LeftWinger Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 But i thought no way he will fit into a souness formation(bog standard 442) It wasn't only Kidd who signed him (as mention earlier in the thread), but Souness quite often varied from 4-4-2. We quite often played 3 at the back under Souness.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 Nathan Blake was another poor bolton signingAnother bone idle waster. I remember us playing the red rats in that game we had a player sent off and Beckham scored from that free kick. Souness took a striker off right away and sent Blake on for the last ten minutes. Blake was obviously under orders to run his legs off for the remainder of the game. All he did was amble about up front watching play while the rats bombarded us.i don't think he even touched the ball. How we got a draw out of it I'll never know.I could be wrong but I think that was Blake's last game for us. I would have liked to have been in the dressing room after the game, I'll bet Souey told him his fortune.
Baz Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 Hope he's ok, sounds like it may be pretty serious. http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/14109623.Ex_Wanderers_star_rushed_to_hospital_after_blood_clot_discovered_in_heart/
koi Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 Used to watch Bolton nearly as much as Rovers back in those days due to a bolton-supporting mate having spare season ticket. Frandsen was a real class act for them and I was dead keen for us to sign him. Pity he didn't want to come to us and he made that quite clear.

Leonard Venkhater Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 BRFC has been a frame of reference all through my life and some Rovers things you just never forget. I met two old friends at a funeral last year. When they asked how one of my sons was doing at college, I replied "Think Per Frandsen". They got the reference immediately and all three of us joined in with a rendition of " Lazy, Lazy @#/?!"

Backroom DE. Posted November 28, 2015 Backroom Posted November 28, 2015 He was decent on Champ Manager 97/98... other than that, don't remember much about his tenure here. Then again, very few of our signings seemed to work out well during that period.

Then again, very few of our signings seemed to work out well during that period. Lots of bad signings, too many people coming here purely for the money. Three ineffective managers who only knew how to get out the cheque book in that time, one after another.
kevinyahoo100 Posted November 30, 2015 Author Posted November 30, 2015 Many thanks for your help with this guys. The piece on Frandsen is now published and you can read it here although Bolton fans will probably enjoy it more! https://uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/blast-past-no-17-per-100040790.html It was published the day before it was reported that he is unwell. Unfortunate timing. Hope he is OK. Cheers, Kevin PS credited the site rather than individual posters as that gets a bit too messy
