G Somerset Rover Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 Lawrence and Wiliamson on for Guthrie and Marshall.
Backroom DE. Posted December 20, 2015 Backroom Posted December 20, 2015 If we're nowhere near the playoffs come January then I'd sell Rhodes and Marsh and give it some of it to Lambert... Let him build the team he wants. If Sheff Weds are still interested then Marshall would be worth selling to generate some funds and free up some wage space. I don't think his attitude will ever be good enough to produce a sustained run of form. I wouldn't sell Rhodes unless we had somebody very good lined up to come straight in. Lawrence and Wiliamson on for Guthrie and Marshall. Williamson again? Why?
Amo Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 I'd rather play Taylor in the middle than bloody Williamson.
G Somerset Rover Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 This is honestly so, so poor. A Boro or Derby would be thrashing us. Sideways, back, sideways, HOOF. Still I can only remember their keeper having one save to make, a very tame one in the first half. We need to be going for it!
tomphil Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 Worrying trend developing with Williamson although it does sound like Guthrie has been over run all afternoon (not difficult) but we need younger legs in there.
Neal Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 I wouldn't sell Rhodes unless we had somebody very good lined up to come straight in. Feel we could get someone out of picture at a prem club that could do Rhodes job... Murray, Grabban, Gayle I recon would all cost less than what we could potentially get for Rhodes.
Athlete Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 TBH never been impressed with Guthrie even the reading fans weren't impressed on their forums
Pedro Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 Williamson again? Why? You'll change your tune after he scores a twenty yard, overhead kick 😕
Swanson Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 Hopefully Lenihan will take Williamson's place when he is injury free.
Amo Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 You'll change your tune after he scores a twenty yard, overhead kick I don't remember that episode of Twin Peaks.

Defo wouldnt sell his goalscoring record speaks for itself every striker goes through a lean period
Neal Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 Rhodes probably not get the price we've allegedly been offered.. Defo wouldnt sell his goalscoring record speaks for itself every striker goes through a lean period That's fair, don't want to spark another Rhodes debate that will drag on for days but feel the names I mentioned would be just as effective if not more effective for us than Rhodes.
jim mk2 Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 Heading for first defeat under Lambert. To be honest it's been coming, we've been lucky in a few games. Squad desperately needs a shake-up.

Defo wouldnt sell his goalscoring record speaks for itself every striker goes through a lean period Exactly ! Unless it's still huge money and can be spent on a strike partnership then pointless to sell. For modest money we just can't replace with anyone who'll notch as many over the course of time. He'll come good again.
sharpysharps Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 Massive improvements needed in the squad. I would move Marshall on at this point as he has flattened to deceive too many times now. There are better (and hungrier) wingers out there than we would be able to bring in now that the embargo has lifted.

This is 100% the situation. All we've seen really is a more robust aggressive version of what was mostly going on under Bowyer. Big overhaul is needed. Basics are there but this lot will never be more than midtable stuff no matter who leads them unless we can get all the good players in form at once. We always stutter around Christmas anyway for some reason.

beanie Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 Need a few new players in a striker is a must before we even think of selling Rhodes.
oldjamfan1 Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 This lot have let late goals in a couple of times recently - there's hope yet!
Backroom Tom Posted December 20, 2015 Backroom Posted December 20, 2015 Brown on but with Conway off we will struggle to get anything to him
