Unusual that they sold that many. In early 98 Rovers were near top of the league and I'm sure West Ham didn't come even close to selling out for the FAC game at Ewood. Albeit that was a midweek game but it wasn't televised and Sunday isn't a preferred time for most fans. I'm sure ticket prices for that game in 98 were not through the roof.

Yeah but Sunday is still much easier to get to a game 200+ miles away than a midweek fixture, which is why I and hundreds of others weren't at Ewood tonight.

I asked last week why local Rovers fans wouldn't be going. The only two replies were that the Indians had driven some away and wouldn't come back until they were gone. The other was that some will watch on tv from the warmth of their living room (pathetic really) with a few drinks.

Are there any more reasons from local based supporters who aren't going? It would be interesting to know and if there are genuine reasons that the club might listen to they could perhaps be passed on.

I won't be going, I have a newborn daughter at home so I have to admit the lure of watching at home and not paying out more when we are down to one income is too tempting.

Appreciate that doesn't fit in with most people's viewpoints but it's how it is for me, sure I could afford £20 but at the moment I would rather not spend it and instead spend more time with my 4 year and and newborn (and the wife I suppose)

It's far and away the most they've ever had up here, probably double but they are a London club after all so the potential is always there.

I actually can't recall any London club filling all that end even though it's often been available if asked for. I'm talking Arsenal, Spuds & Chelsea here, most of them rarely filled the top and half the bottom. Still big numbers of course but a bit poor when you consider the size and success of some of them.

Charlton once had a good go at filling it when they laid on free transport which was a top effort considering their usual 250 on a good day in the Prem. But that other London club Man Yoo always filled it mind you !

Hopefully tonight will encourage a few more home fans to turn up. A friend of mine who is a ST holder said before kick off he had bought a ticket for Sunday but was debating taking it back if it was no better than Saturday. By the end he seemed quite happy to go so hopefully that shift in attitude will be mirrored elsewhere.

Good shout and congrats.

West Ham have a decent away record this year helping their away support.

Thank you. Funnily enough I haven't had a romance with the FA Cup for a while but then last year decided to take my son to his first ever game - against Stoke, one of the best days I'll probably ever have following Rovers, Josh King will always be a bit of a hero in my eyes!

Seems a good enough excuse to me Tom.

There will be others who are also elsewhere engaged, fair enough, however for a club our size, if the regular doesn't go, there isn't someone else there to take his seat (unless it's Liverpool, of course).

I can't believe you're not having second thoughts, Tom 😉

I respect your reasoning, but a thousand of us waverers are now seriously reconsidering our Sunday afternoon plans.

I'm more interested in the League games, which will be more of a reflection of our progress, but the atmosphere will be better on Sunday, especially if we can somehow sell 12 or 13000 tickets.

Offering a couple of thousand to schools would be a plan too.

Prepare to hear their Dmitri Payet song 150 times. I was at Southampton in the home end, watching their game the other week and they love that one.

I know they've had some great results this season but they weren't that great that day. Even against 10 men for most of the 2nd half (they lost 1-0).

Good news for us is they love to attack down the left wing due to Cresswell, and the absence of an attacking right back due to injuries. They'll have to play either Tomkins or Joey O'Brien there so just concentrate on the left wing.

They've got some powerful players though so we'll need to match them physically. Plus Payet can be top quality.

Hoping we get a decent result, couldn't really care less about the attendance.

I hope Rovers don't do what they usually do when an away team fills their allocation and stop home ticket sales on the day of the game. This is the prime example of a game whereby a fair few rovers fans will decide to go at the last minute.

No doubt there will be a meeting with the police and an announcement that tickets go off sale on Saturday!

There will definitely be plenty walk up to a match like this so if they can't come up with something other than stopping sales to sort out a few interlopers they want hanging. Not like there is any rivalry or anything just round up any making themselves known and remove them to a section of empties near their own.

That used to happen quite often in the past, I bet there a few on here who've been escorted round the pitch ;)

Anyone any idea of how many we've sold up to now for Sunday?

Nope but it's in today's LT that WHAM have sold their entire allocation of 7,200 and have asked for more tickets (none granted given segregation). Will be like a home match for the Hammers.

OneRovers Twitter account have said that 16,000 tickets have been sold so far, which includes the 7,000 away fans.

More Blues than Clarets! Rejoice!

If we can try and get up to 20,000, then I suppose it won't look too bad, though I can imagine the Jack Walker will be fairly full, the Riverside will not be!

Possibly should have kept the BBEnd upper tier closed...

They should have done that really as common sense would have told them it wouldn't be anywhere near full if it wasn't Liverpool. People in suits out of touch as usual. V Stoke last year the vast majority were in the JW and it was bouncing, they were singing. Don't think I've ever seen that happen before

As someone above mentioned, I really hope they sell tickets on the day, even if it runs the risk of West Ham fans travelling without tickets (doubt many would!).

Agreed on the last point, would definitely make sense to do that.

I think a fair few will get one in the next few days, once it gets closer people get the itch to go.
