AlanK Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Sat 3pm confirmed. I`ll be going to this one. Easy drive from Tewkesbury http://www.rovers.co.uk/news/article/blackburn-rovers-emirates-fa-cup-newport-county-2846457.aspx Bit of info http://www.footballgroundguide.com/leagues/england/league-two/rodney-parade-newport-county.html#awhat-is-it-like-for-away-supporters
Athlete Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Still no confirmation of the game or tickets the 3pm Having been removed from the website... What is going on
JHRover Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Still no confirmation of the game or tickets the 3pm Having been removed from the website... What is going on I can't understand what the hold up is. Newport have released ticketing information for their supporters. Presumably an allocation is automatically set for away fans in FA Cup ties and we will be priced the same as the corresponding home tickets. I imagine that Rovers are waiting to physically take possession of the tickets from Newport before broadcasting prices/availability.
TonyM Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 I seem to remember that SMC had a mysterious power failure around lunchtime on the day of the Willington afternoon replay and everyone got sent home .... ( rumour at the time was someone removed the main fuses). Happy days ....
arbitro Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Still no confirmation of the game or tickets the 3pm Having been removed from the website... What is going on It is still a 3 pm kick off according to Rovers website. I hope this doesn't change - I have booked my train on the basis of this. http://mobile.rovers.co.uk/fixtures/
JHRover Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 http://www.rovers.co.uk/news/article/emirates-fa-cup-newport-county-blackburn-rovers-tickets-travel-2852882.aspx Allocation of 1066 split between covered side stand and open temporary structure behind the goal. Go on sale this Thursday to season ticket holders who have been to 2 or more away games this season, then all season ticket holders from Monday next week. Imagine demand will be high for these, surprised the allocation is so low, would have expected 1500+.
Athlete Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Can't see these making it too a Monday sale
Husky Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Only £2 extra for "cover". That's Asda price.
AndyNeil Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 why have we got less tickets than a standard league match? I thought that there were rules about ticket allocation and FA Cup matches...
JHRover Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 why have we got less tickets than a standard league match? I thought that there were rules about ticket allocation and FA Cup matches... The rule always used to be the away club got 15% unless health and safety prevented it. Rodney Parade has a capacity of 7,850 for football according to Newports own website. They also advertise the away end as holding 1250. Fifteen percent of their ground should be around the 1250 mark, or just less.
Mattyblue Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 15% is the rule. Which looking at this: http://www.newport-county.co.uk/club/rodney-parade/ The standard away allocation of just under 1300 would cover that requirement. edit- great minds JH
old darwen blue Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 So basically they are cheating in the allocation. Just put a welsh accent on and go in the home end Only joking of course
onlyonetugay Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Well, for the 'friendly' in 1970, I was actually with Paddy Ell (if you remember him) in the Darwen End amongst all the Burnley fans. Twenty minutes from the end, the Rovers fans ran in to the Darwen End from the Riverside, scattering all and sundry (me included) in their wake. We ended up at the Darwen End gates on Nuttall Street. They were locked. Just when the police restored order, another mob of Rovers fans had come up Nuttall Street from the Blackburn End. By then, the gates had been opened and the Rovers fans ran in to the Darwen End from that direction. Nearly battered twice off my own supporters! But yes, as you say, most of the SMC Burnley fans were decent enough. I remember this game so well. Only 11 at the time and your recollection is spot on. I was in the Riverside with my Burnley supporting brother who was 16 and bragging that Burnley had " taken " the Darwen End. I think it was this match that the police decided Rovers fans should go in the Blackburn End, so Burnley hadn't really taken it. It all happened in the way you say it did and I took great pride in the fact that the Rovers fans took it back . The things we got excited about in our younger days.! It was always difficult in our house, my Dad and one brother were/are Burnley fans and me and my other brothers Rovers fans, due to our Accrington birthplace !
sambo Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 If any Rovers fan on here would be kind enough (it's a huge ask!) to supply a ST number and full name so that I could get my other half a Newport ticket, it would be very greatly appreciated! As I said, it's a big ask, but I have a ST myself but living in Cardiff she doesn't - given it's our local game we are both desperate to go! Like I said, it's a huge ask so I'm posting out of blind hope rather than expectation! Back on the game itself, it will be interesting to see the team Lambert picks. Can see a few fringe players being given a chance.
arbitro Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 I get two tickets this morning and was told that shop sales was steady but the telephone sales were higher than normal. They didn't think they would get to Monday on open sale.

Athlete Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 any update on ticket sales need em to go to Monday

If You are who I think you are, we've been to many a game together over the years!
sambo Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Thanks to people who have PM'd me with season ticket offers. Incredibly kind and a great reflection on this site!

I would have been 13, didn't the wall collapse at the front of the Darwen end?
AlanK Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Tickets are now on open sale on the Newport County site. Plenty left near the away fans in the Bisley Stand http://www.newportcountytickets.co.uk/
the original david brent Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Bit surprised at our sales, or more precisely lack of sales, for this so far; rovers twitter account today said we had sold 'more than half' of the allocation. I thought we would have sold out for this by now after the rush on Thursday morning. A mate of mine was refused tickets on Thursday as there was no record of some of his group going to 2 away games - this criteria looks a bit daft now!
