joey_big_nose Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Im sure PL will be looking at our attacking options. One decent parner for Rhodes is all we are looking for to improve our play. Someone who can either hold it up well or who can run the chanells but either way be a goal threat. We get that and Marshall, Conway and Lawrence will be much better. Rhodes is not a complete player - he is someone who depends on others output but when he does get it he is class. We are one quality signing away from a good attacking outfit. Really hope PL has some strikrs lined up (ideally two) with the cash incoming in Jan. I reckon he does. Brown is certainly not the answer. Was hoping Koita could do it but clearly not in PLs opinion and clearly he knows a lot more than me. IMO we have quality in every position apart from striker and RB. Lets get those positions sorted in Jan and crack on. All that said fantastic we are playing terribly and getting points. Thats a major improvement if totally unexplainable. Such is football.

47er Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 If Venkys had got their act together earlier, maybe Gestede wouldn't have gone and he and Rhodes would be spearheading our promtion challenge? Instead of that, he's struggling in a relegation haunted team while we struggle upfront. Missed opportunities which everyone else could see, is the story of Venky ownership.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Why would 'Boro bid £12m for Rhodes for their promotion push if he was such a liability, Den? Maybe they see themselves as a much better all round team that are making a panful of chances every week and are missing most of them. A stronger all around team could " carry " a Rhodes type goal poacher. Rovers don't fit that description at the moment.
dallydally Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Talk about winning ugly. Still a win however it comes = 3 points. After today's results we are only 4 points away from the play offs. A win on Monday will see us right in the mix!
Backroom Tom Posted December 13, 2015 Backroom Posted December 13, 2015 Who decided we were going to start playing goal music?
Pedro Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Who decided we were going to start playing goal music? Whoever they are, we need to hunt that person down...and harm them.
mhead Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Maybe we could use MUFC music.....they are not using it! Can we find another drummer plus assistants please? Atmosphere was much better. Oh and the big Flag.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Abject. Both sides. British football at its dullest. I’ll help that chap with his CDs. Patrick Valery. Very amusing re your wife. Tyrone. No. Perhaps Lawrence whose footballing brain was light years beyond anyone else on the pitch. Akpan who can be a solid water carrier but no more. Hanley, despite his red mist proclivities, looks sharp at this level. As a total unit? Poor. Dreaming of a Tuguy 31 or 39 years of age. A win is a win and all that, I guess. Every team has room for one " solid water carrier ".
Backroom Mike E Posted December 13, 2015 Backroom Posted December 13, 2015 Maybe we could use MUFC music.....they are not using it! Can we find another drummer plus assistants please? Atmosphere was much better. Oh and the big Flag. I'd have one of two songs for walk-on music, for very different reasons: 'Stronger' by Hard-Fi - Positive message, catchy, decent rock tune. Or 'Just can't get enough' by Depeche Mode - My favourite away day chant when it gets going, gets everyone bouncing! Also, a competent board may get The Saturdays in for a half-time performance
Riverside67 Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 A repeat of the Rotherham perfomance on Monday I doubt will give us the same result v Forest They just did not have anything up front. Nonetheless mamngers know that they can press high on the Rovers when we have the ball. We put pressure on ourselves by messing about at the back. They want us to play a long ball out because Rhodes up front on his own is unlikely to pose a threat. The lack of pace option with the ball over the top means opposing defenders have little to worry about PL has much still to sort.
frosty Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Who decided we were going to start playing goal music? No idea but it needs to stop, sounded awful. Felt like it started playing the moment the ball hit the net too.

Fair points, but I've watched Forest three times this season and there are definite weaknesses in their team and set up as well. If they play like they did on Friday we can beat them, no question.
ada2020 Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Weren't you backing bowyer until you found out he was sacked? You clearly don't read this board often.
Bucksrover Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Whoever they are, we need to hunt that person down...and harm them. Must admit I quite like goal music. Adds to the ocassion I think

We'll find out whether PL is up to the job over the next 12 months. He will know who he wants to keep and where he wants to strengthen now. Much will depend on whether there's new money available, or not.
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Who decided we were going to start playing goal music?Possibly PL. He mentioned how he wants the BBE to be a wall of noise. Indicated that he would prefer it of all the singers were there. He is clearly used to noisier fans.

Pedro Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Why? Because he can't spell occasion? No. Because one of the best sounds in the world is a crowd celebrating, not Song 2 by Blur etc.
LewisF Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 No. Because one of the best sounds in the world is a crowd celebrating, not Song 2 by Blur etc. Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes
Pedro Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes I'm aware of that, I'm referring back to the last time we made the mistake of playing music when we scored. It's horrific.
gumboots Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 If the crowd make enough noise they drown out all music anyway, so where's the problem?
Pedro Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 If the crowd make enough noise they drown out all music anyway, so where's the problem? Personal taste. I hate it. It is tacky and naff. It belongs in some crap American sport and for me, ruins a beautiful moment. It is the stuff of dingles. What more can I say?
