Iceman Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 United have loads of injuries atm though, doubt they'd let him go.Pity though, think he is a good player.

koi Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Brilliant pass to put Milner one on one. Some strange reffing from Phil Mitchell. Hooly might be more realistic in the summer.
Neal Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Was Hoolahan even linked with us? No but Lambert talking about chasing an unnamed number 10, Norwich, 6 months left on contract at 33 y/o... You'd bet decent money on it being him.
chaddyrovers Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 I thought it might have be Jack Grealish
roverandout Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Good call chaddy, freakish would be a good shout
Backroom Mike E Posted January 23, 2016 Backroom Posted January 23, 2016 Good call chaddy, freakish would be a good shout 😂
Lancaster Rover Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Why would Villa who probably have half an eye on preparing for life in the championship let one of their best players go to a championship club who will no doubt be a rival next year. That makes even less sense than all the Hoolahan talk.
chaddyrovers Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Paul Wheelock on twitter Paul Lambert has confirmed #rovers have received a 'very good offer' for Markus Olsson. Did not name club. But it is understood to be #dcfc
Backroom Tom Posted January 23, 2016 Backroom Posted January 23, 2016 Tara then Our best left back but Lambert seems to want to build a new squad and if Olsson is refusing to sign a new deal it makes sense to sell now
chaddyrovers Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 I think Lambert will look to sign Joe Bennett from Villa
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted January 23, 2016 Moderation Lead Posted January 23, 2016 I think Lambert will look to sign Joe Bennett from VillaHe's just signed for Sheff Weds, so probably not!

DavidMailsTightPerm Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Snap their hands off at the elbow. Good money for a poor player out of contract in the summer? Luvvly Jubbly. Don't agree he is a poor player - and he brings much needed pace in the team. What I will concede - he is a limited player - and when closed down quickly can look a little like a rabbit caught in head lights, and I think there are better players out there in his position. Overall I agree any sort of reasonable fee (depends on definition of very good offer) for a player coming to the end of his contract can't be sniffed at.
G Somerset Rover Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Little bemused you're happy to snap their hands off Rev when it will mean that Tommy Spurr is the first name on the team sheet each week unless a decent replacement is sourced.
Mike Graham Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 They will have to prise him off the toilet seat or the back seat of the bus to sign his dcfc contract. Fans player of the season last season but threw his toys out of the pram recently....not the attitude we want at Ewood.
booth Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 I'm probably in the minority but I think he's terrible and a symptom of dumbed down standards. He can run, that's it. I'm sure there are Olympians who can run faster but we wouldn't have them in our defence would we?

Will end up on bench for Derby but Spurr is worrying...

That is the problem for me, as well. I can only hope it's his lack of matches/ring rust etc But Olsson has delighted me long enough.Blackburn Rovers can and should do much better... But why do we carry on like a waste disposal company? I have never seen us collecting so much rubbish in such a hurry. If it carries on, they should not be allowed to wear the famous shirt. For me, much of this comes down to the whole aim of the transfer policy over the last few years.Well it certainly hasn't been to build a functional team, has it! I remember Gordon Lee built a promotion team in one close season-after selling the biggest star, by the way!
West Yorks Rover Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 His brother was Even worse. Will end up on bench for Derby but Spurr is worrying... Totally agree, he's a Lge 1 player at best.

"There will be no stars on Tyneside" is a quote attributed to him. I certainly believe Lambert comes from the teamwork over stars philosophy. Probably is Derby County for Olsson. On twitter Nixon said it was even though the Derby manager denied it.
chaddyrovers Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 He's just signed for Sheff Weds, so probably not! Didnt know that.

Tony Field/Malcolm McDonald/Duncan McKenzie( I think) all sold by Lee.I l did love that 1974-5 team, though! I won't weep for Olsson. Any truth in the toilet story?
