kevinyahoo100 Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Hello there. I'm writing an article about Per Frandsen (it's a kind of Where Are They Now? thing) and I want to get fans' memories about him as a player. Any memories/stories you have - good or bad - please post them here. Doesn't even have to be a story/memory as such, could just be your general view on his solitary season at Blackburn. Especially good would be any personal memories you have of meeting him/seeing him around town - stuff like that. I'd want to use some of the your quotes for the article, which will appear on the Yahoo Football website this week. So if you don't want your comments to be used then let me know, and they won't be. I should point out I'm not a Rovers fan, I'm actually a Hammer. Feel free to abuse me for this! Cheers, Kevin

roverandout Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 You won't get 'hammered' for it, he was a good technical player, didn't really pull up any trees while he was here, Bolton was where he made his name really.
BlueMonday Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 We'll not mention that Teves goal then...
tomphil Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 He was Bolton at heart I think and never really settled here and the fans never really took to him. Still a good player on his day but like I say his heart never looked in the job and he only really landed because we offered Bolton good Wonga and him a good contract. He certainly wasn't the only one of that ilk around the time.
Theprodigy Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Was at rovers during a period when everything was going wrong for us and he was a bit of a scapegoat going off memory. Not a happy time for him or us.
McClarky Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Can barely remember him. He played for us during that awful season which started with Kidd and ended with Siuness didn't he? Made little impression and ended up back at Bolton.
bob fleming Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 It never happened for him at Rovers. Seemed to have lost any semblance of pace. Good on the ball mind you. Just one of those that didn't work out. All in all, pound for pound, a bad signing.
A cup of beans Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Couple of belting free kicks, but offered little else. Never up for it. Disinterested, if I'm being kind.
pjt Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Played too far forward in midfield for rovers. Good shot on him though.
Ricky Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 I was in the Kop when we beat Liverpool 1-0 and I think he had an assist for Nathan Blake to score. That's about all I really recall him doing.
Baz Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Here you go.. https://youtu.be/PWMq97su-eo Could the commentator have sounded any less gutted?
matt83 Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Didn't noblots manager Colin Todd if memory serves resign on the strength of us buying per frandsen behind his back as it were. Other than that as far as rovers goes think he'd be at home on our flops list. Especially proportional to expectations.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 If you want the truth - a show pony. Another one of Kidd's flops. Bolton fans will probably have a different opinion of him but at Rovers he was poor.
ABBEY Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 He was a sulking bone idle dosser who didn't want be here .
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted November 26, 2015 Moderation Lead Posted November 26, 2015 He was a sulking bone idle dosser who didn't want be here . Harsh, but probably about right for the general consensus. He barely tore up any trees whilst here, then went right back to Bolton, where he probably shouldn't have left in all honesty.
T J Hooker Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 I remember he had a great season with bolton before we signed him, scoring bag loads from midfield. But i thought no way he will fit into a souness formation(bog standard 442) at all so it was a bit of a strange decision to sign him and inevitably as i thought, he couldnt find a position that suited him in our squad and was quickly moved on.

Frandsen was signed by Kidd, not Souness.

He barely tore up any trees whilst here, then went right back to Bolton, where he probably shouldn't have left in all honesty. i was on a christmas do when he went back and he was sat on the table behind me .The Bolton folk I was with were fawning over him and came round shaking hands with everyone, haha you can guess the rest. He came to shake mine and i asked him where he got the energy from as he didnt exert that much at Rovers,he asked if i was a rovers fan and when I said yes he squirmed and sat down. To be fair he sent me a bottle of red.
Jock Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 He was just another arsehole who robbed a fortune off Rovers. I'm sure it was a set up by The w@nky wanderers.
Amo Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 One of Bolton's talented Nordic contingent (Claus Jensen, Gudni Bergsson, Michael Johansen, Jussi Jaskelainen, Eidur Gudjohnsen). Didn't quite work out for him here, but you could say that about a lot of our recruits during this era.
Pedro Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Just never did it here. I had really high hopes for him, someone I thought was a great player before we signed him. Massive let down and no memories of him in a Rovers shirt.
JBiz Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Might have imagined this but I'm sure I remember Bolton fans singing "there's only one lazy b.." in an away cup game for us- I think the rovers fans joined in...
