you clearly no spalding well don't think there is any english in spalding anymore all on outskirts, fen land is pretty full of them, well all of england is full of them.

where in england you from?

East Lancashire strangely enough!

It's no secret that the Fenland agricultural economy has attracted thousands of Poles, Lithuanians, and Latvians as well as Portugese. However, we in danger of derailing the thread, over to Mani, Neal, Neophox, Unsall et al.

With the success of Vardy there is a real clamour to sign lower league players yet for every Jamie Vardy there are 20 Nicky Ajose's. If you look through the lower leagues 95% of the young players doing well have been at grade 1 academies and then released. They've been watched for tens of thousands of hours by professional coaches and deemed not good enough to play at the highest level, probably been on 4 or 5 loans and eventually on release settle at a club and find their level. Yes there are a few late bloomers and players who do climb the leagues but they are few and far between. Many do it with one club but fail to continue the same form when they move clubs. The idea that you can just pluck great players from league 1 and 2 is nonsense I'm afraid.

Oh for a Duggie! I suppose I should be grateful to see 1 number 10 like that in my lifetime.

Technically speaking, apart from his shirt number, Tugay was a number 10 imo. He was a player we seriously need now, because he could spray passes and unlock a defense easily.

Tugay wasn't a No.10. They play more of an advanced role just behind the frontman, whereas Toogs would sit deep and dictate the play like Pirlo.

Early in Tugay's Career he got forward and scored some great goals. But he adapted his game as he got older and played the deeper midfielder role.

I think Lambert is looking for midfielder who can unlock defences and attacking teams whilst Akpan sits in front of the defence

Certainly seems like he wants to end up with a 442 diamond of sorts if he is looking for a 'number 10' player.

If Bennett can kick on after what sounds like a much improved performance from him in the 2nd half yesterday and Conway can recapture some form then it looks a whole lot better as long as Rovers can bring in that player with the quality to unlock defences. Lawrence clearly isn't fancied in that respect so he should be sent back at the end of the month.

Maybe so but he has played that formation in a couple of games so far.

Taylor being discussed above, lad is an honest player but I think we all need to start being brutally honest about our players... He should be gone in the summer, nowhere near the required standard. Despite if promotion is a realistic possibility for a club in this league is beside the point, you should be recruiting players that can potentially get you out of this league not just 'do a job'.

Being brutally honest Taylor, Brown, Lawrence, Kilgallon, Steele, Delfuenso, Guthrie, Petshi, Eastwood should all be let go in the summer and even players like Conway, Spurr, Evans, Akpan, Lowe are only good enough to be considered squad players if you want to be promoted. I'd let Henley, Raya and Koita go out on loan and try and sell Marshall to these clubs who seem to rate him for as much as we can to put some funds in the coffers for new faces. Try and get in 2-3 proven quality players, maybe take a chance from someone in the lower leagues and bring some of lads from the youth set up into the first team squad.

Massive changes are needed and I'm sure Lambert will know that looking at our league position and performances. It would be easy to just blame the manager at this point but remind yourself that the only person at Rovers who is proven at this level is Paul Lambert.

The players simply aren't good enough and with the exception of Rhodes and maybe the centre halves the rest are barely good enough to be squad players.

EXODUS NEEDED.

PLBWA

I agree on most of those players to leave but I wouldn't get rid of Steele, Spurr(back up LB), maybe Brown if he perform like he did against Brighton.

I wouldn't sell Marshall if he performs like he has at right back. But I would sell Lowe

I wouldn't loan Raya or Henley out.

But I expecting lot of changes to the squad during the summer.

We need pace up front, Midfielder playmaker, first choice left back, 4th choice centre back, winger, sign a target man striker(or Graham)

Well, yeah. That's how the 442 diamond works - you play two up top, one attacking midfielder and one holding...right?

He clearly doesn't fancy Lawrence, but there are no other players in the squad capable of playing that creative number 10 role at the moment so his hands seem tied to playing Evans or Lenihan alongside Akpan, but the problem is they are all too similar / not that great. Akpan is certainly the pick of the bunch because he clearly tries hard and gets around the pitch. Evans goes missing so often I'm surprised they're not putting posters up around Ewood.

I enjoy reading chaddys contributions to the site but at the end of the day how can he suggest players he doesn't know?I'd be asking anyone else the same question,I have nothing against chaddy

You aren't allowed to treat chaddy like you would treat anyone else. He has to be dealt with specially - according to some on here.

Of course, if you actually asked him, chaddy would prefer to be treated like any other poster.

It's the modern British offended-on-behalf-of-everyone-else culture.

I have no problems with the questions. you were respectful and I have also responded to your PM

No my point is that Lambert wants to play 2 strikers at the start of the game and not just 1 up front in a 4-5-1 formation

I don't think that true. I also don't think that anything anyone said in the last few pages was untoward in regards to Chaddy either. People probably look to defend him as he has been rounded on so mercilessly in the past whenever he's said anything.

(For balance, I have previously been warned for the same offence by a moderator).

As I said though, nothing wrong in what anyone said in the last few pages as far as I could see.

I think Lambert might want to play 451, but he can't not play Rhodes and Rhodes can't play 451.

Ah I see, not sure why we are debating then when we are both saying more or less the same thing

Whenever he next says anything, watch how many people start questioning him. If they're that keen to know they can always send him a pm. It's happened to other posters as well to be fair.

If Spurs are considering letting Pritchard go out on loan then i'm sure a lot of clubs are in for him and not just Burnley. Suppose relations might be good because of the Trippier deal but I imagine he'll stay closer to home.
