to belong to any club that will have me as a member' :)

In future, out of courtesy, if you want to give me a 'dressing down' do it via the official channels.

Cheers.

It was a friendly bit of advice, not a 'dressing down' of any kind. No need to take it personally. He wasn't even suggesting you were doing anything wrong.

He merely suggested you appear to be getting wound up, so maybe take a brief step back and make sure it's the football you want to debate rather than just try to be proven right.

Nothing more, nothing less.

I'm fine, i wasn't the one being insulting. .

I've already said i've no interest in being proven right about anything. Why repeat the accuasation? Are you a WUM trying to get a reaction?

Oh and please read the last line of my post. If you too want to get involved in a 'mod' capacity, like you are now, do it via PM as i requested.

Stop peddling it as fact then if it is silly.

His aim was promotion as was well documented and by his own admission, so yes dead horse is apt. He failed in his aims and as such claiming he did a good job is nonsensical. Top ten is not good when the aim is top 6 minimum, this is sport, winning is all that matters, no-one cares if you finish 7th or 10th.

Yawn, it wasn't me it was him Mrs, honest. School ground stuff blueboy3333.

Please cite another club that has paid off circa 15 first teamers? I await with baited breath as you cannot. He needed to motivate them, make them better, just as Hughes and Sam did when they took over teams heading only one way.

No you are not, you doing exactly what you have constantly picked out others for, it is poor and rather childish as if your own actions/words do not count. You display nothing but double standards by doing so and in fact given your words, you make your self look foolish.

It was posted on here.

How can I sound familiar, we are yet to speak, what you most likely mean is I write in a style that you find familiar. No charge for the aid, but the next ones not free. Silly statement!

PS I don't do homework, just in-case you were wondering

A better (fair) way to beat Lambert or Bowyer would be to use the same yardstick. While I personally think its too early to comment about Lambert, what should be discussed should be related to this season as both Bowyer (before he got the sack) and Lambert are working with the same set of players. Basically we are comparing who is making better use of the available resources. What Lambert would have done with x or y players who are no longer with the club is just speculation.

What should be compared is

a) Tactics Employed this season with the same set of players - Are Lamberts tactics better than Bowyer? If yes, in what way? If not, why not? Formations, player positions, player roles, playing instuctions (offensive-defensive), analysing the opposition, playing to our strengths, etc.

B) Man management and motivation - Is Lambert extracting more from our existing players compared to Bowyer? Can he motivate X Y or Z player to score goals or play better? If yes who has improved and how? Who is not showing improvement and why?

If one just says all our players are @#/? and no manager Bowyer or Lambert of even Mourinho can make them better then there is no comparison in terms of a manager's tactical or man management abilities. So, that would and should not be a arguement for comparing managers as nobody will be able to "polish the turd" so to speak. :)
